Something I do not like at all is some "bhakts" trying to prove Radharani superior to devi Lakshmi like ??? They are the SAME.
I love Radharani okay but I don't need to feel bad or wrong for feeling more connected to Lakshmi Maa. And you can have your beliefs but why go around changing stories, twisting narrative and showing the ashtabharayas as inferior or materialistic?
Krishna loves Devi Rukmini as much as Radharani and all his wives, what do you not understand?!! Gaudiya vaishnavism has glorified only the workship of Radhakrishna and it overshadowed pretty much everything else.
And I am always a bit sad and petty about what could have been, we could have had so many temples dedicated to the ashtabharayas and more stories and poetries for them, have them being known in mainstream culture but we don't and that disappoints me to no end! Heck most people don't even know who Devi Rukmini and ashtabharayas are and it saddens me, they deserves so much better!
If you feel connected to shree radha that's good! But stories like how Lakshmi maiya cannot enter Vrindavan cuz only madhuraya bhava can be present here not Aishwarya bhava and I am like excuse me?!??! Devi Lakshmi is the Supreme goddess! She is the jagadjanani? How is that she cannot enter Vrindavan!? It makes no sense whatsoever! I could go on about this ugh!

BY GOLDEN ANIME STANDARDS FOR A COUPLE -
1. Being Shipped and teased by everyone
The golden standard for canon couples is when side characters ship and tease the potential couple, like how Shirley and Lelouch are shipped by almost every character
And it's because of their behaviour with each other.
A. Ashford Academy
Literally, the whole Ashford Academy assumes that Lelouch and Shirley are "thing" and that's why the result seemed "predictable" to them.
Whenever there is a student council scene, they surely talk about Shirlulu
B. Milly
Milly goes ahead and even assumes they will get married one day.
C. Mao
Mao totally thinks that Lelouch"s lover is Shirley.
D. Kallen
When Rivalz revealed that Shirley and Lelouch had fought, Kallen labels it as typical "lovers spat" (despite not coming regularly for the council).
E. CC
CC keeps bringing up Shirlulu kiss, and taunt-tease him about it, and even calls him a lover boy.
F. Suzaku
Suzaku gets disappointed to see Lelouch with another girl (it was CC). Suzaku never shipped Lelouch with CC or Kallen.
G. Rivalz
Rivalz is so concerned about their "fight" and keeps asking Lelouch to patch up with Shirley at every chance he gets.
H. Rolo
Rolo got insecure and jealous, seeing how much Lelouch cares for Shirley. He was afraid that she would steal Lelouch from him.
And when Shirley recovered her memories and talked about staying beside Lelouch, she when mentioned Nunnally, he went mad with insecurity.
I. Sayoko
Not sure about her because even after knowing Lelouch for years and she thought he was playboy, but she was right about Milly's feelings.
She kissed Shirley, thinking Lelouch would have done the same in that situation.
2. Lover's quarrel
According to anime standards, couples who argue often are closer to each other.
R1 stage 15
I wonder how often do Lelouch and Shirley fight for their friends to buy " pretending to be strangers" excuse.
Even though it was stated that ShirLulu argue often, it's sad that we never got to see them arguing and patching up later.
My guess is that their fight is more like Shirley getting mad at him (being dense and insensitive) and Lelouch trying to pacify her.
3. They have own love song
Shirlulu has their own love song called "Masquerade," and the lyrics do suit them. The line "You are my destiny" is appropriate because Lelouch died after Shirley's death.
4. Going on a Date
Among all ships only Shirley and Lelouch went on date (R2 epi 3) and Lelouch was planning another date for them (mentioned in outro of R2 epi 12 ) but the tragedy happened.
Apart from them Suzaku and Euphie went on a date even it's not a proper date.

Fun fact - After watching Shirley's death on YouTube, I decided to watch Code Geass.
I thought I would be a CcLulu shipper (Cclulu and Kalulu being popular) and would find Shirley annoying like everyone else, but as I kept watching, my thoughts changed.
I ship because ShirLulu because they seem so obvious to me. In fact I like Shirley because of ShirLulu.

