Bruce… Bruce had been the one to somehow track the owner of the small motorbike repair shop back in Italy down. He had been able to contact said owner, after Jack had forgotten the exact address, just from Jack telling Bruce everything about his history, about his brother, about how he became the Joker– that was all Bruce Wayne had needed to find the person who had taken care of Jack and his brother such a seemingly long time ago… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And Jack…? He’d forever be so fucking thankful for that… Because now? He had a letter from a kind friend, and a photograph of his little brother to always remember him by… To always keep with him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He had had absolutely no idea Bruce had done any of this… No idea what his man had been up too. Bruce hadn’t even handed him the letter himself! He had just left the letter there, for Jack to find. Clearly not wanting Jack to think he was trying to win brownie points of something and be a “good boyfriend”… Bruce had just wanted to make Jack HAPPY, not “show off” what he can do… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jack deserved this closure.

It was a letter from Italy. A letter from the owner of the little motorbike repair shop, who let Jack and his little brother stay with them for quiet some time. He sent Jack a lovely letter, wishing him a Merry Christmas… And that he had been told by the person Jack was now living with - Bruce Wayne - that Jack’s little brother had passed away… So? He sent Jack a polaroid, one they the owner still had for all these years, of his favourite two Italians… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jack hadn’t seen his brother in years. He had no photographs… He regretted not being able to take any. But here this polaroid photo was, of him snuggling his baby brother when Jack was about fourteen, and his brother was about six. Wearing the yellow beanie Jack had given him…

I interrupt the story posts to show you all what I've been working on today. ☺ I updated my batfamily Sims! I'm currently posting over on @ thebatandhisclown on Instagram a chronological version of my sims story (to the best of my ability) so I've de-aged Damian to a little mini-Bruce!! But I've also made major changes to Dick, Jason and Tim... I'm not sure I've fully finished with them yet, but this is a massive change already. 😱 So I'm currently adjusting. Especially with Jason! 😊🦇

Even after had Bruce explained everything - it had been his turn now to tell a long and difficult story - he still couldn’t take his mind off of it… The guilt would not leave him alone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jack, of course, had listened to every single word… And he did not blame Bruce for what happened to him at all… It absolutely wasn’t Bruce’s fault. He told him, over and over again, after the younger of the two boys got over the initial shock and surprise– because holy shit, you know? It was Bruce who had been there, that day in the chemical plant… Bruce had been the one who had seen him fall. Who had tried to reach out for him. It explained so much and… It just made Jack feel even more connected to Bruce, despite the circumstances… To know that there had been someone who had tried to save him, a stranger that had cared during one of the most darkest parts of Jack’s life? That was more then enough for Jack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it wasn’t for Bruce. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bruce just… couldn’t accept it, that easy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It just wouldn’t leave his mind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even as Jack fell asleep in his arms - both of them lying on the sofa, infront of the warm fire together - Jack absolutely did not want to leave his bat alone right now; having stayed right here with him ever since Bruce got home… Bruce sat awake, with a single tear running down his tan cheek.

Right now… All Bruce wants to focus on, is his Jack being okay. It doesn’t matter that Bruce is currently going through an overwhelming amount of conflicting emotions - mostly guilt - due to the admission from Jack about the incident at Ace Chemicals… That Jack had no idea it had been Bruce…

All that matters right now, is Jack’s well being. And mourning Jack’s little brother properly.

After a few moments of just… Sitting together - Jack finally having the company of someone else to share the warmth of the fire with - whilist thinking of the best way to even start this story… Jack finds his voice, and begins to tell Bruce everything. The story of his little brother, and even before that. About what his life has been like in Italy… With his parents, with the abuse, with how he got himself and his brother the fuck out of there once the very first opportunity presented itself. How they ran far, far away… Hitchiked to God knows where, snuck public transport; Jack cradling a tiny toddler to his chest– keeping him warm and dry, always prioritising his brother over himself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Where they stayed in Italy for awhile, in a bike shop who was owned by a generous person who gave them not only money, but food and shelter… About how they joined the circus… That eventually to them to Gotham. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He even told Bruce about the Acid-Vat, and what had led to him being in Ace Chemicals in the first place; it was The reason his brother was killed, after all. Because he had been away from his brother, planning the break in to the chemical plant, and left him all alone and vulnerable… Something Jack would never forgive himself for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ About how he has fallen, and all he could remember now was a blurred figure, trying to save him… But he didn’t know who that figure was. That he remembers being scared, absolutely terrified in fact. But he also realises now after it was all in the past… That this person had tried to save him… And he’d always be thankful for that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But Bruce remembered. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bruce knew exactly who that blurred figure was, just from Jack retelling the memory. And Bruce had had no idea that the person he had tried to rescue from falling into was still alive… He thought that had been another person he had failed… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But that person… It had been Jack.

Bruce had absolutely all of the time in the world for Jack… He didn’t mind how long it took for Jack to be ready to speak… For Jack to find his voice. Bruce was a patient man, and he just wanted his boy to be okay. It wasn’t often he saw Jack cry, just as it wasn’t often Jack saw Bruce cry, either. But the tears only told Bruce all the more that… This was serious. Something was really plaguing his boyfriends mind. And if Jack was really sure he wanted to tell Bruce, then Bruce would sit here all day and wait until Jack was ready.

Recently I had an ask sent to me on my Instagram account, asking if Bruce knows about Jack’s brother yet… I realised that, holy crap– I never actually made a photoset for it! Ever! So? I got to work on it, right away. And this is what I’ve come up with. :) I made it for an Instagram format, so I hope the 4x4 display is still okay for you guys over here! :) It was fun to explore this style for the first time, even though I’ve still got more room for improvement and much more exploring to do with it! 💛✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I really hope you all enjoy the next series of posts in this new story. ☺📖
