It starts simply, a quick peck to your boyfriends lips as you climb into bed beside him. Then, another kiss when you crawl on top of him and settle on his chest, head tilted up to admire his beauty.
Your lips find his nose, peppering tiny kisses over the pale skin and working over his cheeks, watching his eyes flutter when you got closer to them. A few more were pressed against his lips before you glanced up and realised his eyes had flickered shut permanently. You pushed your head up and pressed more kisses against his forehead, feeling his grip on your waist loosen as he fell deeper into sleep.
You held back a quiet laugh as you felt his chest rise and fall in even rhythms, finally getting the rest it deserved after a hard day of fighting curses. As you tip off his chest and settle next to him on the bed, his arm falls to the mattress and a deep rumble emits from his chest. Yuta looks so peaceful like this, the constant frown lines on his forehead gone when he’s deep in unconsciousness, no longer worrying about the dangers of the world and trying to protect everyone he cares for.
It’s amusing how he falls asleep from only the gentle caress of your lips against his skin, and even more amusing when he wakes up a few hours later, blindly reaching for you as you watch TV and stuff your hand in a bag of popcorn.
“Baby?” He asks curiously, sitting up and blinking the sleepiness away, slender fingers reaching to touch yours. “How long was I asleep for?”
“A couple of hours.” You shrug and turn to him, breaking out in a smile seeing his disheveled hair. “You fell asleep when I was kissing you.”
His eyes find yours immediately before he groans in embarrassment. “Sorry, darling. I was tired from my mission.”
“It’s okay. It was cute, really.”
“Cute?” He croaks out.
You nod. “I’m starting to think I have magical sleeping powers.”
before yuuta left for africa, you remember him to be scrawny, about the same height as you, all elbows and knees. he would stutter when you caught his gaze for too long and your pinkies would hook when you walked home together, headphones shared, heads tilted close. behind the school building, you’d trade snacks and he’d blush when you brushed crumbs off of his shirt. sometimes you’d sit together on the curb, knees touching, as he let you doodle little shapes on his arm.
and you remember the kisses. quick, clumsy pecks that made you giggle. sometimes his eyes stayed open, as if to memorize your face. his fingers fumbled, shifting from your shoulders to your back again, unsure where to touch, but each kiss felt like a tiny discovery. a small, shared secret, leaving a lingering warmth on both your cheeks long after.
when he returned, you barely recognized him. you were surprised at how much had changed. you had to look up at him now; his shoulders were broader, his frame taller, and he moved with purpose. the nervous, fumbling gestures of before gone.
now, yuuta’s hands find your waist naturally. he’s less shy, more present, and he initiates contact without hesitation: brushes a strand of hair from your face, nudges you gently as you walk, leans closer when he laughs, adjusts your jacket without asking and lets his hand linger briefly on your lower back when guiding you.
and the awkward, clumsy pecks changed. his kisses are bolder, and he’s the one guiding you now. he chases your lips relentlessly, presses you against walls or the edge of tables, hands linger on your waist and lower back. each kiss lingers longer, heavier, more urgent than before, perhaps to make up for lost time. his hands roam along your body, leaving you breathless.
yuuta is more confident now. in himself, in what he wants from you. he knows he never wants the same distance between you two as there was when he was away. he wants you close, always close, and certain of the bond that ties you together. he isn’t the same blushing boy anymore when he’s over you, pulling his shirt off ♡
Yuuta had never really thought about sex. Not until you became his girlfriend but even then his thoughts were polite, tame, reserved — much like the rest of him.
All of that purity and self control shatters the moment Yuuta sees you wearing glasses for the first time. He hadn’t seen you wear them before this but Yuuta couldn’t really bring himself to bother about the details because he’s growing a hard on.
Your glasses aren’t even anything grand or special, just a pair of plastic frames that sit pretty on your face. Yuuta thought himself to be a respectful man so the fact that he’s turning this pure image of you into something sexual makes him feel like a complete pervert.
He doesn’t act on these thoughts at first. Forcing his erections down and ignoring it as much as possible but the thoughts only get dirtier.
What started as thoughts of kissing you with your glasses on spiraled into full on lewd images of you in different positions, glasses askew and fogged up. He imagines thrusting into you and jostling your glasses just enough that you have to push them back up your nose with shaky hands. And it gets him so hard. It comes to a point where Yuuta can only think about fucking you.
But of course, Yuuta being the man that he is, keeps all of this a secret. He doesn’t even hint at the fact that he thinks you look pretty with your glasses on. He doesn’t want you to find out about this. He doesn’t want you to think that he’s a pervert because he’s not! He’s just going through a weird time right now :(
baby yuji has a fever and husband!sukuna is not super normal about it
a small rag is dipped soaking up icy cold water from a bowl, the humidity of the room let out by a slightly ajar window.
you twist the rag wringing out any extra water,
“it’ll be a bit cold okay, yu?” you assure yuji your poor 4 yo baby who had just come down with a fever.
he must’ve caught it from kindergarten.
yuji tugs at the blanket covering his form and nods a small pout on his baby features. he proceeds to wince at the cold rag pressed to his forehead as you coo trying to calm him down, your worry evident.
“it’s not that cold, brat”
your husbands voice cuts sharp through your assurances, you raise your gaze to shoot him a glare the attempt futile because sukuna is too busy having a staring contest with his son.
“it is cold dad”
sukuna tuts crossing his arms.
“well toughen up”
“i am tough! i am tough! mommy tell him”
sukuna reaches out placing the back of his hand against yuji’s chubby cheek.
still warm he thinks, his mind clouded with doubt and frustration until he feels your touch on his arm.
you brush your thumb there understanding, knowing. sukuna’s expression is conflicted he’s bursting with worry and your touch sends some form of assurance causing him to look at you.
