happiest of birthdays to my favorite in the whole wide world. i dont care if it sounds corny but you have genuinely saved my life. you also brought back my passion for directing and that means the world to me. you always make me feel better when im feeling down. i hope you have a jolly birthday with a comically large cake. we love you trey.

I watched the Casa Bonita doc for the plot
the plot:
if you look closely it looks like hes wearing a thong
was making another baseketball wannabe poster but i ended up getting too impatient and didnt even get to the rendering part. i don't like it, i know i should trust the process but i'm unmotivated
what? oh, nothing. just relighted and retouched hq photos of matt’s close ups in baseketball. just the fucking beauty of god, i don’t know, nothing.
goodnight everyone here’s an animatronic trey compilation ❤️

Matt also has the most physically challenging voices in Mysterion and Tweek. It pains me to think of doing either of those. Going low (for Mysterion) takes lung power. With Tweek, he probably needs lozenges afterwards for his throat. I wish he could have gotten an Emmy along the way!
Every time I listen to professional voice actors in animated movies or TV shows, I think that Matt and Trey could hold their own with any of them.
Oh, definitely, those two must be the most physically challenging voices in the entire show and it's frustrating how Matt doesn't seem to ever get much credit for them. The most recognition he's ever got was the Emmy nomination for Tweek x Craig but apart from that, he barely gets recognition alongside Trey, let alone compared to other voice actors.
Mysterion and Tweek must be both exhausting physically and ruthless for his throat. I think he actually mentioned that Tweek's voice was pretty hard for him to do when he used to be a smoker, and I can only imagine.
For some reason Matt's characters seem to also scream quite a lot. Thinking of Butters and Kyle too.
The Walk of Fame thing, and how apparently you have to nominate yourself and pay for your own star - this just seems so unlike Matt and Trey and everything they have always been against? Don’t get me wrong, they are completely deserving and I can’t wait to hear their speeches, but it just seems so unlike them and that’s making me have mixed feelings about the whole thing.
Maybe they realized that they had earned their place there (after 30 years) and decided, let’s just do this. It’s obvious that they care very much about their legacy. Maybe it was a secret dream they both had when they first started out in that town.
The problem is all of these nobodies who are barely famous getting their stars and cheapening the honor for those who truly deserve it.
I know. I don't know what I imagined in terms of how the nomination process works but I definitely didn't expect that you have to actually pay for your own star.
It does seem unlike them, and I'm finding it hard to believe that they're feeling too moved or sentimental about it. It seems likely that they didn't even consider it a big deal or nominate themselves, but that someone who works for them just submitted their application at one point for a bit of fun, and it finally went through.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame must have a huge "backlog" of public figures waiting to be accepted, so it was only a matter of time when Matt and Trey's turn was going to come. Eventually everyone who's anyone is probably going to get their star, so it doesn't mean all that much.
I'm curious to hear their speeches at the ceremony, because that will be the best indicator of how they actually feel about it. I expect them to have a somewhat ironic approach to it, because they must realise that after everything they've said and done, it does seem pretty ironic for them to buy themselves a star.
anon, those were my thoughts exactly once i heard the news!
yesterday I went through the south park production blog and some of my favorite moments were
1. trey and matt making pancakes breakfast for the crew pre-season
2. post season homoeroticism (oh to work on SP and have Trey slap me on the ass)
3. finding out mike mcmahan (of solar opposites fame) actually worked on SP as a production assistant
4. eric stough playing with legos and having the complete opposite feelings towards it than trey
5. the daily group hug
6. the mcrib challenge
7. matt and trey playing videogames together whenever they don't have work to do (bonus for trey working on his birthday and getting a big nice cake from his team, pics in the blog)
8. them getting their clothes washed because they're so busy
9. and so much more
