LAVIYUU + space au please <3333
“Do you want me to say something meaningful,” Lavi says through gritted teeth, “like ‘I’d follow you across galaxies’ or ‘I’d follow you through supernovas’ or something like that, is that what it’ll take?”
“No, and the second’s impossible,” Kanda says, sounding bored as he leans against his fancy little spaceship (”It’s an interstellar navigator”), sounding like he truly doesn’t care, and the sun slips beneath the mountains in the distance, leaving his face nothing but two pinpricks where his eyes are - Lavi can feel him watching, and waiting, and maybe even hoping for the argument to continue.
Andromeda’s arm is visible in the sky tonight, dark space dust surrounded by a purple glow, and Lavi can’t let Kanda fly out of it without him, won’t let Kanda pretend that he wants to go alone.

#49 “I may be an idiot, but I’m your idiot.”
The last rays of the sunset peeked through the trees as Kanda and Lavi walked through the park. The day had been a scorcher, but the air finally began to cool down after the near-unbearable heatwave. Lavi wiped at his forehead, sweat still prickling near his hairline. “C’mon, Yuu. You gotta pick something.”“I don’t care,” Kanda replied, shoving his hands in his pockets and not bothering to keep up with Lavi’s faster pace.

if this is not what happened after they came back from the ark and had to sleep at the infirmary with krory’s loud stomach noises, then idk what to say
31 for laviyuu? I'm such a sucker for this pairing and you write them so beautifully *cries*
31. Inawe, the first time you realised it
Kanda doesn’tsay it out loud.
But it enoughthat the words even settle on his tongue, though he remains tight lipped androoted to the spot when it almost slips through. There’s nothing in particularthat leads up to this moment, he thinks, Lavi is still blabbering on aboutsomething he’s not listening to, hands gesturing wildly in the air with apizza in one of those hands.
“—uu? Yuu?”Lavi peers at him, mouth half chewing his pizza slice. “Are you listening tome?”
“No,” Kandaanswers honestly, snapping out of his daze. “Stop eating that shit, it’s disgusting.”
Lavi lookspersonally offended, stuffing the rest of the pizza into his mouth in defiance.“Your loss, whatever,” the redhead says, pulling the pizza box closer to him. “Anyway,as I was saying, I—“
Kanda tunes himout again, reflex maybe, from all the crap he’s been forced to suffer for thenumerous years they’ve known each other, with just the resounding oh in his head.
He can’t say hedidn’t see this coming—Lenalee hasn’t been subtle about hinting there should besomething between Lavi and him for years, Allen sometimes even explicitly muttersat him to just date Lavi already—but he alsodidn’t fucking see this coming; sure he cares about the dumb redhead morethan he’d like to admit, and Lavi is attractive, yeah, when’s the other is notdoing some weird winking/blinking attempt and has his mouth firmly shut, but that’s different from suddenlyhaving an epiphany one day that he’s inlove.
That his heartdoes this weird flippy thing when Lavi bites off another mouthful of thatdisgusting pizza slice. That he’d be happy if they were like just like this, together, fifty years on and Lavi talking his ears off while he pretends not tolisten. Well he isn’t listening this time because he’s just in awe of his newfound feelings. Or maybe he’s just in awe that he could fall for someone so…so…annoyingand reliable and irritating and patient and, and—
“—Yuu, you’rezoning out again,” Lavi prods him with a frown, using his oily fingers onpurpose. “What’s bothering Yuu?”
Kanda shouldreally kill him for the stupid name pun, but he’s thrown off his curve toosuddenly to react properly. “Nothing.”
“Mm,” Lavi humsindulging. “Well I’m here if you’re ready,” he says in a completely normal toneof voice. “Do you want me to talk more, or…?”
“What?”
“I said, do youwant me to talk some more,” Lavi repeats slowly, eye flickering at him inconcern. “You’ve been really out of it since I sat down here, I thought itmight help if you stopped thinking about whatever you’re thinking so hardabout. Your brain will die from overload at this rate, Yuu—“
“You asshole—”
“Just lookingout for ya,” Lavi winks at him. “So. You wanna talk about it? Or you can have apizza slice.”