“he’ll be okay” you mouth trying not to let yuji see how weak both his parents are when it comes to him.
sukuna looks at you debating your words and then finally relents closing his eyes and sighing. he trusts you.
you resume your previous notion. the room filled with splashing sounds of the wet rag being dipped then wrung out and yuji babbling about one thing or another already starting to miss school and his friends.
you continue working meticulously only stopping when precipitate builds up on your own forehead and bringing up an arm to rub it off.
sukuna who’d been observing the both of you silently now steps in taking the rag from your hand asking you to move over.
your son who’d been at the verge of sleep now mutters “but i want mommy to do it..”
“yeah yeah why don’t you get better and stop me then huh?” sukuna sneers.
you leave both father and son alone to get a refill on the ice only to come back to a sleeping yuji and a softened sukuna at his side, his shoulders slumped eyebrows knitted with worry.
you watch him dab yujis face carefully every motion deliberate as if he was a fragile little thing and to sukuna he was.
you’re sure of it then that his words had no bite.
sukuna senses you return back to his side, he takes the ice from you putting it aside with the rag. his strong arms pull you in.
your face coming to rest in the crook of his neck.
“he’ll be okay, don’t worry your head off” he murmurs and you melt your exhaustion fading away.
because seriously what is better than a caring sukuna?
firefly; i wrote this based off of how my mom would take care of me when i had a fever as a child and also my undying maternal love towards yuji itadori❀ུ͏
sukuna sighs, watching you from his peripheral vision and rocking two year old baby yuji in his lap who’s currently distracted playing with his own hands.
you’re curled up on the sofa with your legs touching the side of his lap and your nose buried into a novel.
at your lack of response he sighs louder.
you poke him with your toe indulging, “what is it?”
“talk to me”
“i’m reading”
persistent he repeats, “talk to me”
“you heard me” you peer up at him over your book, not annoyed just invested in the story.
a beat passes then two,
“wife, talk to me”
“words lose their meaning when persistently repeated husband”
he rolls his eyes and crosses his arms feigning ignorance at your words.
too egotistical to give them weight yet still contradicted by simply being needy.
“take him, he wants you” sukuna says gesturing to his son.
“he seems pretty content to me” you look up scrunching your nose at baby yuji who just giggles and scrunches his nose back.
sukuna’s jaw ticks, an expression missed by you which is why you don’t anticipate his next move.
in a blur of motions he sets yuji on his back and comes and lays on top of you. his entire weight pressing in, caging your body with baby yuji on top as if forming a human pyramid.
“mmph-hey!” you squeal in protest and shock.
your senses are invaded by sukuna’s quite masculine scent along with his heavy yet warm comforting weight.
baby yuji enjoying his high viewpoint attempts to stand up but pathetically slips and plops right back down on top of the both of you on sukuna’s shoulders, erupting with a loud giggle.
sukuna wraps his arms around your waist not letting go prompting you to glance down at him.
he looks blissful.
an image of true contentment laying on top of his wife who wouldn’t give him attention earlier and his son who well he loved too much to bear.
squished here your novel set aside long forgotten you felt it too a sense of warmth.
and hmm maybe you were both just needy after all.
firefly; i just love the concept of sukuna being a dad to baby yuji ❀ུ͏
under sukuna’s observation, you always seemed to have small things you did in routine, and since the two of you had gotten married they’d increased in frequency.
currently you’re curled up in bed next to him, scrolling on your phone, where he is obliged to watch because according to you, this is ‘bonding time’.
“i don’t want to watch this” he flicks your screen, moving onto the next video.
your features scrunch up into a frown, “but i do!” you scroll back.
sukuna pokes your cheek with a finger, “i don’t”
“since when did you get so demanding?” you raise a brow.
“you married me” he remarks.
“actually you proposed, twice, remember?” you pause thoughtfully, for nostalgia ofcourse “but this is important, let me watch”
sukuna playfully rolls his eyes, “you watch liquids with weird consistencies and people calling it a ‘slime unboxing’ what is so important about this?”
you huff, stray piece of your hair flying up, “i watch it because it’s satisfying”
“oh right satisfying” he mocks your tone.
“kuna!” you nudge his side, and he laughs, his arm which you were currently laying on pulls you in tighter so he could nuzzle your cheek.
“i’m trying to relax and you’re laughing!” you say with a dramatic flare, resuming the video with a pout.
and then suddenly out of nowhere, a small head of pink hair pops up between the two of you under the blanket, little eyes focused on the ‘slime unboxing’ playing on your phone.
you exchange a look with your husband before you burst into laughter, clutching your stomach.
baby!yuji blinks staring at you and then his father, as if his appearance out of thin air was completely normal.
catching your breath, you rub a stray tear of joy from the side of your eye, lightly tugging your son’s cheek, “yuji, when did you get here?”
he thinks, quite hard for a three year old then replies bluntly, “yuji walk”
without any explanation, sukuna picks yuji up lifting him into the air while laying down on his back. yuji now completely helpless, flails around giggling.
“how did you get here son?” sukuna blows raspberry’s onto yuji’s tummy, causing him to erupt into further bouts of giggles.
“i walk! i walk!” yuji exclaims kicking his legs with excitement.
you rest your face on sukuna’s shoulder, your cheek smushed up, as you suggest “i think he flew”
“yeah? did you fly son? like this?” he moves yuji around the air like a plane, “does yuji have powers?” sukuna’s voice booms out, full of endearment.
yuji covers his face with his tiny hands, smiling and shaking his head no.
“i think we believe him” you nod, meeting your husbands gaze and returning yuji to his rightful slot between the two of you.
the slime unboxing video continues with one unwilling and two willing viewers.
“how did he get on the bookshelf?” you remark in disbelief.
your four year old, baby!yuji is currently perched up on the half bookshelf as if he owns the place.
