Heyoooo everyone! Guess who's back after wayyyyy too long!
The past year has been rather hectic for me (y'all know what I'm talking about) but I'm back home, all cozy at my desk, and ready to lurk online like never before.
I'll try to be as active as I can be <3 My inbox is open if you guys wanna talk about anything!
the destigmatization of ghost types in the last decade has been a moderate success! unrelated: pokémon trainers deaths involving a mimikyu are at an all time high
Yeah it both warms my heart that people finally give a chance to ghost types and aren't as frightened. But ghost types, like dragon types for example, can be potentially dangerous if you don't know anything about them.
Hell, even as a ghost specialist, I still have gone through a fair share of life steal and am perpetually exhausted from being around ghosts all the type. Not their fault, that's just how they feed.
So yeah, PSA, do your research before getting a ghost type and don't hesitate to ask for help! If you're starting to feel more tired than usual after getting a ghost type, it's most likely NOT a coincidence.

Bouncing off of my last post, can we PLEASE TALK about the fact that one of the cemetery is A WILD ZONE, NOW?!!!!
Like, listen pspsppspspspsppss imma whisper a lil in your ear: I loooveeee that for my ghosties. Good on them, they got a place to roam in peace. Great. Fantastic!
But also this is making it near impossible for people to just... Go visit their loved ones?!!! The flowers on the graves get trampled or eaten, people including the groundskeeper get attacked by wild Pokemon who are aggressive all the time thanks to being forced to remain in one place, objects are stolen because Ghosts are mischievous little creatures... Yeah, no, worst place ever to put down a wild zone. Pokemon are naturally going to flock to a cemetery, but cutting it off and forcing them to stay within the perimeter of a cemetary is just hellish. No one wants to brave wild Pokemon, let alone some grieving person, just to see their family.
At least we still got the Lachaise cemetery... But I'm pretty sure it's not a wild zone because it's literally one of the most visited cemetery in the world by fellow hex maniacs and normie tourists—and is also far too big to be a full wild zone. (Good luck making a 4 hectar wild zone in the middle of LUMIOSE CITY)

It's crazy how much Lumiose is changing these days... These new renovation plans make it pretty difficult to navigate the city sometimes. But then again, I'm a country girl at heart; I already got lost within Lumiose without my friends to drive around.
Good post to go ahead and SHAME Professor Sycamore for his stupid purple Jeep that matches his stupid shirt. Who DOES THAT?!

its getting harder to tell if the malamar thing is just a funny trend or if people are genuinely getting manipulated by a pokemon. probably a mix of both?
i swear we aren't brainwashed in our household, at least. we stocked up on talismans since a different ghost related incident. they should work on psychic manipulation as well
Ok so sorry wife but I can confirm what @uncle-dusknoir is saying. Our charms are mostly to keep our ghostly roommates contained within the house or keep them away from certain areas. I ain't an expert on psychic types, but I've heard of white noise machines or some other device that disturb their concentration, making them vacate an area/unable to use their moves correctly. You can get some on Amazon but the real good ones usually cost quite a penny and are only available for Pokemon labs or big facilities, and not really to your regular Joe.
So, in the unlikely event we get hounded by some Malamar, I'd like to say we are fucked 💜💜💜
if you two have any experience in cleanse tags (or have any interest in, perhaps, paying a local hex maniac to make them) it's not incredibly difficult to make cleanse tags tailored towards warding off psychic or dark types. most of the work comes in how you charge the paper, but there's some symbology that can make them more accurate
Interesting! Thanks for the info! I'll have to reach out to someone, I... Got no clue how to make that and I'm not feeling like DIY-ing something this important. Thankfully in Kalos, we got a surprisingly active community of hex maniacs!

Of course he said I should come with him, take a vacation he said.
Dude, I live in a dark spooky forest for a reason, if I walk out into direct sunlight I sunburn so bad I risk bursting into flames. Not to mention I just took in Camellia (the sinistea that's been living in my cabinet) and I can't just leave while it's getting adjusted.
And his response was to just bring Camellia and the other ghosts with me. As if it's easy to wrangle multiple ghost types with different needs and temperaments on a long trip like that. Not to mention none of them are registered to my name and are technically wild, and that's not going to fly legally.
Like, I love my brother and hope he has fun battling and all that, but I just cannot randomly go on a massive trip like that.

OMG. I remember when my wife went to take a vacation in Alola. That was like a year ago or something. I eventually joined her through circumstances and... UGHHhhh like, beautiful region, beautiful people, beautiful Pokémon... But for the love of everything holy, going to the beach was a death trap. I was sweating and pale and dying all over the sand. My only happy time was when I willingly stuck my hand into a Sandygast so I could feel some amount of cold while buried in the sand. Felt like home.
I was sunburnt like never before. Never ever leaving my Trevenant forest ever again to go to Alola.
(I'll try to find some photos of the trip if I can. They must be buried somewhere on my harddrive)
i mean... what if we went not during the height of summer next time? we could go to the mountain on ula'ula to cool off too...
