The Cult of Done Manifesto

There are three states of being. Not knowing, action and completion.

Accept that everything is a draft. It helps to get it done.

There is no editing stage.

Pretending you know what you’re doing is almost the same as knowing what you are doing, so just accept that you know what you’re doing even if you don’t and do it.

Banish procrastination. If you wait more than a week to get an idea done, abandon it.

The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done.

Once you’re done you can throw it away.

Laugh at perfection. It’s boring and keeps you from being done.

People without dirty hands are wrong. Doing something makes you right.

Failure counts as done. So do mistakes.

Destruction is a variant of done.

If you have an idea and publish it on the internet, that counts as a ghost of done.

Done is the engine of more.

I had the idea for the implementation of the tracking screen after I caught a cold visiting my old hackerspace in Berlin, c-base and had to spend some time in bed. I thought it would be cool to be able to have a robotic screen that tracks faces and can be moved around to other positions via hand commands. Thanks to pcbway this project is now becoming a reality and once the final parts arrive I'll finish up the final product and documentation. It's based on a waveshare camera and should be fairly easy to reproduce with the guide. Looking forward to the release.

My new workspace, after moving I cut down on a few of the screens to run this setup on solar through the balcony. I overhauled my server stack and site as well with better security standards and more efficient site delivery inspired by the Low-Tech magazine. On the right a screen with a camera that will move according to facial tracking, I will publish it once the documentation is ready on enjoythed.biz