“get down, brat” sukuna bares his teeth.
and yuji mimics his expression, sticking out his milk teeth as a retort.
you pinch your nose shaking your head.
the more yuji grew the more he acted like his father, sukuna.
at multiple separate incidents you’d caught on to their similar antics.
one time, you woke up from a nap with four crimson eyes blinking down at you, two smaller and two larger.
you jumped awake, “what?” you muttered looking between both father and son.
you were used to waking up to sukuna simply watching you sleep but for that to be doubled seemed to puzzle you.
“what?” sukuna shrugged, “whath..?” yuji chimed in.
such incidents just kept on happening.
after years of marriage you’d become used to sukuna’s strange albeit adoring habits.
anytime you both would be sitting idly with you in his arms he’d lean down and nibble onto your ear or your cheek. his canines brushing up on your skin.
you’d giggle in response pushing his face away, the habit so common that you didn’t choose to question its…cannibalistic nature.
until yuji did it to you.
“mama”
your eyes flicked down to your son, attentive.
“i have a secret” he motioned you to come closer and so you did.
his baby hands held your face as he feigned whispering in your ear. choosing instead to bite it lightly and give you the sweetest kiss on your cheek.
you cuddled him afterwards your cuteness aggression towards him skyrocketing as he squealed in your arms.
looking at yuji on the bookshelf now you shoot sukuna a look.
“it’s because of you”
sukuna looks at you aghast “how the hell-“
“you like sitting at an elevated spot”
“not the same thing” sukuna huffed under his breath grabbing yuji by his back like a stray kitten.
most kids would’ve cried at being treated like this but yuji just cheered “papa higher!” as if this was the best thing to happen to him.
you’d left sukuna in charge of clipping baby!yuji’s nails.
to be honest, the action was much tedious and you loved to annoy sukuna with silly tasks he deemed were below him.
regardless, your husband did not possess the power to say no to your orders. hence, here he’s sat trying to unfurl his sons fist.
“c’mon kid, don’t be tough on your old man” sukuna narrowed his eyes, focusing.
yuji gives him a bashful smile and tightens his fists, just as stubborn as his father. his little legs dangled from the chair, swaying back and forth.
“wife, help me out” sukuna said pointedly looking over to you in the kitchen.
you shrugged back.
muttering and grunting under his breath, sukuna finally gets yuji to open up his fist. holding his tiny fingers sukuna feels his heart constrict at how small they were.
so fragile sukuna thinks, kids gotta toughen up.
holding onto yujis hand, sukuna reaches onto the table and pulls his glasses on. squinting he starts to slowly clip yuji’s nails.
“don’t move brat” sukuna’s careful with the pressure he applies on his grip, not wanting to accidentally hurt his son.
the nails were soft and transparent, they came away with the least effort, fluttering to the floor like flower petals.
you listen to the quiet clicking of the clippers, their echoes sealing this moment of domesticity into the rise of the morning.
when finished, sukuna ruffled yuji’s hair, his way of saying good job.

3 weeks. 3 weeks of you not talking to Sukuna after telling him you need to take a mental health break. Things had gotten pretty bad at home, and they were even worse inside your head.
It’s fine. That’s what Sukuna tells himself. You just need your space, your time. That’s not something he would ever say no to. Not like he was driving circles around your house every day, trying to see if he could just catch a glimpse of your face through your window.
He’d give the world, the moon, planets and stars yet unnamed just for you to smile. A smile he hasn’t seen, not really, in a couple of months. It killed him, seeing you slowly dwindle out under the pressure of your own life and responsibilities. Ones he tried so hard to help you with. He would carry all your burdens on his shoulders if you let him, but these days it was easier for you to shut everyone out.
He tried texting you, reaching out. Being cool about it, being not so cool about it. None of it elicited a response from you.

You watched your phone buzz with notifications from him. Every time, it felt like a strange memory playing before you when you saw his name on your phone. It wasn’t that you wanted to end things with him. You weren’t even trying to push him away. It just felt like your world had already ended, everything still spinning cruelly around you.
Your life didn’t feel like your own lately. You couldn’t even recognize yourself anymore. And the girl who loved Sukuna was still there, but buried under so much pressure she couldn’t even find it in her to respond. Most days, you could hardly get yourself together to eat a meal. Your home life was torture, your school and work were both falling apart, and you were just watching everything slip through your hands. Dark thoughts consumed you and it felt like you were just accepting that you had to let go of everything.
Sukuna was a patient man. But he wasn’t that patient. Especially when it came to your well-being. He was worried sick now, his own appetite dwindling, unable to stomach your seeming disappearance from his life. You even deleted your socials. He couldn’t track your activity on anything.
“Ryomen!” one of his buddies shouts from across the room, laughing with a bunch of guys around a table with red solo cups and ping pong balls being thrown.
Sukuna looked up from his phone, hunched over with his hand rubbing the back of his neck in a motion that was probably meant to be self-soothing.
“Get over here!” his friend shouted, snorting a laugh at seeing Sukuna look so distressed as he walked over. He gave him a healthy pat on the back, although it moved Sukuna as much as pushing a brick wall would. “What’s got you so worked up, boss?”
Sukuna gave his friend a dismissive snarl and a side-eye, absently flicking a ping pong ball from the table. He leaned forward on the table, his bulky arms folding over each other.
What if he wasn’t doing enough for you? Maybe that’s why you weren’t responding. He couldn’t stand the thought of losing you, of you going somewhere he couldn’t follow.
Without saying a word, Sukuna pushed off the table, grabbing his jacket hanging on a chair on the way out of the house. He didn’t care for his friends asking him where he was headed off to, the cold air of the night feeling like nothing compared to the twisting in his gut.
There he stood, in front of your house. His feet led him here on pure instinct. He knew where your room was, and he knew better than to knock on the front door. Your parents were lunatics as it was; he didn’t need them to see your 6’5” boyfriend barging in.
