Okay my secondhand copy of moby dick arrived in the post and it's a genuinely ancient copy which feels inadvisable to annotate in (it's also just smaller with smaller margins and stiffer pages) my original copy is much better suited to annotating but it's also my beloved child and I do not want any harm to come to it ... My dilemma is that I *feel* like I should be more precious over this secondhand copy but in reality I am much more precious about my original one
help
annotate the secondhand one! that's why you bought it. it was literally £3
annotate your original copy! it will be much easier
IMPORTANT CONTEXT I FEEL I SHOULD ADD: I am not one to annotate books. This would be my first time going through a book and writing thoughts and such as I read since GCSE English. I know there's not really a "right" or "wrong" way to do it but also I really really don't want to do it "wrong" and fuck up the book that I really am quite precious about
I really do love Goodsir because he loves Silna. His love does not absolve him of his flaws or magically negate his ethnocentrism, but his consistent efforts to care for Silna and to connect with her as a person do actually stand out in a story where Silna is so isolated and so few characters are shown caring for her. The tragedy rewards the audience for believing in their love as Silna believes in it. We see a relatively large proportion of their relationship play out onscreen for us, and it is remarkably kind, considerate, and affectionate. They fleetingly become each other's unlikely source of comfort. Silna is under no obligation to forgive Goodsir or to like him at all, yet she loves him anyway. I love Goodsir because his love for Silna matters to her, and she matters the most.

hi toad :D what's your favorite kind of weather?
HI!! 👋👋👋👋👋
I'm basic and love warm weather tbh. Warm and clear skies. It just makes me happy! More specifically I love an early spring morning. When it's still cold and a little damp but the cold is refreshing and you can tell it's going to get warm later on

Watching s2 ep1 on netflix and the English translated captions of the Romanian spoken is using the wrong homophones? And there are missing apostrophes in contractions? "There" instead of "they're", "here" instead of "hear" and "hes" instead of "he's" ? These are just the ones I've caught halfway through the episode. What? I don't remember it being an issue the past two times I watched using BBC iPlayer but also it's been a year and half so I may have just forgotten
