Prayer to Apollon for Healing/Oração à Apolo pela cura
Portuguese:
Khairete, Asklepios kai Hygeia!
English:
Noble Apollo, father of Asclepius, I sing to you Your sacred voice in eternal harmony I call Listen carefully and come closer, divine Paean For your providence I cry for
The vile daimon of disease flies, by the fleeting Air Your inscrutable eye, it will never escape The honorable gods of health already know it well And I call, O Apollo Akesios, come close
With you bring the divine one, the brilliant and chaste Hygeia Health Incarnate herself, for she reigns over all To nestle in our pillows and together with Asklepios present themselves, come, O Gods, to us, never be absent
That’s why I start to sing, of the one who orders the cure Holy and sparkling Apollo, the brother of pure Artemis His noble lyre always resounds and soothes the soul He puts all evil to rest, and our lives He saves Khaire, Apollon Akesios! Khairete, Asklepios kai Hygeia!
On fearing the gods - a rant
(this whole post is just me about ranting about how much i love the gods with 0 grammar because im too dumb to understand english and most of you probs don’t know spanish, so yeah)
So I was peacefully sitting while listening to my devotional playlist to Apollo when I remembered how freaking scared I was of him when I started getting into hellenism and now that I have been worshipping him for at least 6 months I don’t get why I was so anxious about it xd.
Like it makes sense, most of us had to study ancient greek myths at school and see how “scary” they were portrayed at the myths and then when we go to worship probably our first thought will be “gods imma be turned into a cow or they are going to kill me if i fuck up”. We are also sold this idea of “don’t you dare to worship a deity if you haven’t been into witchcraft for 3 years” or a stupid idea like that, so let’s talk about it.
DON’T FREAKING FEAR THE GODS, THERE IS NO NEED AND NO REASON (but research, i won’t defend/help you if you don’t research).
“the gods are too angry” “im not enough for them” “i can’t sit down to meditate everyday for them” “I cant have an altar for them”: any of this are some things new worshippers have said to me, and all of them are fake or not smth important.
In my experience and in my relationship with them, the gods are like a warm hug when coming home or those people you run to when you’re happy, sad, mad, etc. THEY ARE COMFORT AND GUIDANCE HOW MORE CAN I EXPLAIN IT, I LOVE THEM AND SO SHOULD YOU! Honestly I just can’t tell you how freaking much I love the gods but that’s not the topic xd.
They understand we are mortals who mess up, they do, if you messed up without bad intentions nothing extremely bad will happen! You won’t die or smth. Example, I did a dumb joke about a Poseidon myth, the next day I had an allergy to the sand, did offerings and said sorry from the bottom of my heart, 5h later that allergy disappeared.
They also understand our lives, they understand even if we wanted we can’t dedicate 24/7 365 days to them, they understand that we can’t buy jewels for them THEY TRULY DO! APOLLO ACCEPTS MY WATER BOTTLE AS OFFERING SO DW!!!!!
My point is that if you go into worship with good intentions nothing bad will happen, and instead of stopping yourself from worship just because you fear them you should kill that feeling and run to their arms because it’s totally worthy.
To Lady Artemis
I am new to this, but I can tell You have been here for awhile, watching and waiting in the wings while I ignored You
When the deer looked at me each night under the moonlight, I smiled and thought of You but I did not say anything
I feel Your presence under the moon, I feel it in the forest, I feel it when the hurt he caused me strikes back up, I feel it when I am in need of strength
You remind me of how it feels to be powerful and strong, how it feels to be confident and stable, it is a feeling I love and one that I want to remain in my life
I am hoping to further develop this feeling of courage through You, for You have already reminded me and helped me see the glimpses of my potential
I thank You, Lady Artemis
As always,

By Kawanabe Kyōsai (Japanese, 1831-1889)
“Remember why you became a polytheist. Perhaps you prayed and Someone unexpected answered. Perhaps a Goddess tapped you on the shoulder and said “you’re mine.” Perhaps you realized that the world is better explained by many Gods of limited power and scope than by one all-powerful God and you decided that following Them was the best way to order your life. It’s hard to be spiritual when your roof is leaking. If your current situation has dampened your enthusiasm for the Gods, Their virtues, and Their work, it’s understandable. And usually, They understand too – They tend to have a longer and wider perspective than we do. But whatever your reason for becoming a polytheist, it was valid then and it’s still valid now.”
— John Beckett “Polytheism in Difficult Times“ (via intaier)
To Lord Apollon,
Though my offerings are infrequent, though I am silent for months on end
I still think of You and your glorious love
I can remember that first day in the field over a year ago, when You took me another way home and let me know of Your presence, only a part of me was surprised
I knew it was You, I just needed to listen
I am trying to get rid of this hindering ability that I think I cannot give You offerings because it is too risky, or I am scared and nervous that I will mess up
Your patience is beautiful and I thank You for it
I think of You when the sun is out, I think of You when I see dandelions, I think of You many hours of the day
I am trying to pull myself back to You and the power You hold

thinking about how orpheus turning to look back at eurydice isn’t a sign of mortal frailness but a sign of love
“Eurydice, dying now a second time, uttered no complaint against her husband. What was there to complain of, but that she had been loved?” ― Ovid, Metamorphoses
This is true no matter the version you're reading.
1. Eurydice trips and Orpheus turns to help her because he loves her.
2. Orpheus cannot hear Eurydice behind him, and fearing that he's been tricked, turns to make sure she's there.
3. Orpheus makes it out of the Underworld, and so full of love and excitement to be with Eurydice, turns to embrace her, forgetting that they both need to be out of the Underworld.
No matter what happens in the story, Orpheus loses Eurydice because his love for her compels him to look.