Carefully, Sukuna walked across the grass to the side of the house. Your room was upstairs, and there was a trellis right beneath your window. Perfect. As carefully as he could, he placed a foot in the fragile frame of the trellis. It felt like it might give way under his weight, but he had no other way to get up to your room unless he wanted to cause a scene. He was careful as he quickly climbed up, trying not to leave his feet on any stretch of wood for too long. Once he made it to your windowsill, he gripped onto the edges of it, pulling himself up and resting his feet on a protruding edge of the house.
There you were, lying down on your bed, the only light in your room shining from the moon through the window he was right on the other side of. You were absently pulling at minuscule threads of your pillow, the shine of tears on your face clear to him. His heart broke at the sight. You looked so small, so resigned. You were in your favorite pajamas, those comfy shorts and a big t-shirt Sukuna let you borrow once.
He stayed there for a moment, silent as he just watched the particles of dust float through the moonlight, shining on you like a sad statue in the big, lonely space of your bedroom.
Knock knock.
Sukuna tapped on your window with his knuckles twice, softly, just enough to get your attention.
You were startled out of your thoughts, hearing the taps on your window. You nearly screamed when you saw the huge shadow of a person against the window, jumping up in bed and backing up a bit. Your heart was pounding. But the figure held his hands up in a sort of ‘i mean no harm’ motion. You squinted, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Then you caught the traces of a couple of unmistakable features on the person’s face. Your gaze softens. Sukuna?
You walk up to the locked window, slowly, tentatively. As you get closer, you realize it really is Sukuna. You look at him, a little shocked as your mouth hangs slightly open. He motions at the lock of the window, mouthing something you can’t hear clearly through the thick glass.
You click the lock of the window open, and Sukuna wastes no time in gracefully pushing the window up and slipping into your room. Once his feet hit the floor softly, with caution, and he stands up, the full height of him imposing in your room, looking smaller with his presence, he turns to face you.
Without breaking eye contact, Sukuna sinks onto one knee in front of you. Then the other. You can just stare, unsure what he’s doing. He wraps two strong arms around your legs, pulling you forward towards him. Your fingers find purchase in his short hair to balance yourself as he pulls you forward. He buries his face against your thighs, letting out a shaky breath.
“I missed you so much, angel.” He whispers against your thighs, hugging you tightly against him. His mouth presses soft, slow kisses, reverent against your bare skin, over the scars on your thighs and the blemishes and stretch marks that accompany them. He’s always loved every inch of you with no hesitation. He pulls back just an inch, looking up at you, those deep red eyes shining with tears in the pale moonlight shining through the open window. A tear escapes his eye, tracking down his tan cheek as he looks up at you with so much hope and… fear?
Now you let out a shaky breath, sinking onto your knees as well. You wrap your arms around his neck, hugging him. He doesn’t hesitate, pulling you into his lap as he wraps his arms strongly around you, burying his face into your hair. “Angel… my precious angel…” he whispers against your hair, pressing a soft kiss there.
You both stay like that for a while, just hugging each other on the floor of your room. After a little bit, Sukuna speaks up, very softly, trying so hard not to break how fragile the closeness between you both right now is. “Angel, can I hear your voice? I need you hear you, please. We’ve been apart too long.” He pulls back a little, holding your face in his hands.
You gulp, tears tracking down your cheeks as you look at him. He looks and feels like a dream, like a pretty part of your imagination to make things easier. “I missed you too Ryo’ baby.”
He lets out a shaky breath of laughter as he hears your voice, closing his eyes for a moment. He can’t believe it was this simple to see you when for 3 whole weeks it was as though you disappeared from his life. He leans in, pressing a most soft, affectionate kiss to your forehead. Pulling back, he gives you a genuine smile, his head tilting a little. “You couldn’t have texted me that, woman?”
You chuckle softly, your voice thick with the tears that are still pouring from your eyes. “Sorry, I meant to but–”
“Don’t apologize.” He whispers firmly. “You’re here now. You’re with me. That’s all that matters.”
Your eyes search Sukuna’s, and his hands sink down from your face holding your jaw as his thumbs rub comforting circles over your cheeks. “And I’m not leaving you.” He whispers to you, his gaze fixed on you, taking you in as if you were going to disappear from his arms.
Your head falls forward, resting against his chest. Your hands find purchase on his waist, salty tears pouring from your eyes, dropping into his lap. His hand moves to your back, rubbing up and down your spine warmly, comfortingly.
“That’s it, doll. Breathe. You’re doing so good.” His words are like a mercy on the pain that’s been eating away at you for the past few weeks. Your fingers clutch into his sides just a little tighter, like holding onto a lifeline. He notices, shifting you a little in his hold, pulling you closer to him.
“I’m sorry.” You start to say through tears, feeling an immense guilt at him being here and you not having been there for him for the past few weeks, despite your own pain. For all his comfort and reassurances, it feels as though you haven't been offering him the same. He starts to protest, but you pull back, looking at him and pressing a finger to his lips.
“Let me take responsibility. I shouldn’t have pushed you away so much. I’m sorry that I hurt you by pushing you away. I don’t want you to feel like you have to put up with all this–” He grips your wrist gently, pulling your finger away from his mouth, interrupting you.
“I’m not putting up with anything. You’re my everything, angel. I’m in it for the good and the bad.”
You don’t really know what to say to that. The fact is, nobody’s ever been in it with you for the good and the bad. They’ve been there for the good, and turned on their heel as soon as it got bad. Even your own family. You want him to tell you that he’s upset with you, that he wishes you were more put together for him, that you wouldn’t be so immature. You find ways to blame yourself, putting others first and foremost before your own pain, even if you’re drowning. Sukuna knows that, and it amuses him as much as it worries him.
Sukuna leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “I’m always going to be here for you, you can’t get rid of me that easy.” He rumbles with a soft chuckle as he pulls back to look you in the eyes.
“I don’t like that you’re pretending like it’s okay just to make me feel better.” You say with a little pout.
