Read Donald Trump's tweets in Comic Sans, the only appropriate font for his nonsense.
My latest Chrome extension displays Trump's tweets in Comic Sans, the most appropriate font for content of this caliber. It goes really well with my other extension, Donald Trump is Horsey McSnuffles: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/donald-trump-is-horsey-mc/jhdanapbpfgeibpmaciiefhpbbengmak
“It is immigrants who brought to this land the skills of their hands and brains to make it a beacon of opportunity and hope for all men.”
This is inside your passport right now.
I have a Libyan friend.
One of my friends is here on a visa and he’s from Libya. Honestly, I don’t exactly know the ins and outs of immigration to the USA, so I don’t know if he has a green card or a visa or if that means the same thing. Also, I just got home from barhopping so I’m not about to look it up at this moment. I just wanted to get this out of me and onto the Internet before I go to sleep.
Ever since Trump won the nomination, I’ve lightheartedly joked with some of my non-citizen friends that if he gets elected, they’ll get deported. They would laugh. I would laugh. We would all laugh. It didn’t seem possible that these friends of mine who contribute to the greatness of America would be summarily carted off to their home countries in the unlikely event that Trump won the election.
He did win. The unlikely has become reality. And it’s not a joke anymore. President Velveeta signed an executive order that halts green card and visa holders from seven Muslim countries from entering the USA. Libya is one of those countries. My friend is here, but if he had been visiting his family when the executive order went into effect, he wouldn’t have been able to come back. I could never see him again because he wouldn’t have been able to come back into the country. On the flip side (the very REAL side), his family may never see him again unless he makes the decision to go see them and never come back to the United States.
Trump just permanently separated families. Refugees who had gone through the vetting process and were cleared for immigration are stuck. Medical residents who had been accepted to some of our finest universities aren’t able to come study, even those who were already enrolled and halfway through their track. Green card holders who have been here for years, who possibly graduated college, found jobs, started families, and were working toward citizenship cannot come back if they just so happened to be visiting home this week as Trump signed that executive order. There are people in the air who, upon landing, were and will be sent back to their country of origin because the executive order went into effect while they were en route back to the United States.
I’m typing this now because I’m exhausted, not because I think it will help anything. Whenever I write something about the world, I usually do so because I have something to point out that nobody else is discussing. A lot of huge stories don’t get commentary from me because smarter people have already covered everything I would say. That’s not what this is. I’m not trying to spread awareness or bring in a new viewpoint. We all are seeing this at the same time and we all are feeling the same sense of rage and despair. This is purely a diary entry after some drinks. This is just a way to keep my mind busy and focused so I don’t break down. I cannot believe this is happening. I just typed that and I already recognize it as a lie. I can absolutely believe this is happening because America is not good. This is not a good place with good people who are interested in doing good in the world. This is a place of conquest and selfishness and ignorance. There are just so many stupid hateful people in this country and I don’t know what to do about it.
my feelings in a nutshell 😡
Feminism is an endeavor to change something very old, widespread, and deeply rooted in many, perhaps most, cultures around the world, innumerable institutions, and most households on Earth—and in our minds, where it all begins and ends. That so much change has been made in four or five decades is amazing; that everything is not permanently, definitively, irrevocably changed is not a sign of failure. A woman goes walking down a thousand-mile road. Twenty minutes after she steps forth, they proclaim that she still has nine hundred ninety-nine miles to go and will never get anywhere.

via @refinery29:
We march with women past, present, and future. We march for a vote and a voice. We march because we don’t just talk about rights, we take them. We march because “we can do it!” To close the gap. For the soul of our nation. To own our bodies. We march to right the wrong. We march because we’re bossy bitches. Because, man, if you feel like a woman, you are one. Because we mean business. We march for equality: social, economic, political, and orgasmic. For tampons. For sisterhood. For immigrants (who get the job done). We march for hope, never fear. For breast pumps at work. We march because “shrill” is the sound of change. Because no means no. We march because Black Lives Matter. We march so girls can be too much. We march side by side, because empathy happens eye to eye. We march to change both attitudes and laws. To be our all, not have it all. To plan our parenthood. We march because love is love is love is love. We march to turn that broken heart into art. We march because we can, we have, and we will. We march to make herstory.
To be totally passive does not create peace…it is the breeding ground for subjugation.

Most of this is lifted from the twitter rant I just went on, but: I love how Shaun King, among others, are out here trashing Hillary Clinton for not “living up to her campaign promises” and trashing her for “giving up” when she literally… lost…
Hillary worked tirelessly for this country for 25+ years, and this is the thanks she gets. I’ve seen this too many times since the election.
People asking “where’s Hillary?” after Some Shit™ goes down during the Trump transition. Where is she? In the woods, bitch.
People asking “where’s Hillary?” after Trump shoots off another typo-ridden tweet. Where is she? At the bookstore, bitch.
People asking “where’s Hillary?” after learning about Russian influence in the election. Where is she? Sipping tea and taking a nap because she fucking told y’all about that and y’all laughed at her and called her a nut.
Hillary Clinton fought for this country for years and fought through that election, and for what? So the men at the top of the party can walk around saying “I would’ve won”? So people can continue to drag her for not doing enough, even though she just fought and lost the biggest election of her life?
Hillary Clinton put her heart and soul into working to do what she thought was right in order to make this country great, and she did it while fighting sexism and misogyny, right-wing conspiracy theories and smears, and even attacks from people within her own party.
Hillary Clinton is a private citizen now, and she doesn’t HAVE to do ANYTHING for ANYONE. Y’all can kick all the rocks.

Is this man still alive
This is so important, and people realising and organising around this is simultaneously one of the most important things we can do, and one of the most threatening to established divisive power.
Martin Luther King spearheaded the Poor People’s Campaign which sought to bring meaningful change through understanding of this brutal tactic. The prospect of poor people of all races realising that they were bound together by the economic war being waged against them had the government shook to its core. King was assassinated within a month of the planned march on Washington D.C.

Back to Tumblr after this emotionally draining, shitshow of a week, and realizing I have no desire to look at reddit anymore ever.
Two-week road trip in October 2016. READ MORE... KEY Yellow = favorite spots Green = places we went to, and also recommend Blue = places we weren't able to go to, but heard were good Red = places we went to, but don't recommend MISCELLANEOUS TIPS - I'd recommend getting a 4WD car, even if you don't think you'll be going on F roads. Most roads off the Ring Road are gravel with giant pot holes, and it's only worse when it rains or snows (which is almost every day). We got our car from here: http://www.carsiceland.com/ and had a good experience with them. - Bring a swimsuit, towel and flip flops for hot springs and pools. Waterproof coat and boots are also a good idea. - If you want to drink and don't always want to spend $10 on a beer at a bar, buy booze at a Vinbudin - they are the state-run liquor stores. You can buy beer at grocery stores, but they are either non-alcoholic or very low ABV. Most towns have a Vinbudin, but hours can be weird (eg, 4pm-6pm), so it helps to have a couple bottles of wine on hand. - For cheap eats, most gas stations have a grill where you can get hot dogs, burgers, etc. There are also a lot of bakeries. - Check http://en.vedur.is/weather/forecasts/aurora/ for the nightly aurora forecast.
