I wanna talk about Lauren Shippen.

I discovered her and The bright sessions only last year and it got me hooked very quickly. The characters are so real and incredibly human and I could see every one of them being actual people. Safe to say the bright sessions turned into one of my favorite media very quickly.

I have never had a favorite author before, yet I must say that Lauren Shippen inspires me deeply. Ever since I have watched one of the livestreams she occasionally does I saw who I wanted to be as a storyteller. Something about her puts me in such a creative mood and I aspire to be like her.

my favourite AM archives episode is ep 12 collision course, because I get to hear joan talking to herself crashing out and crying stuck in a room. We never get a huge range of emotion from her in the show, and I'm sure that's a deliberate characterizarion choice because. well. she is a therapist, that's a figure meant to be stable, a neutral grounding point, and she takes on that role on her out of work life as well. And the fact that it's rare, paired with her being my favorite makes me go "yayyyy :D" wheneaver she displays any emotions on her tone.

my other big fave episode on the whole TBS is movie night for the same reason (joan bright expressing emotions by being happy). But collision course takes the crown because the urge to torture my faves is strong..

I think Remus is gonna have a big role in uncovering Orange.

So I obviously have been rewatching Sander Sides again as one does and this time I looked closer. As we all know Janus and Remus have some sort of plan to reveal the orange side. They said it themselves the five year anniversary video (btw ten year anniversary soon). Since then Janus has obviously been accepted due to him being in the intro of the most recent video (WDIS).

From the beginning I have always seen Remus as more than just intrusive thoughts. He is like the truest self, all the shame that people with a catholic upbringing have for thinking about something. Like Logan said, most sins happen in the mind. Remus breaks, pushes and bends boundaries. He swears, he is dirty, he is sexual, he is everything Thomas had to repress to not be judged. The best example of that was the purity that had built around Sander Sides, I wasn't exactly active those several years ago but from what I have heard from veterans in this fandom, anything that slightly stepped away from that family friendly bubble Thomas had built was scrutinized.

Now this is not a post about me talking about my theories on the infamous orange side but I have to touch on it for a second. In my opinion, I think the orange side will, partially, encapsulate wrath and anger. In childhood you are usually taught to repress those kind of emotions, that teaches you to not feel angry yet these emotions are completely natural and also sometimes needed.

Since Remus is the unapologetic truth I have the suspicion that he will maybe have a way bigger play in uncovering those feelings than we all anticipate. We have even seen him trying to lure out those emotions in Logan during WTIT (or Working through intrusive thoughts).

I wrote this on the whim and without any research so if I had any misconceptions about Christian guilt or the earlier Sander Sides fandom or you want to give your two cents please do it nicely.

I think the thing I love the most about the bright sessions is how incredibly human all the characters are. They all are troubled and have faults but even the worst are not fully evil and have reasons.

Sooo I REALLY got into the bright sessions (i binged 4 seasons in three days)

Of course Joan Bright/ Bryant is my favorite character, im a sucker for underappreciated main characters.

Getting to the point I have some Headcannons:

• She DEFINITELY chews on pencils, i can see her chewing on the ends while doing research

• Folds her hands in weird ways

Example:

• She really gave me trans woman vibes and I don't know why

• I feel like she is surprisingly strong and could have folded Damian in the safehouse episode

• cat-person

• Loves old movies

• Used to watch movies with Mark all the time and then discuss the themes and nuances

• I low-key see her as Waisian (Amercian - Siberian Russian)

• Wears glasses and could be legally consided blind without them

Im on 407 right now so maybe some headcannons are actually cannon. I also have mor but those im gonna tell you some other time.