A slow smile unfurls on Sukuna’s face. “Alright.” He knows you, and your own thoughts don’t stand a chance where he stands before you. His expression turns more serious. “I wasn’t okay. I was going insane, my mind jumping to the worst conclusions. I thought you wanted to push me away for good. I didn’t know how you were doing. I didn’t even know if you were alive. Hell, you deleted yourself off everything I could have reached you with. I haven’t been sleeping. I haven’t been eating. I was terrified. I… I don’t like not knowing where we stand, but none of that matters right now. What scared me the most… was that you were going somewhere I couldn’t follow you.”
You wince at just how much he’s suffered because of the distance you put between you and him. You immediately jump to apologizing, giving him sincere promises so that he doesn’t think you enjoy neglecting him or something. “I’m sorry, I’ll try to fix it, I swear. I just needed the space. It’s just been so hard but I… I don’t want you hurting or feeling that way because of me. I’ll be better for you, for us–”
“I don’t need you to fix it. I don’t need you to do anything to talk to me. Or to be with me. I just need you to let me in. You don’t have to fix shit. Just let me in.” Sukuna says firmly, his brows furrowed as he looks at you.
“Everything’s a mess, Ryo’. It’s like it’s all just falling apart.” You whisper, your voice so quiet and broken as you look down.
He gently hooks a finger under your chin, pulling your face up to look at him.
“My doll, you can feel like the walls are crumbling around you. Your roof can be leaky and your feet can be puddled in water, as long as I get to stand in the house with you. Okay?”
Your eyes overflow with tears, two more tracking down your cheeks as you look at him. Sukuna gives you a warm smile, cooing as he pulls you back into a hug, tucking your head under his chin. “Okay?” He repeats.
“Okay. Y-yes.” You whisper, sniffling quietly in his hold.
“Good.” He gently threads his fingers through your hair, humming softly as he holds you. “I want you to tell me what’s wrong, even if it takes an eternity to get the words out. I have all the time in the world just for you, angel.” He whispers gently against your hair.
You look up at him, pressing your lips gently against his chin. He smiles at that, looking down at you. He presses a soft, affectionate kiss to the tip of your nose. “There’s my beautiful angel.” Sukuna runs his thumb across your temple, then down your cheekbone, catching a tear. “When anything at all feels like it’s even taking up the slightest bit of your energy or dragging you down, I can hold it for you. I’m big and strong, alright? You are too, but I want to be your safe space. That’s all I ever want to be for you. Can you let me do that for you, beautiful?”
You nod, nuzzling your head against his chest again, sighing with a relief you haven’t felt in a while. “Thank you Ryo’.”
“You don’t have to thank me for that.” He whispers with a smile, holding you a little tighter against him. He’s willing to stay on that floor hugging you for as long as you need. Sukuna feels like a solid wall of muscle and heat around you, keeping out all the hurt you had been feeling on your own. He’s already thinking about how to get you out of this house and on a date with him tomorrow so that he can get that pretty smile he’s been dying to see.

a/n: so this was very self indulgent. im going through some stuff right now writing this helps hope you guys like it
what do you do when your four year old, baby!yuji gets hit by a curse that turns him into the cutest, fluffiest, small pink bunny?
clearly you didn’t know and neither did sukuna.
“what’s the damage?” sukuna trudges back in through the front door, having just gotten rid of the curse.
“um, see for yourself” you turn around facing him, a baby bunny in your arms.
in order to combat his towering height, sukuna bends down to inspect his son, now turned bunny.
yuji just chews, as rabbits do, eyes fluttering about.
“it’s oddly endearing” sukuna remarks.
“i know right?” you shake your head at how quick your husband switched to ‘it’ pronouns for his son.
choosing not to remark on it, you watch as yuji jumps out of your arms, landing onto the floor and scuttles about.
“kuna, how do i know if he’s hungry? if he needs to pee? if he needs his mom? oh my god what do rabbits eat?” your voice rises in pitch as your anxiety heightens.
sukuna crosses his arms amused, “it’ll wear off in a few hours, the kid’ll live till then” he always found it interesting how your mom brain worked.
sukuna on the other hand worried yuji would escape his sight and leave the house wandering off into the wilderness. where he’ll inevitably, lose to natural selection which he as his father just couldn’t let happen.
hence, his eyes stay trained on his son as you also scuttle about sort of mimicking yuji trying to look for something to feed him and keep him hydrated.
“bunnies eat carrots right?”
“yup”
“do they drink water?”
“yes wife”
“do we have a litter box?”
“mhm”
“what if he gets stuck on a wire and chokes himself?”
“i’m watching him”
“what if he hates us for not helping him?”
“he won’t”
sukunas affirmations don’t stop coming. yuji bounces around the room hopping and exploring, only stopping to take a quick sniff of the carrot sukuna offered.
bunny!yuji nibbles on the vegetable looking at you through big black eyes.
“oh my poor baby” you’re so close to melting into a puddle of tears, completely helpless.
sukuna tuts at your antics, his brow raised he comments “he probably hates me more than you”
“why?” you question blinking up at him.
“you’re not a curse user, i am”
you mouth an ‘o’ at him.
“but still i should’ve taken the curse for him”
“you can’t see them” sukuna’s rebuttal is valid, however…
“i’m his mother, sukuna” you retort.
“WIIIIIIIFE” he groans, rubbing a hand over his face. now he’s pissed, not because of your argument but because you used his name instead of kuna or ryo.
you pout looking away from your husband at what has become of your lovely son, a chewing, nibbling little rabbit.
sensing your attention on him yuji starts to bounce around, jumping onto the table, the couch and then the shelf.
you slowly turn your head towards your husband who’s got a small smile playing on his lips watching his son quite literally bouncing off of walls.
