I’m really angry anyway, but I get angrier every pride month. I truly don’t understand how these people are allowed to hold office and how people still elect them.
We’ve always been here and will continue to be here; Happy fucking Pride
If your lover lives in Hong Kong and cannot get to Chicago, it will be necessary for you to go to Hong Kong. Perhaps you will spend your life there, and never see Chicago again. And you will, I assure you, as long as space and time divide you from anyone you love, discover a great deal about shipping routes, airlines, earthquake, famine, disease, and war. And you will always know what time it is in Hong Kong, for you love someone who lives there. And love will simply have no choice but to go into battle with space and time and, furthermore, to win.

puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.
my very good friend Angela Lansbury once said the exact same thing!
Good morning
a body count not as in homicide nor as in sexuality but as in the trail of people from my childhood and adolescence i should’ve been a better friend to and taken better care of but i was too busy being caught up in my own heartache to recognize their own and therefore our relationship tapered off in an extremely unsatisfying way that continuously manifests itself as a thrumming sense of grief in my chest. anyway which restaurant chains have the best free pre-meal bread?
NATASHA: Oh, I stashed that, like, five years ago. How is it?YELENA: It’s dry. It’s really dry.
For the Fanfiction Writing Asks…
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
Since emmlef beat me to 18 🤣 how about…
25. What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
46. If you could only write one type of AU for the rest of your life, what would it be?
1. Hmmmmmmmmm depends. I think both. I have to write down what I call my “tone setter” before I start a project (or a chapter), like i have to get the feel of the world where I know what it tastes like and sounds like and would feel like in my hands. Does that make any sense? So that part gets put on paper pretty quick so I don’t lose the aura or the colors.
Certain projects I can get into more immediately like the college au or something lighter, but if it’s an important moment in a longfic or a heavier oneshot, I have to let it stew in my mind a little. Not necessarily actively think about it, but just let it simmer and the ideas will come to the top more fully formed. Daydreaming specifically happens the most with my zombie au and I don’t know why. I think it’s because it’s the most outdoors and the setting is very earthy and I can feel myself in it.
But there are absolutely times when a demon possesses me overnight and a oneshot is completed in 6 hours
25. I feel like anyone who says anything except world building or brainstorming is lying. Worldbuilding is super fun especially in stuff like the zombie au and even in lighter stuff like the college au, just little tidbits. Brainstorming can be fun with a friend and you finally figure out the big twist or a character’s motivation and it feels like you discovered electricity.
Writing is fun if I hit a groove, or I just really nail something I want to say or the tone and setting and color is exactly what I want it to be. Editing can die and I don’t really do it ever and you can probably tell
46. Hm. I want to pick a versatile au so I could cater to all the genres I like to write, like venture into satire/comedy/mystery/introspection in the same au, but you could do that with all of them. I guess I’ll go with a classic college au, but honestly thinking about how much fun my knight and zombie au’s were, it’s a tough call
Thank you for the ask 😁😁😁
Posting an wip snippet in the hopes in encourages me to actually finish it
For the ask ! 18 and 61 about your favourite fic that you wrote :D (I love so many of them I couldn’t choose one)
18. Do you enjoy research? Which fic of yours required the most research?
Yeah I’m gonna be honest I do pretty much 0 research and planning and I keep 0 notes other than the ramblings of like 1-2 people’s DM’s. I can’t even think of what fic required the most cuz it’s like… none of them…
61. In [insert fic], what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?
This is very hard bc I’ve written A LOT across a lot of genres and tones… I love comedic/fluffy stuff like the college au but I do feel the most fulfilled with a deeper, more introspective tilt like in 75% of my oneshots and the last part of All of My Devotion Turns Violent.
From my long-form aus, the 3rd and 9th chapters of In Perfect Time are very synesthetically pleasing to me. From the college au, I love the bathtub scene, the (second?) party, the corn maze, and the kickball chapters.
This is cheating and way too long of an answer, but the last like 7 chapters of the zombie au is some of my favorite stuff— the longing and the depth and the seriousness, I guess. That first kiss caused me months of stress from the buildup. I got in my bag. I love them. Spoilers under the cut
