I havent seen anyone talk about the straight up r*pe scene in bridgerton and it pisses me off because if it were the black man doing it to the white women everyone would have brought it up by now.

I actually talked about it with @laurieteddy, that is my main problem with Bridgerton because not only does she do that, because it is a matter of not asking for consent and straight up forcing it, the show wants you to root for her when she was the one to be wrong about it, yes she could have been angry about Simon not telling her, but that was straight up fucked up. I saw someone defending Daphne over the fact that she does not comprehend it, and honestly, I do not think she does because at some extent she does not even understand the concept of sex, but it is still wrong, that is so wrong and it’s the reason why I simply ignore the existence of Daphne.

Simon was clear on it. He did not want children, and Simon always asked it for consent and straight up forcing him to have them is wrong. Daphne is wrong in this situation and it bothers me too that people ignore it.

I completely agree. Had it been that Simon wanted children and Daphne did not, and he made her do that there would’ve been outrage. And there should be for what did happen in the show. It was r*pe.

I’m not even surprised that it has been over looked, for a multitude of reasons, but it needs to be acknowledged. I’ve only seen a few articles about it and some, sadly, seem to be using it as an attention grabber instead of just talking about it.