“ryomen sukuna!” you roar,
“WHAT”
“stop him???”
that starts a wild goose-no rabbit chase.
you lunge for your baby rabbit, it’s soft fur brushing against your fingertips when you fail to catch it-him.
sukuna during his whole hearted attempt, loses balance when his leg hits the table and so do you.
both of you topple over, a mess of limbs crashing onto the floor.
sukuna shields you with his body, his hand coming up to cover your head in order to soften your landing.
you groan, from the impact rubbing your arm.
baby!yuji hops on to settle on your back, nibbling on air, as rabbits do.
“would you look at that” sukuna barks out a laugh.
the living room looked as though a storm had rolled through it.
every blanket in the apartment had disappeared from it’s closet, every couch cushion had been stolen, and dining chairs had been dragged away.
the dining table held a huddle of people, who you could only assume to be your husband and your toddler, under a massive makeshift blanket fortress.
slowly, you part the misshaped entryway to the fort and find baby!yuji and sukuna trying to put up fairy lights.
your heart warms at the crooked attempt and you clear your throat signaling your arrival.
sukuna, jerks completely back into a position of nonchalance as if he had nothing to do with this and baby!yuji crawls over to you.
“mama, d’you like?” he grabs your cheeks, making you admire his masterpiece.
you smile heartily at your son, eyes flicking up to your husband trying to understand what led to this.
“this is nice suki” you quirk a brow at him.
you watch as a slight tinge of pink climbs up sukuna’s neck into his cheeks, when he realizes what you’re implying.
he mumbles under his breath, “brat, wanted it”
you chuckle lightly, “didn’t think you were one to oblige”
sukuna abruptly turns away from you, his heart pattering faster than usual at being caught when being tender towards his own son’s wishes.
gosh you wished he’d take it in stride, but alas you get an adorably annoyed husband, and an even cuter photocopy of him.
now that the lights are all set up, you all sit cross legged under the fort, the fairy lights casting a soft glow.
baby!yuji scoots closer until he’s practically sitting in sukuna’s lap.
“i haf ghost story” yuji whispers, mustering up his scary tone,
which just comes out entirely endearing for the both of you.
“you know a scary story?” you asked.
he nodded gravely, “very, very scary”
sukuna folded his arms,
“ghosts aren’t real, curses on the otherha-“ you cut him off with a nudge to his elbow.
“let’s hear it yu,”
“tch.”
yuji puts on his best serious expression, “one time…there was a ghost”
“the ghost was purple”
“purple?” you ask, and he nods.
“and he had four sockies”
“socks?” sukuna questioned, and yuji nodded eagerly.
“and he go ‘wooo…’” yuji wiggled his fingers “‘woo… where are my sockies’ he say”
“did he find his socks?” you question,
“no mama, listen story still going” you shush immediately letting him have his moment.
“he check washing machine, he check under bed, no sockies”
“then…he go to….laundry basket...” yuji pauses for dramatic flair.
“andthereismonstereatinghisfoursockies” he says this in one breath and then jumps at both you and sukuna, with a “BOO!”
you mock surprise immediately clinging onto sukuna’s arms and you’re amazed to see sukuna playing along.
“no yuji, mama’s scared helppp” you whine, trying to make it convincing.
yuji bursts into giggles while hugging you tight, “no mama, it is only story”
“i’m scared too…damn” sukuna mutters, but yuji just gives a look of absolute disbelief “papa lie”
“what?”
“papa not scared”
“why?”
“PAPA is big and scary”
now it’s your turn to burst into laughter while sukuna chases yuji out of the fortress, with a “come here you little brat” followed by baby!yuji’s squeals.
firefly; i’ve been soooo into mobile games these days especially the cooking frenzy ones..
asking Sukuna about the date he planned for tonight, except… he never planned one
a/n: got such an amazing idea in an ask that i just had to write it
It’s a quiet Friday afternoon, and you’re both sitting in his gaming room. Sukuna’s at his desk, sprawled out in nothing but loose sweatpants, lazily scrolling through something on his PC while a stream hums low from his second monitor. Off to the side, you’re sunk deep into your oversized armchair, legs tucked up, twirling a strand of hair around your finger like you’re not plotting the most dangerous trap he’s ever walked into.
A soft, thoughtful hum slips from your lips as your gaze drifts over to his profile, lingering on the broad expanse of his bare torso, and for a moment, it’s genuinely difficult to remember you’re supposed to be scheming.
“Hey, when should I start getting ready?” you ask softly, sounding like it’s no big deal.
“For what?” he asks, barely glancing away from his screen.
“What do you mean, for what?” you shoot back, giving him your most innocent grin. “For the date you said you planned.”
Sukuna freezes, his hand pausing mid-click over the mouse. For a split second, his brain short-circuits so violently you can almost see the static. He swivels his chair to face you fully, crimson eyes locking onto yours, searching your face for any hint, any clue. His mind races through every conversation, every text, every random comment from the last few weeks, desperately trying to figure out what the fuck he supposedly promised.
Did she say something last week? Did I promise something while half asleep? Fuck, did I actually invite her for a date and forget?
“The... date,” he echoes, his voice dropping an octave as he does his best to sound completely unbothered and in control. “Yeah, yeah—get ready soon.”
"Mm... what are you wearing then?" you ask, resting your chin in your hand. "I don't know if we're matching the vibe or not."
A beat of silence drops over the room, thick and deafening. Sukuna’s jaw tightens, a muscle twitching beneath his ear, and his eyes drift back to the monitor, but it’s obvious he isn’t seeing a thing. Inside his head, gears grind together at a breakneck pace, panic threatening to short-circuit every rational thought.
Matching the vibe? What fucking vibe?
He’s fifty percent convinced he blacked out an entire conversation, fifty percent convinced he’s losing his mind, and one hundred percent determined to never, ever let you see him sweat.
"Well," Sukuna starts, slowly turning his head to look at you once again. He tries for a calm, confident smirk, though tension flickers around his eyes as he searches your face for a single crumb of a clue. "I mean, that depends on what you wanna wear, doesn't it?"