Lavi waggleshis eyebrows at him like there’s only two choices—Kanda snorts; talking aboutit? Maybe in another ten years.
He grabs apizza slice.

Maybe laviyuu + “Just because.” Please?
sorry this took a while. i am posting this while at work, shhhh
this one is part of my across universes AU; where canon-dgm Lavi and Kanda cross a portal to modern day AU and met their counterparts who are older and also in an established relationship. for more background to this verse read this first.
24. “Just because.
The 21st century is kind of great. For one, there’sthe internet. Lavi has always knownthat the science department were on the cutting age of technology and some ofthe things here are basically commercially available products of the samething, like their golem and hand-held phones for instance, but the internet, ohgod, the internet.
Sure he’s supposed to be trying to find out how he and Kandacan get home, and his modern day counterpart said he should try the internet…sincethere was nothing to lose. Maybe there were people out there who travelled forwardsin time like they did, the other Lavi said whilst grinning and shrugging, obviously not that invested in helping them.
So Lavi has been wasting his time on his counterpart’slaptop for the past week, occasionally reading conspiracy stories and gettingdistracted by Wikipedia—maybe, maybe if he could figure out how time travelworked, space-time theory and all that, he could figure a way to send themhome. At some point. Maybe.
Lavi groans, knocking his head on the table. He just kind ofwants to go home, and he’s sure Kanda’sgetting increasingly irritated the longer they stay in their counterparts’apartment. It’s not that their otherselves aren’t treating them well—as decent as an annoyed Kanda at least—but it’sjust weird as fuck when they can hear through the walls the physical activity that goes on at nightin the master bedroom. And of course the blatant display of public affectionfrom the older redhead every single minute that they’re in any room together.
“That smells so good,” the other Lavi hums, crowding theother Kanda against the stove which the half-Japanese was stirring something inthe slow cooker in the open kitchen right in front of Lavi. “Like you.”
The other Lavi coughs in pain when a sharp elbow gets jammedinto his gut. “Don’t be disgusting,” the other Kanda says, pulling away with aneyeroll before looking at Lavi. “Oi, you.”
“Uh, yeah?”
“Don’t touch this. If you want food, go out and getsomething for yourself,” the other Kanda glares. “Or starve. I don’t care.”
“Okay…”
“Fuck, I’m late for work,” the other Kanda curses, glancingat the clock. “Rabbit, seriously, let me go—“
“Wait, wait, wait!” the older Lavi pleads, pulling hispartner back before the other leaves through the door.
Lavi turns his eyes away when his other counterpart kisses Kanda—well, other Kanda, goodthing his Kanda is in the room meditating or something—long and deep and—Lavi coughsuncomfortably when he’s sure they’ve been kissing for more than a minute, don’tthey need to breathe or something?
He glances at the couple just in time to catch his other selfsmile with the most lovesick expression and plant a gentle kiss on the otherKanda’s cheek.
The other Kanda raises an eyebrow with a grimace, handswiping his cheek. “…What was that for.”
The other redhead shrugs. “Mm, just because.”
Other Kanda gives the other a weird look and pushes himalmost gently away. “I’m late.”
“Yeah, yeah. See you tonight, Yuu!” Other Lavi calls, andglances back at Lavi at the table, who’s ended up staring with wisteduncomfortable pursed lips, with a smirk. “…What are you looking at, junior?”
17 for laviyuu? (if... it's not too late haha)
it’s been a while. Kanda is oddly nice in this one.
17. “Watch your step.”
Lavi isn’t sure why they always end up in a haunted house.Granted, there’s no such thing as ghosts—except maybe paranormal activity that’sbecause of innocence going haywire, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s always creepy as shit and Lavi really, really hates being stuck in a place that’s creepy as shit. His partner (incrime) seems to disregard the creepy walls and creepy stairs and creepy dustand simply moves from room to room, trying to spot anything usual that couldpass off for the crystal that they’re meant to retrieve.
