Do you think Raoul Silva and Bond had a thing? Was Silva attracted to Bond when he was touching him or just messing with him?
I’m a little biased here because I’m 00silva trash, but I’ll behave and answer from the canon source without wildly speculating… at least as best I can ;)
I definitely think Silva has a bit of a thing for Bond, and by “a bit of a thing” I mean “yikes, that’s bordering on unhealthy obsession there my guy”. Silva has an obsessive personality, he’s quite clearly not straight (I read him as bisexual, same as I read Bond), and here’s James, M’s new favourite, someone Silva sees himself in, and he’s good-looking to boot. I think it’s safe to say that while Silva’s feeling him up was mostly to cause discomfort and uncertainty, he was also most definitely copping a feel. Silva’s thing is to make people feel uncomfortable and keep them from feeling secure enough to make any plans against him, but holy shit, you can’t convince me that some of those looks weren’t Silva thinking in great detail about exactly what he’d want to do to Bond if he had the time.

As for James, he’s obviously in a bit of an awkward situation there and is likely distracted by the hundreds of other things he has going on, but I definitely think there’s potential for something there, had things gone differently. Right now, they’re on opposite sides, and Silva is nothing more to him than the psychopath who tried to kill M. Fast forward a little to the point where James watches Silva confront M about what she did to him, and it already seems as though he’s seeing him as more human; he even gives M quite an accusing look at one point.

From this moment, I believe, Silva isn’t just The Villain to James – he’s finally recognised Silva as the other side of the coin, and he knows that he wasn’t far away from being in the same situation. He also knows that he’s experienced his own equivalent, and you can’t tell me he’s not lowkey pissed at M throughout the entire movie because of it. I think that from the first meeting, the chemistry between Bond and Silva is completely undeniable, and but from this moment, it becomes more than chemistry and reaches an understanding. The rest of the movie sees Bond sticking rigidly to his duty, but I don’t think he took any pleasure in it like he could with other villains. I would even go as far as to say that he didn’t want to kill Silva – it was just a necessity, but it still felt like a betrayal to the man he almost became. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Silva was killed by a knife to his back.
So in conclusion, finally (and this is with me making an effort to keep this short), Silva definitely is attracted to James, James goes from undeniable chemistry to Complicated Feelings™ with Silva, and Silva is the worst for sexual innuendoes.