"Kuna, come on, don't do that," you giggle softly, shaking your head. "You picked the place, so you set the dress code. Are we doing fancy, or should I just throw on something cute and simple?"
The trap snaps shut. Sukuna's mind spirals into absolute chaos, running at a million miles an hour. Say it’s fancy, and he’s doomed if he picked somewhere casual. Say it’s casual, and you show up underdressed for some high-end place he apparently reserved weeks ago, and he’s a dead man. Honestly, he’s a dead man either way if he really did promise you something special, because he can’t remember making a single reservation at all.
If there’s not a bead of sweat rolling down his neck, there should be. For a split second, his composure cracks, his brow furrowing in silent distress, before he clears his throat and reaches across the gap with his large hand, grabbing your ankles and tugging your legs off the cushion, draping them over his thick thighs.
"You look good in anything, angel," he purrs, leaning forward to rest his hand on your knee, thumb rubbing lazy circles—anything to distract you and buy himself five more seconds. He flashes a crooked grin. "Just pick something you like, and I'll match."
"Mmm, okay," you hum, sinking back into the plush cushions and tapping your chin in mock-deep thought. "I just hope we don't end up waiting as long as last time. The food was worth it, but that line almost killed me."
Sukuna freezes entirely, his breath slipping out in a slow, silent exhale that feels almost painful to watch.
We've been there before, great food, long line... What fucking place had a line we actually waited in?
His mind frantically scrolls through every date night from the last two years: sushi bars, steak houses, taco trucks, upscale Italian, late-night ramen, trying to pin down which one he supposedly promised you just days ago. His massive shoulders tense as he sits up straighter, the effort so intense you can almost feel the heat radiating off him.
I must’ve promised only a few days ago. How the fuck did I forget?
"Line won't be a problem tonight," he lies through his teeth, his voice dropping into a low rumble as his hand slides up to squeeze your thigh. "Took care of it."
"Oh, you made a reservation this time?" you ask, looking up at him from your seat with wide, bright eyes. "Didn't think they did those on weekends! How'd you pull that off?"
Sukuna freezes mid-motion, the smallest flicker of surprise widening his eyes before he clamps down on it, jaw going rigid.
No reservations on weekends? Great. Backed myself into a fucking corner now. What the fuck am I supposed to say after that?
This is it—the absolute limit of human endurance. Balanced on a conversational tightrope stretched over a pit of fire, he’s surrounded by conflicting clues, unable to commit to a single outfit or restaurant. There he sits, a giant, terrifying man held hostage by an imaginary date night, looking for all the world like he’s trying to solve advanced physics in his head.
He fixes you with a stare, maintaining that arrogant smirk through an absolutely heroic amount of concentration, determined to bluff his way straight into the grave if he has to.
"I’ve got my ways, brat," he rumbles, sliding his hand around your wrist and pulling you gently closer, leaning in at the same time and pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead—one last desperate distraction.
"I'm just excited, you know? You're so sweet to plan this out of nowhere, Kuna," you chirp sweetly, holding back a laugh. You beam at him, swinging your feet like you can barely contain your glee, letting your voice turn all sing-song and syrupy just to watch him squirm.
Looking down at your smiling, innocent face, Sukuna's massive ego crumbles for a split second under the weight of the mystery.
"Wait—what time did you book it for?" you ask before he thinks of an answer to your praise, looking up at him expectantly as you pull back to lean against the cushions again. "I know it’s tonight, but you never said when—are you trying to make me late on purpose? How much time do I actually have to look cute?”
His mouth opens, but nothing comes out. For a horrifying half-second, he freezes—lips parted, eyes darting from the clock on his monitor to the floor, then back to your face. His mind is utterly, completely blank—not a single coherent thought.
Think. Dinner. Six? Seven? Eight? What time sounds normal?
"You don't remember?" you ask softly, tilting your head just a little as you look up at him with wide, innocent eyes, the tiniest smile threatening to betray you.
"I remember!" Sukuna snaps a little too fast, his voice cracking with a rare, desperate edge before he quickly clears his throat to cover it. He shifts in his gaming chair, his jaw working as his eyes widen in full-blown panic.
Pick a number. Any fucking number.
"Of course I remember, woman. It's... It's in my phone—set a reminder and everything. Who do you take me for? 7."
"Right," you say, trying not to laugh at the thought of Sukuna actually fussing with a calendar app.
"Now quit grilling me and go get ready before you start worrying we're gonna be late."
Looking up at his face, you catch the tiny, panicked tension around his eyes despite that confident smirk. Unable to resist, you decide to drag it out just a little longer, savoring every second of his internal panic.
You tilt your head, looking at him from your chair. "You're driving us, right? Or are we taking an uber?"
"I'm driving," Sukuna says instantly, the answer automatic as he clutches at the first scrap of control he can find before his own brain has a chance to second-guess it.
"You remember how to get there, right?"
"Yeah," he grumbles, rolling his shoulders as he shoots you a sharp, warning look. "Of course I do."
"Good," you chirp with an easy smile. "I completely forgot the street name. What was it again?"
Nothing. I have nothing... This is it. I'm dead.
Silence instantly smothers the room. Sukuna’s entire body goes rigid, every muscle locked, and the arrogant smirk vanishes. His eyes go wide, locked onto yours in pure, unfiltered, deer-in-the-headlights terror. Not a word escapes him—there’s no way in hell he could even guess a street. He just sits there, trapped in a corner of his own making, paralyzed by the sudden realization that he’s completely, thoroughly backed into a wall.
Letting it stretch for ten long, glorious seconds, you watch his brain fry in real time. Then, a sharp, hysterical giggle bursts out of you, shoulders shaking violently as you bury your face in both hands, wheezing for air.
"I know there's no reservation, Kuna," you manage through laughter, shaking your head. "I know there's no date."