“Will you stop following me around?” Kanda clicks his tonguein annoyance, using his foot to nudge open one of the doors to peek in. “Gomake yourself useful and check the other damn floor.”
“Fuck, couldn’t you have waited for tomorrow for one of thevillagers to lead us? It’s like seven thirty, I’m hungry,” Lavi grumbles, hesitantly looking around.
There’s a picture frame on the corridor wall and all theeyes of the people in that picture has been scratched out.
“And risk akuma stealing off with the innocence tonight?”Kanda scoffs. “The faster you find the innocence the faster we can get out ofhere.”
“You don’t even know if it’s here, at all,” Lavi huffs. “If you’d just have let me talk to more peoplein the bar, I would’ve—“
Kanda sours. “Are you scared?”
“—w-what? No!”Lavi spits, glaring. “Of course not.”
Kanda raises an eyebrow at him. “Then go check the otherdamn floor.”
“I-I…I don’t even know how the innocence looks like anyway!”
“You’ll know it when you see it,” Kanda replies, soundingunconcerned. “Why are you shouting? There’s no one here besides us.”
Of course there’sno one here, it’s haunted; Lavi takesin a deep breath, ready to retort when he realises that Kanda is calm.Unnaturally calm. And looking at him with a dead expression with no trace ofannoyance except for glint in the other’s eyes—fuck, Kanda knows he’s scared out of his wits and is taking great amusement init.
“Yuu, come on,” Lavi pleads. “We’ve been here for an hour and we haven’t seen anything that—…”he squeaks, voice going high when a crash like glass shattering sounds frombelow them. “What was that?”
“The wind,” Kanda replies.
“That was. Not thewind,” Lavi grinds his teeth, on the verge of whimpering. “Oh my god, Yuu, we’regonna die, we’re fucking gonna die, well you can’t but I can and I don’t wanna—“
Kanda shoves him out of the way and starts walking.
“W-wait, where are you going?”
“To check out what that was,” Kanda rolls his eyes, sighingwhen Lavi clutches his arm. “I’m giving you one second to stop touching me, rabbit.”
“No, no, no, we’re not going to my death, Yuu, please, let’sleave,” Lavi babbles, refusing to let go even as Kanda tries to push his faceaway. “Come on, we can come back tomorrow, or never, ha, ha ha ha—“
“You idiot, the front door is downstairs anyway,” Kandagrunts, successfully kicking the redhead off him, who clutches his shin inpain. “If you want to leave.”
“Okay,” Lavi nods vigorously, rubbing his shin just asvigorously. “But we are not checking that..t-that thing out!”
Kanda looks at him with that dead blank stare again and he knowsKanda is laughing at him. On theinside.
“Are you done pissing your pants?
“I am not—“
It’s a smirk. It’s a definitely a smirk. “Shut up. Let’s go.”
Lavi bites on his lip before he says anymore; if he annoysKanda then he’s sure they won’t leave this creepy place any time soon. In hisslight relief he ends up walking in front of Kanda towards the stairs, eager toget out, but before he takes the first step Kanda grabs his arm tightly, hauling him backwards.
“Watch your step, idiot,” Kanda mutters, and Lavi realisesthat he was just about to step into a hole through the wooden steps.
Without other word Kanda moves in front of him, body like ashield as Kanda leads him down the steps, not even snapping at him when hegrabs the edge of Kanda’s coat for support while he gingerly takes carefulsteps down.
It might all just be him, but Lavi cries a little on theinside.

drabble: all day long [laviyuu]
[some happier au]
A clap of thunder wakes Lavi up. The room is gloomy, gray to the corners.
“Finally up?” Kanda says.
Lavi stretches his arms over his head, touches the wall. The toes of his right foot brush against Kanda’s, and he nudges them together. He scrubs his hands through his hair, then his palms over his face. Tired noises gutter their way out of him.
