Sleep Inducing spell 🌚

Inspired by “Dauðalogn” by Sigur Ros 

“Dauðalogn” means “dead calm/quiet/still” in icelandic and the lyrics of this song made me want to make a spell out of it.

You will need:  🌚  A candle (purple, dark blues or white works best) 🌚  Lavender incense  🌚  A quiet place where you will not be disturbed 

What you do:  🌚  Find a quiet place where you can be alone and no one will disturb you. It can be outside like in the forest or your garden, but make sure no one will interact with you. ( I tried doing it right before going to bed for a quicker effect)

🌚  Light the candle and incense.

🌚  Enter a meditative state where you focus on shutting out all sounds. Try to make your mind and spirit completely calm and if your mind keeps wandering, you can focus on your breathing. 

🌚  Once you feel like everything is silent and your mind and spirit are completely calm and quiet, chant the following words:

A quiet home Not a hair on the head stirs Sounds grave-still  No one wakes up No rythm speeds up  Absolute dead calm

Inside I think  Forest lights reveal a fire One with myself Breathe in, breathe out

To complete the spell, put out the incense and candle.

This should leave you with a deep, restful sleep when you go to bed at night

i’m so sick of seeing people complain about the vague notion of “too many people are just saying they’re witches to be trendy and posting aesthetics instead of real content! they’re not real witches!”

who are you to judge? who are you to decide how real a witch they are?

i don’t even share the details of my spirituality with my best friends that are witches, how can you assume you know absolutely how dedicated a stranger or even a friend is? 

don’t like how someone is behaving in witchcraft? unless they’re hurting someone, either admit you’re trying to gatekeep or mind your own beeswax.

If your argument against gun control goes like this “what if a bad guy has a gun I need one to defend myself” then you’re already stating that a gun is a threat to the safety of those nearby. You’re tickling your ego by thinking you with your gun will be faster and smarter than the bad guy and frankly my life is not worth testing out your bullshit attitude. You already know guns are bad, you just think you with a gun is better. If they shoot you or you shoot them that’s the same number of people killed. The Witch Talks: The Spring Equinox

An Equinox is the moment in which the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the center of the sun. This occurs twice a year, in March (Vernal) and in September (Autumnal). On an Equinox, the duration of night and day are equal. This post refers to the Vernal (Spring) Equinox.

Most Spring holidays that occur around this time incorporate symbols of fertility and new life into their celebrations. These symbols include, but are not limited to, eggs, seeds and flowers, rabbits and sweets.

⛈️ Spell to Weather a Storm ⛈️

a spell to help  a person or relationship through a particular rough patch

⛈️ gather: a candle, thread, an athame or blessed knife, thyme and an orange

⛈️ perform spell during a rainstorm, when one begins. be prepared ahead of time as the rain may not last long. 

⛈️ when it begins to rain, collect some rainwater and bless the knife with it. 

⛈️ use the knife to peel/cut strips of the orange peel off.

⛈️ carve your, or you and your s.o.’s names into the side of the candle.

⛈️ wrap the peel around the candle and bind it with the thread

⛈️ dress the candle with thyme and light it. 

⛈️ have the candle burn the length of the storm, or as far down as it goes. do not leave the candle unattended while it burns.

Storm Magic

When the skies darken, you can sometimes feel the air inhale; you too take in a deep breath and share the energy trapped in your lungs

All is still, waiting, knowing not what the sky will leave in it’s wake

Thunder rumbles in the distance, greeting you as an old friend

There is a soft sound of rain, growing stronger, faster. Hitting the rooftops, pattering upon the leaves, its’ fall has a lyrical cadence

Wind whistles past, quick to greet you and quicker yet to dance away into unknowns

At night you look up, watching as the sky comes alight above you. Perhaps angry, or joyful, or proud: the clouds lack nothing of passion

Windows open, a breeze flows past with lingering touches of petrichor, roses, magic

Softness spreads. Birdsong rings out, gentle at first yet stonger each second, greeting the coming change of time

The air exhales

You have held your breath for so long. The magic passes with the storm, but it’s power lingers

Like rain unto earth, it soaked into your pores and flows through your bloodstream

Feel the clouds break. Let the sun warm your skin

Be mindful of the gut feelings you have about the weather. If it feels bad, it probably is. (That goes for anything really. If it feels wrong or off, it is, and its probably best to leave it alone/get outta there)

Clear Quartz can influence the power of a storm by being used to store a storm’s energy. Receiving energy from a storm weakens it while adding energy strengthens it. 

That said, be careful about how you use storm energy. Strengthening an already severe storm could have consequences for not just you, but people around you. 

Just because its overcast, doesn’t automatically mean it will rain. It means most of the conditions are right, but all the necessary conditions must be met before it can rain. A simple rain spell can usually fix this.

Cumulus clouds + sunlight = cumulonimbus clouds. If cumulus clouds begin building into towers early in the day, there’s a good chance of storms later on.

okay but what about witches who charge their ponytail holder with self empowerment spells or weave thread into their braid and black witches who use charms and ribbon in their dreads or cursing someone by twisting the ends of their hair and charging the motion with your spell like sort of along the lines of beauty magic but hair magic though

I was trapped at a bus stop one day while coming back from uni and the wind was whipped up and was pelting me with rain the second I stepped off the bus.

Normally I love walking in the rain, but my laptop was in my bag as well as my textbooks and I had a long walk home. Normally I would pull out some string so I could bind the storm until I got home - but I didn’t have any in my bag.

Getting a portion of my hair drenched in rainwater I quickly twisted, braided and knotted it while visualising the storm being trapped in my curls.

The wind and rain cleared up enough for me to walk home without getting drenched. Once I got home, I removed the knots and braids and untangled my hair while visualising freeing the storm back into the sky.