Sukuna blinks once, then again. For a moment, it’s like his brain can’t quite process the words, and then relief crashes over him so hard it nearly knocks him flat. The tension drains from his massive frame all at once, leaving him slumped boneless against the back of his chair.
A long, heavy exhale escapes him as he drags a hand down his face, wiping away the real sweat of the last ten minutes. He sits there, utterly defeated, looking like he just barely survived a war zone. There's not even enough strength left in him to pretend to be angry; every bit of mental energy got burned up trying to solve an imaginary puzzle.
"Jesus christ," he mutters into his palm, his voice a rough, exhausted rumble.
His hand drops, and he glances over at you, taking in the way you’re sitting there, absolutely delighted with yourself. Shaking his head, he lets a slow, helpless grin tug at the corner of his mouth, exhaustion still written all over his face.
"Yeah, well," Sukuna rasps, his eyes softening as he gently shoves your ankles from his legs, then reaches out and wraps his fingers around your wrist, pulling you up and into his lap. "We can still go on one."
You tilt your head, settling sideways across his thick thighs with a curious smile. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," he sighs, arms locking around your waist as he buries his face in your hair, slumping back into his chair. "I'll take you for that pasta you love so much, you menace."
"Oh, you're down bad, Kuna," you tease, grinning as you tug him down for a kiss, your fingers threading into his hair at the back of his head.
"I was sitting here trying to remember if I'd booked a fucking table in my sleep, you know?" he rasps, his breath fanning across your cheek as his lips brush yours, the low rumble of a laugh vibrating through his chest.
"You really were trying so hard to play it cool," you murmur, nudging his cheek with your nose.
"I was cool the whole time," Sukuna protests, but the lopsided grin stretching across his face gives him away as he squeezes your waist.
You smile up at him, fingers tracing a slow, absentminded line along his jaw. "So what exactly was your plan, then?"
He blinks, looking genuinely lost for a second. "Huh?"
"If I'd actually gone to get dressed... then what?" you ask, tilting your head.
Sukuna just stares at you for a long moment, his brows drawing together in mock concentration before another helpless laugh escapes him as he shakes his head in defeat.
"No idea." He snorts, raking a hand through his hair as he shakes his head. "I figured I'd think of something in the car."
You burst out laughing again, swatting his shoulder as you double over, nearly collapsing into his chest. "You seriously think that would've worked?"
"I was very committed to making it work," he answers, trying to look serious, but his eyes are bright with laughter.
Before you can get another word in, he leans forward and peppers your cheeks and neck with a relentless barrage of rough kisses until you're laughing too hard to fight him off, your hands doing little more than getting in the way.
Finally, he sets you back on your feet, steadying you with a firm grip on your waist before pushing himself up out of the chair. "Now go get dressed, brat."
it was a rainy day, comfortable and quiet except from the rain hitting your window and the silent tension between you and your boyfriend.
sukuna.
your sitting on the couch, after a night of arguing about the absolutely stupidest thing with him.
“can you stop takin the blanket while your sleeping?” sukuna huffs as he takes his shirt off and sits on the edge of the bed. you raise your eyebrow “excuse me? i do not, it’s you” you cross your arms already sitting on your side of the bed, your back on the headboard.
“so why do i wake up completely cold when i make sure i have the blanket on me? what casper took the blanket and tucked you in or somethin’?” he rolls his eyes and gets under the covers lying back but facing you. “i said, I don’t and if it’s such a big problem we have like a million other blankets.” “okay but you can’t just admit your wrong and say okay and try and be more conscious about it?” you sharply turns towards him, finally.
“i don’t have too because i don’t move in my sleep, im in the same spot every morning i slept in every night!!” you raise your voice. “your the only who moves, you probably just pushed it off in your sleep!” he scoffs rolling his eyes “what a dumbass response, whatever keep the damn blanket.”
you finally snap “excuse me?!” he looks at you slowly but his voice is raised and his eyes are narrowed. “what?” “don’t— don’t do that, don’t be asshole then pretend your right” “but i AM right y/n” he sits up “you know what, you never take responsibility for anything y/n the hell is that ‘bout?!” “WHAT?!”
the house was immediately flooded with both of your yelling, which honestly was extraordinary for you both but it definitely wasn’t normal. you both loved each other. (he slept on the couch that night.)
now, you’re sitting on the couch and sukuna is at work. an hour later your cooking and the house smells like food, sukunas favorite by the way. he slams the front door closed and takes off his shoes throwing his keys in the bowl.
his footsteps heavy as he plops down on the couch. the fabric stretching under his weight.
“kuna?” your voice is soft “m’ not hungry y/n” not even a nickname.. “but you’ve been at work all day—“ you see his back through the window between the living room and the kitchen. “said ‘m not hungry the hell you don’t understand” he raises his voice the walls of the house shaking, but you notice his responses are short and shaky.
you flinch from his tone, trying to hold back your built up anger from the night prior. “sukuna, stop being stubborn.” he sits back down “don’t want your damn food.” again, short and shaky.
“sukuna at least just—“ “stop” he stands up not facing you, his voice cracks.
he walks away but you turn the stove off and follow closely behind him. “wait sukuna, a—are you okay?” you’ve never seen him cry, ever he doesn’t look like the type too either. he always mocks the saying “boys should cry” he says “im a man, ion cry for shit.”
until now, he stops at the bedroom door and turns to you. “stop chasin me” you frown. “kuna baby im so sorry, I didn’t— i was tired last night I didn’t mean to be so mean” he grunts “m’feelings aint hurt” he aggressively wipes his tears.
you take a step closer, “wanna hug?” he shakes his head but you wrap your arms around his waist. your face finding comfort in his chest “m’sorry—“ “don’t be sorry, I guess.. I was being a little rude.. or whatever” he rests his chin on your scalp, placing a kiss there. you sigh in relief.
