happy father’s day to the man who taught me to alway be myself, that I didn’t need make up to be beautiful, to never back down from a challenge, to kick ass in a work out (he was a bad ass marine hoorah) but also dark chocolate always. he set my standards high for what a good & loving husband should look like (that @klby exceeds❣️) but most importantly, I’m able to view God as a good father because of my good earthly father. the other day when we were at the beach, some of the waves were reaching heights to where you saw them go up but it took them a few seconds to crash down. the sound was like thunder on some of them. I’m not used to waves like that. I normally just see small waves with short breaks. when I was watching some, I was anticipating the sound. that heavy, mesmerizing sound. but it wouldn’t come right away; it’s almost like it was taking a deep breathe, going slow until crashing down. I noticed myself waiting for the ones that didn’t break right away. taking breathes with the water. then God told me to remember to wait - anticipate his movement, even when it doesn’t happen in your timing, he’s coming. no matter what, you’ll hear that sound crashing. not right away sometimes, but you’ll hear it.
