Thanks for sending in a question! I don’t have an exact place to get witchy supplies, but looking at local bookstores, crystal/rock shops, buddhist healing stores often have a lot of stuff to. And whenever I need to connect with my deities, I rather say a small incantation, think strongly of them, meditate, or carry something around with me that represents them. Like a necklace, ring, etc.

Tools on a Budget

Alright, so I saw this post about how all you need for the craft is yourself and I found it really inspiring. Being a broom-closeted baby witch, trying to find herbs, essential oils, candles, etc has been difficult. People in the Wiccan community are all around us, and we don’t really know it. Alright, what I’m saying is that use your resources and any opportunity you can get. A witch is scrappy, and knows how to use any opportunity given to her.

Altoid Tin? Travel Altar

Popsicle Sticks? Makeshift Pendulum stand

Old ass candles? Candle magic or whatever

Connection to printer? Cut out pictures of deities for altars

Arrangements of flowers sent? Take of rose petals, say it’s to make the bud healthier

Window? Open shades for moonlight

Anything at all? BE CREATIVE, the craft isn’t all about following specific guidelines and doing only certain things, use your resources !

Freyja’s Rose Scrub

This is an original spell for self love and self care

Ingredients

* 1 cup of sugar

*1/2 cup of Coconut Oil

*Rose essential oil ( Optional)

*Dried rose petals ( Color doesn’t matter)

*Container

Steps

*Melt down coconut oil in 20 second increments

*Stir together coconut oil and sugar, while thinking of a love deity

*Add rose petals and essential oils

* Stir until well combined

Easy Ways to Connect More Strongly with your Deities

Say Good Morning when you wake up, say Good Night before you fall asleep

Share your food with them. If you’ve ever wanted some of your friend’s french fries, you know how they probably feel. 

Donate to causes that fall under the jurisdiction of your deity. Are they a goddess for women? Donate to a women’s shelter or Planned Parenthood. Is your deity a patron of the arts? Give to PBS or local theatres.

Cook a full meal in honor of your deity. Seriously. It sounds silly but you can definitely find a regional cookbook based on your pantheon to cook a full ass feast for them.

Write them letters or notes. Keep a little notebook of notes and letters to your deity. Did you see a cute cat that you think Frigga would’ve liked? Maybe you saw a girl’s outfit that would’ve made Aphrodite drool. Let them know, or give yourself a reminder to tell them about it later.

Change your phone background. Does your deity have a temple or built pantheon? Put that shit as your wallpaper! Did you find a picture that so perfectly captures the spirit of your deity? Make it your lock screen.

Make them a Mix Tape. You know, so you can belt out songs in their honor while making your way downtown. Faces pass. And you’re home bound. 

DIY your Altar. I’m not going to lie, I’m not to altar type. However, it is a fantastically personalized space that you can do anything with. So don’t let anyone stop you from knitting that mini statue of Hecate a scarf.

art museums

I love walking alone in an Art Museum..

It’s just that when I walk alone in a museum, I don't have to explain my thoughts every five seconds, but I can wander from piece to piece and not care at all. 

However, I think I found one exception. You know a person is your soulmate when you can walk in a museum with them and be perfectly content. Look for that, make your relationship that.
