house episode where a new male fellow has the hots for house kinda like cameron did. young and attractive like his fellows usually are. everyone and their mom knows. it gives house endless material for elaborate gay jokes, but he doesn't think the fellow is serious about it. until it's been a while and the fellow doesn't stop. house tells him he's straight, albeit flattered, in his own way. the fellow is genuinely surprised to hear that. this sends house into kind of a crisis about his possible bisexuality. wilson is incredibly interested in house's admirer and when house realizes he does actually like men, wilson is capital J jealous of the fellow. they go out once and make out a bit. wilson starts thinking he's homophobic for being unsupportive of this development, now that there's actually a possibility of house getting with this guy. house is joking when he pesters wilson about being jealous and wanting house to himself and then wilson stupidly does that stupid Oh face and his big brown eyes widen in realization. this is never discussed again

early season ducklings save me. laura is so fun because he's diagnostics little lab guy. pathologist specialty so they spend a lot of their time running tests for the team (especially helpful when house wants them to do ten million lab tests) but they definitely do help the team in person when she doesn't have tests to run though. I can imagine the first season is a bit like a baby deer tho. in my head house just kinda plucked ballard up as a pre-hired lab scientist at the hospital and offers them a spot on the team. and they want it sooo bad but they've been in a lab setting for a while now so patient care is awkward. maybe I'll actually write a fic one day but probably nawt I like just putting rambling to paper

don't even get me started on my really fun oc "let me stick a blonde twink with all of my autistic traits in front of house and see how long it takes him to snap"

alsooo I don't think this is quite in character for ballard but in my head they mirror house sooo bad. I would want them to mirror house in the way the show attempts to do foreman's "turning into house" arc (because foreman never actually felt like house. in his ethics maybe but house's attitude is part of what makes him Him. so without foreman's personality shifting to fit I just don't feel like the comparison fits him). because ballard is already witty and sarcastic and has a disability that causes chronic pain. so really all the pieces are there. all that exposition to say that I want ballard and chase to recreate that scene where chase punches house. I don't think it would happen in their story but god I think it would be so good.

extreme lack of using this account sorry. I'm reallyyy trying to finish up cameron and chase's arc / get through season 6 before I start oc musing but I've been thinking about ducking ballard recently. he's always been part of the dream team in my head so this is unsurprising but I don't explore them as much from an early seasons perspective and its so sad

I'm really trying to figure out how I think the three of them got together / how ballard got with cameron and chase. I really think cameron would repress the fact that shes sapphic badd I think it would scare the fuck out of her. so playing around with the idea of one night stand cameron and laura leading up to cameron asking chase to become fwb. because shes ignoring her feelings for him and ignoring that she hooked up with Not a cis man and Liked it. so shes all "we're adults with needs" as her own way of explaining it away. and then it doesn't work big shock there
