So I just realised that I haven’t updated on here in ages! A lot has happened.

Nine months ago I moved to Reading and was working as a Games Tester for Microsoft and part time at Ann Summers. Things were going really well and I was about to start the internal AS training for a promotion. I had Supervisor experience from working at Cyberdog but AS had their own checklist for me to work through. I had moved into a beautiful two bedroom house with my friend Luna, close to the town centre and next to a brook.

Then out of the blue, the CEO of Citizens Advice in Jersey sent me an e-mail to say their Service Manager had handed in her notice. It was a weird thing to say and after a while it clicked that maybe he was telling me because they wanted me for the job. So I had a huge decision to make. My long term goal was to work for CAB after enjoying being a volunteer there so much, but definitely not in Jersey. I spoke with the CEO on the phone and he said if I would come back for the job, they would pull the advert. No interview necessary. It was mine.

After a lot a thinking and some tears, here I am, Service Manager at Citizens Advice Jersey! The opportunity was too good to miss. Even if/when I managed to find a paid role at CAB, it would possibly take years to work up to Service Manager level. I’ve been back three months and it was the right decision. Last weekend I moved into my own one bedroom flat in the town centre with a balcony. As an introvert, I love the solitude and as a human, I love the independence.

My long term goal is still not here in Jersey, but this time I came back triumphant and getting this kind of work experience gives me the option to work and live anywhere I want in the future. I am so grateful to have found a career doing such fulfilling work, realising my potential and not compromising on my appearance.

So I don’t know what the future holds for me but right now I am making the most of this incredible opportunity and focusing on my new career by learning everything I can.

Also I would like to add that as horrible as my last relationship and the way it ended was, it set me down this road. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have moved back to Jersey last year, wouldn’t have volunteered at CAB and wouldn’t be working there full time now. So everything really does happen for a reason, even if it’s hard to see at the time <3

Hey! I love your style, and I've been thinking bout getting cheek piercings myself. Anyhow, people say they take lots of time to heal and will leave holes on your face for forever, Im also kind of afraid that I wont get a job if i get ones, especially because I want to work in customer service, but Ive always wanted a piercing. What should I do? Plus, problem nro. 2 is that I wanna wear high heels and platforms in public but Im afraid I fall/stumble etc and embarass myself :( ((plus bullying))

Yes, what you’ve heard is true. Be prepared for a very long healing process. It took about three years for mine to calm down completely. As in, I got random flare ups for no reason for the first three years. I still carry longer bars in my wallet at all times just in case! I’ve never taken mine out for any length of time, but it does seem that scarring is permanent for those who do. The scarring leaves you with dimples so as long as you have good placement, it’s not that bad in my opinion.

I can’t make that decision for you, but I can say that I’ve only been turned down for one job in six years due specifically to my piercings. The rest of the time, it’s not been an issue. Even in customer facing roles. And they’re my absolute favourite piercings <3

As for the shoes, just practice at home! Walking in platforms is easy. Try boots so you have more ankle support if you’re worried. Personally, when I got my first pair of platforms I was SO excited to wear them that I could not care less about what other people thought or might say. I wore them at every opportunity and felt amazing. If someone tries to drag you down, you’re already above them etc etc :) :)

I didn't get rid of it, just deactivated for a while because I get too many messages. I might reactive at some point.

How did you become a game tester? Do you have to have any qualifications?

I applied through an agency called Huntress in Reading. That's where Microsoft's HQ is. Had to demonstrate I could play a couple of games and write bug reports ^^

Hey hun be careful doing that earring trick because it can leave a lil dent in your ear over time just fyi :)

How do you put hook earrings through your tunnels and stop them falling out every time you bend over?? It's something I've tried numerous times and have lost so many earrings 😂

I put them between the tunnel and my ear lobe! :)
