Have gotten seriously sucked into Guardian.

Been binging on it for the past few days. Only on episode 13 but have been watching like CRAZY every chance I get. Not good.

Also found the Chinese web novel. Am reading it along while watching. The novel is almost completely different because they changed so much in the show due to censorship, so it’s actually very enjoyable together. 

Learned a new word in Chinese: “communist style bromance” aka BL aka ‘totally gay but can’t say it due to censorship but everyone involved including the cast/director/writer/audience all knew exactly wtf is happening and is acting accordingly”

Show got banned on Youku NOT SURPRISED oh the Chinese comments on Youtube are f-ing hilarious.

Everyone in the show’s eyebrow game are on point. Like, I’ve never noticed a collective awesomeness in eyebrow grooming but everyone look so good lol

Boy my reasons for choosing what to watch lately has been terrible.

Voltron - oh someone on my tumblr dash ships people in there let’s check it out Guardian - ditto Hannibal - ditto (although this has turned out to be a great thing because I genuinely like the show a lot now) A Very English Scandal/London Spy/Cloud Atlas - Ben Whishaw gets naked and kisses men on screen? sign me up (yeah...these aren't great, except AVES, which is ok, but only because I like black humor) Lilting - same as above, and the fact it’s half Chinese, but this film is exceptionally good so no regrets whatsoever Recent Bond films - need to write a convincing James for fanfic let’s do research (probably the most semi-legitimate reason) And now, I want to watch Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, because I just want to stare at Daniel Craig in glasses.

I wonder if everyone else has non-trashy reasons to watch things. Like ‘oh I’m watching this documentary because it saves the world’ or some such.