“How late is it?” he finally says, turning toward Kanda, who is propped on his side and looks at him with much amusement, hair well slept on.
“It’s late.”
Thunder rumbles, sounding like it is right overhead. Lavi’s tongue is still heavy in his mouth.
“Well, I’m not goin’ out in this shitty weather. Whattaya wanna do all day long, Yuu?”
Kanda touches his stomach, fingers brushing across his skin right above the line of the blanket. Lavi can tell he’s in one of his sly moods, wearing a smile that says he is planning things. A hunch that is confirmed when Kanda says, “You.”

“Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.” laviyuu please?
Notes: AHAhaha I am sosorry I took forever to get to this, I had to kick my ass to answer orelse I’ll never get to it when RL shizz smacks me in the face later thisweek. I am also sorry this one will be a little triggery (and personal)—it justimmediately reminded me of Redemption, which, I guess you can take this as partof the verse (TDLR: Kanda has anxiety and they deal with it).
TW for anxiety attack.
It happens on some days.
But some days are enoughdays that Kanda has grown so tired of it, over the years.
When he finds himselfslouching over the sink with the bathroom door locked behind him at 6 a.m. inthe morning whilst Lavi snores in their bed, he finds it hard to believe thathe’s getting better, or whatever shithe’d like to believe. He doesn’t understand why he wakes up feeling like heneeds to throw up his empty stomach especially when there’s no reason for it. Thisisn’t about Lavi, he knows that much, since it happens even when Lavi isn’taround. He’d just opens his eyes in the morning and he’d immediately feel thatchurn in his gut and know it’s going to be a terrible day.
He breathes hard, tryingto get that sickly feeling under control. He counts to twenty with Alma’s voicein his head, he rinses his face under the water, but nothing really helps—the nauseasits there like an infestation under his skin that he can never claw out.
One, two, three, andthere it is again, the disgusting lurch at the back of his throat, and hewrenches his eyes shut when he gags, fists clenched hard. It takes him tenminutes more to lean his entire weight on his arms at the side of the sink, alreadyfeeling a headache on coming from how tiredhe is of all this.
He has his eyes closedand mind drifting, which is why he doesn’t hear the first knock upon thebathroom door, which proceeds into a more frantic rhythm after.
“—Yuu? Are you in there?”
Kanda nearly snorts—who elsewould it be? Lavi has woken up and found him in here too many times by thispoint to warrant asking that.
“Are you dying? If you’renot, say something.”
Kanda rolls his eyes, dragging himself to stand upright, but he stays silent.
“Come on, Yuu. Open up?Please?”
He hates this part themost, because he knows exactly how Lavi will look at him when he does, like theredhead is sorry he has this, and—andhe’s sorry too, he’s fucking sorry that he’s like this and nothing has or will change it.
“Yuu?” Lavi whispers, soft amidst the silence. “I can come back if you need to be alone. Just let meknow you’re okay.”
Kanda breathes in, and forceshimself to flick the lock off. The door immediately creaks open after thesound, albeit slowly. A mob of messy red hair peaks through the gap with onegreen eye.
“Hey,” Lavi greets, lipscreased into a half-worried smile.
Kanda doesn’t have thestrength to greet him back, neither does he have the strength to protest whenthe redhead wraps his arms around his shoulders, fingers gently cascadingthrough the strands of hair at the back of his neck.
“…I can’t do thisanymore,” Kanda mutters, finally giving in, sinking his weight onto the other.
“You have been. Youwill,” Lavi murmurs, cradling him tight. “How else will I ever hold you in myarms?”
Kanda jabs his gut, andLavi winces his chuckle. He cups Kanda’s cheek, leaning slightly back so thathe can look at the other.
“I’m with you, okay?” hesays against Kanda’s lips, staring into those dark blue eyes. “Always.”
#6 - Laviyuu - but Kanda's the naked one XD
#6: Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?”
“Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?” Lavi smirks, eyebrows waggling, but if Kanda was less preoccupied about cursing the beansprout to oblivion, he’d notice that the redhead’s tone of voice actually edges into barely concealed shock.
Fucking.
Utter.
Humiliation.
And also the beansprout’s death sentence blares heavily across Kanda’s mind. The worst part is, he can’t actually remember the reason he’s naked in Lavi’s bed—or how he got into Lavi’s room for that matter, maybe the constantly unlocked door (fuck you rabbit), who knows—but he does remember many drinking games and a stupid agreement to take a dare while at it. The only consolation that he has is that the fucking white-haired cheater is somewhere else on campus with a massive hangover and Lenalee will shake her head in disappointment when she finds the other sprawled on the concrete or something.
Kanda, on the other hand, never has hangovers no matter how much he drinks which is a saving grace on most occasions. Except this one, when Lavi is staring at him smugly with a raised eyebrow and he can’t even feign a headache to get out of this because he doesn’t have fucking headaches after drinking.
He can’t help the red flush colouring up his neck—damn his pale complexion—which makes him angry, and so the red flush becomes more of an angry red flush than a red flush for a stupid, embarrassing, humiliating reason; that he kind of maybe sort of…has…f…eeling….s….for the redhead which he has yet to really figure out.
It’s weird and he hates it because Lavi has been hitting on him since high school and he has suffered every form of (bad) seduction techniques for three whole years and then suddenly, one fucking fine day in his second year of college, his stomach did this flip-flop thing when Lavi hugged him in excitement for getting accepted into some prestigious internship for the summer, he doesn’t even know what, and that was just the start of many stomach flip-flops that came after.
And now being naked doesn’t help that feeling very much, especially when Lavi actually sets his books down on his desk and waits for an answer.
“I need pants,” Kanda says instead, putting on his most annoyed voice—hopefully Lavi will let him live this down quietly—ha, fat hope.
“You live like, next door,” Lavi replies, still grinning.
So what if he lives next door—he’s not going to do a walk of shame (however misunderstood) for 0.2 seconds in their corridor.
“Rabbit,” he growls, threatening.
“Yuu,” Lavi returns in a singsong.
“Lavi,” he amends after a pause. “Get me some pants.”
Lavi laughs while he walks to his closet to dig and eventually flings a pair of shorts towards Kanda. “Ya know, you could’ve just taken it yourself.”
–and flash his naked ass at the pervert who has photographic memory while at it? No thanks.
Kanda grumbles and pulls the shorts on under the covers before finally stepping out, scowling the immediate moment that Lavi wolf whistles and looks pointedly at his abs. Kanda hates how hot his face is getting—it’s just, fucking embarrassing, okay, and nothing to do with the fact that he l-l…ike…s—he stops in mid rant when he realises Lavi has his phone out and pointed at him—
“Oh, fuck no—“ he hisses as he lunges for the redhead who is about to take a goddamn picture.
“Come on, Yuu!” Lavi whines, dodging too late as he gets tackled to the floor rather painfully, phone somehow flying safely to bounce on the bed.
“Why do you always try shit like this?” Kanda demands, nearly strangling the other.
“Well—ack—I mean, you’re so hot, it’s a crime to—gah, Yuu, I can’t—can’t breathe—shit, hah—“
Kanda sincerely chokes him for three seconds before letting go, eyes narrowed. “I can’t believe Lenalee told me to give you a chance,” he mutters angrily, grinding the back of his teeth. “You piece of—fuck,” he ends off in aggravation, breathing heavily.
He expects some kind of whine in return which is why he squints down at the redhead when all he gets is silence. Lavi blinks at up him with the other’s mouth agape.
“…Give me a chance?” Lavi repeats dumbly, and Kanda instantly realises what he said. “D-do you mean that? Yuu…a-are you—do you…—“
But Lavi never gets to finish his sentence, because Kanda stands up and stalks off red-faced, slamming the door behind him.
