This is Ezri. He was a Dimesion pillar guardian in the era of the Sarafan order, right before the martyred twink one.
This is the closest I have to a reference but he deserves a better one tbh
Post is gonna be like one william km long text wall, so more below the cut!
Despite the status and power that goes with the title of a Guardian, the idea of a Higher Purpose (tm) that he never asked for, the responsibility put on his shoulders on the basis of being born never sat right with him.
Also, his formative years landed on the Sarafan order being in its prime, and the order&the circle were so heavily intertwined, which meant Ezri saw a lot, a lot of cruelty towards vampires, which his like 12yrs old mind deemed unjustified. To be fair, when you constantly see severed vampire heads on pikes and yet never saw one attacking a human, that maaaayyy be the logical conclusion.
The absolute lowpoint came when Ezri sneaked out for a walk at night (shifting between realms gives you a big advantage in sneaking ability...) and saw two fledgling vampires trying to feed of a dead cow - young, weak and terrified of the humans way more than humans are of them, they wouldn't even dare to touch one.
And he saw the terror in ther eyes, he saw them as beasts they are - not bloodthirsty, but backed into a corner like hunted deer. And that was the last straw for the Guardian on the run, who left his Token under the designated pillar and ran away from the Circle never to come back.
Soon Ezri would find himself a nature-dweller... And a graverobber.
His favorite activity was lurking around the ancient ruins of the vampires, those that were not sealed by magic, deemed less significant. He would nose around finding stuff that shines the most :^) The cute things would go on his body, and the boring ones he would sell or barter in a true "rpg main character" fashion. Ezri never knew, nor he cared for the history behind these artifacts.
Although this life might seem worriless, the runaway guardian was actually in constant fear of his ex-companions seeking for him. He never settled in one place for too long, avoided visiting settlements if its longer than an one-night-tavern-stay, barely could sleep for more than a couple hours at a time... Ezri was on the neverending, constant run.
(Little did he know that Vorador has paid the Circle a visit, after which everyone just tied his dissapearance to the other deaths)
It was at this period when Ezri - a frequent visitor of the Spectral realm - would notice a certain unfamiliar someone among the wraiths and sluagh he was used to. Curious of who that other Spectral-dweller might be, Ezri basically stalked Raziel for some time until eventually facing him in a very awkward manner.
Without going into even more details than this pamphlet already has, Ezri made himself Raziel's companion on his journey, and Raz had no choice than to... allow him? He was puzzled - how could a mere mortal not be horrified of his "wretched" appearance, let alone want to spend days with him. Well, as long as this human didn't interfere in his path or made himself a burden, let him do whatever he wants, I suppose...
They would grow quite attached to each other despite the little time they've spent together, but it was never any strings attached. Ezri would dissapear and come back again, as would Raz. Until he didn't, instead getting trapped with the old obnoxious octopus. Whoops.
Ok I might need to keep this shorter. In search for him, Ezri would risk to enter the Demon realm, something that even he was never reckless enough to do before.
This would lead to him being imprisoned by the Hylden💚💚💚💚 and becoming their spy.
Ezri was never aware of the history between the Hylden and vampires, so he was instantly interested in them just due to their inhuman nature, because he is a monsterfucker positibely biased towards all non-humans due to his upbringing.
Long story short, the runaway guardian becomes very close with a particular Hylden, one of the seven guild leaders.
Ezri now was the face of all humanity in tge eyes of this race who saw themselves as superior, and humans were merely speaking animals to the Hylden.
Safe to say, the reputation of the human race was in right hands and he never confirmed ANY of these stereotypes.
(The Warden is the native title of the Hylden lord)
Alas, fate would soon separate him and his captor-savior-partner. When Ezri left tge Demon realm, he would emerge in a timeline not so long before the events of BO2 - and head to the city of Meridian with his new-foumd monstrous companion, a centuries old vampire pruestess Runa who he accidentaly revived, silly him.
What - or rather who - did they find? History has yet to tell :^)

Admittedly it currently glitches out halfway through the opening and goes straight to the first level, the audio doesn't work at all, and it crashed immediately after taking this video, but it's progress. Before now I haven't even got the damn thing to run at all.

I've taken the time to prepare the content appropriately for fans and non-experts, balancing explanatory content as much as possible. Meanwhile, I've resumed organizing the new content schedule after months of forced inactivity due to health reasons.
You've been patient and supportive; I've received many messages of appreciation and affection over the past few months. This is my way of thanking you as I move forward with new, unreleased projects and goals.
I started this as a throwaway idea but then it got out of hand. There isn't nearly enough fan art of these two so why not. Defiance remastered gave me a new perspective and more context on who she might be so more art of potentially more simpler times.
I really appreciate your work, I'm glad you gave them a chance. When I drew her in the Remastered, I wanted to give her a new writing style that she hadn't had, even from creative fans.
the thing is as a stoner i KNOW in my bones that kain would be terrible at getting high. don't share that joint with him he's just going to get (more) weird and paranoid (than usual)
