I think Lestat gives off big horse vibes
Very scared for Armand and Marius to be on screen together because I know I’ll throw up and cry but also I can not wait to see Assad Zaman and Christopher Heyerdahl be scene partners
They both such fantastic actors so I can not imagine how powerful their scenes together will be
Fareed clearly signed up to take part in some medical malpractice but didn’t realise he had agreed to work with Jigsaw.
The way he was side eyeing Louis when Armand started rubbing his shoulders made me laugh so hard he was so fucking scared
I’m not really a fan of conspiracy theories to explain away poor writing but I do think that a lot of the issues with the season and its production is a little fishy
Also the way Rolin and the cast seem to be goading AMC in interviews makes me wonder what went down between seasons
was thinking more about creating TVC-themed concept work for my portfolio, and I have so many ideas about what an animated adaptation of TVA would look like, it's eating at my brain
fuuuuck I'm gonna have to read those fucking books
There are plenty of things to be mad about in terms of the butcher shop scene, but I feel like acting like the show was framing Armand's actions against Louis as "right" is crazy work.
Like, they could not have shot or scored that scene in a more obvious way to communicate how fucking insane Armand's behavior was if they tried. Idk how you could walk away believing that the show was trying to make you agree with Armand
Even Armand didn't agree with Armand! Dude was trembling and erratic towards the tail end of the scene; that's not a man in his right mind. It is very clear through the beautiful acting of Assad that Armand is not entirely sold on needing an apology from Louis. He just wants an apology from literally anyone, or at least for all the blame to not be put on himself. If everything is his fault, how is he supposed to reckon with that? Who is he supposed to punish? Louis was at that point the most recent individual who had harmed Armand and who Armand had harmed (obviously Armand hurt Louis more, but that's not the point), so it makes sense that his ire would be turned on him.
Also the things Louis was trying to apoligize for were no where near at the same level as everything Armand had laid out in his own letter, that's why Armand kept on throwing it away. We as the audience are supposed to be appaled and confused and frustrated by Armand's actions because they make no sense!
The only apology we were supposed to take seriously was Louis's acknowledgment of Armand's past. Which, even then, wasn't entirely Louis apologizing for his own actions; it was more like a blanket apology for Armand's life as a whole.
That scene could have 100% been done better with more grace and sensitivity and less cartoon villain bullshit (I can suspend my disbelief with the vampires and the Talamasca, but I'm gonna have to draw the line on Armand having facial recognition software on his fucking iPad), but I feel like the interpretation that the scene was meant to turn us against Louis in any way is being made in bad faith.
I’m trying to figure out ways to milk my current fixation on iwtv for my portfolio
the most obvious option to me is to read the books and play with designing the characters for animation but I think I’d have a hard time divorcing them from the tv series
another avenue would be to continue doing visual analysis of scenes from the show and turning them into comics or interpreting scenes from the books into comic format
Hmmm idk
it's still so wild to me that the TVL panel is gonna be in Hall H like what the hell
They better announce something big, and AMC better up the production budget.
Having many thoughts about past Devil's Minion, Armand's stalking of Daniel, and how Louis fits into it all but I am still so groggy off pain meds that I don't think I can express them well enough
but trust I am writing real good fanfiction in my brain
I hate when my wrist hurts so bad oh my god I just want to draw I don’t want to rest!!! Why does it always have to flare up when I’m feeling the most inspired!!!
Anyways here’s a photo of my cat since I have to put my stupid doodles on pause >:(
lots of Armand-shaped irons in the fire at the moment :D
