People still die of love […]. The story of life is love. Perhaps we have other preoccupations, saying that women and men have changed, but what hasn’t changed is the mechanism of passion and love […].

The idea was to tackle The Woman Next Door in a coarse, offhand manner, like a minor news item, and then, on moving closer, we would see ordinary people with ordinary lives, with houses, cars, holidays and garden parties but who bore this enormous burden.