GOLDEN ANIME STANDARDS FOR THE LOVE INTEREST -
There are numbers of shonen animes were the female lead and love interest are aren't the same and the love interest doesn't get much screen space.
Eg. Yu Yu Hakusha - Boton always accompanies the hero but Keiko is the love interest.
Shirley was created to be his love interest and unlike Kallen and CC, her entire character story is based on her relationship with Lelouch and how she handles it.
Shirley was chosen to be Lelouch's love interest to show his human side, to show his struggle to strike a balance between his goal and his feelings.
Reasons
1. Nickname
Shirley is the only person to ever give a nickname to Lelouch, "Lulu" and except for her, no one calls him that.
2. Discovering his identity
Usually anime, which consists of a hero with a double life, The love interest is the first one to discover his other identity.
First person to discover about Lelouch's identity as Zero and even after losing her memories she still discovered that he is zero and knew it till the end of R1. (she had a lot of potential).
3. Romance
ShirLulu has their own story with romance , angst and comedy. Their moments are explicitly romance.(explained in part 1 -part 6)
Angst element - Lelouch killed her father, and Shirley gets to know the truth and how both of them deal with their emotions, respectively.
A small backstory with Shirley's dad was added to catalyze their story. This gives a green signal for Shirlulu and also hints at Lelouch's feelings for Shirley.
RomCom element - Lelouch, who can turn situations around and accomplish the impossible, is a total dummy when it comes to romance and handling Shirley.
It's hilarious how he doesn't have a chance against Shirley.
4. Parallel with Nunnally
Lelouch is promising to fulfill Shirley's wish, like he did with Nunnally. Lelouch has always been sweet to Nunnally and Shirley.
These parallels make it seem like Shirley is the next important person after Nunnally.
Ironically, both of them have the least interaction with Lelouch, yet they are very important to him
5. Crossroads
Almost all Shonen animes have this classic scene where the hero ha to his loved ones without forgetting his purpose. He would be at a crossroads and ultimately manages to save both.
R1 stage 08
Shirley, Nina, and Milly were kidnapped by a Japanese gang.
The narrative was like how will Lelouch would manage to save Shirley while still being against Britannia, typical like a hero at crossroads.
6. Kidnapping
Another classic is the heroine getting kidnapped by the antagonist, and the hero has to save her. Usually, the kidnapping is done to show the importance of the heroine to him and also to level up the hero.
R1 Stage 14
Mao confrontation -he had to save Shirley from mao
7. Geass
Shirley is the only person to be geass-ed thrice. Twice by Lelouch and once by the emperor and also got the Geass cancelled by Jeremiah.
8. Hints
Lelouch has Nunnally, Suzaku, CC, and Kallen, yet It's Shirley's death that emphasizes Lelouch path of solitude.
Lelouch killed Euphy with a gun, and Shirley got killed by a gun. Suzaku lost his love due to Lelouch, and as Karma Lelouch has to lose his.
Even after their death, Shirley and Euphy were mentioned still the end of the series.( Rolo and Nunnally are mentioned too but the meaning is different).
R1 went in the direction of Shirley being the love interest (they were direct), but since Shirlulu failed to be popular, Makers made Shirlulu take a back seat, making them subtle in R2.

5. Shirley's liberty with Lelouch -
Lelouch gives liberty to Shirley that usually doesn't apply to others. He has "zero resistance" when it comes to her.
He rarely says "no" to her and plays along with her (ideal boyfriend, lol).
Even though Milly teases and plays with him (he does get annoyed) but there is a line she never crosses unlike Shirley. ( doesn't interfere in his business) same goes for Rivalz.
Instances:
R1 Stage 04
Rivalz wanted Lelouch to come with him for the gambling watch, and Shirley was against it.
Now Lelouch seems to be the type who hates to be bossed around or nagged (a reserved character trait), but doesn't get annoyed with Shirley nagging him.
R2 stage 12
Lelouch didn't want Shirley to take his Hat.
It was because Lelouch didn't want Shirley to get involved in his mess (mao arc). At the same time, he was not sure about other girls taking his hat and asked Villetta to take his hat (lol) just to be safe. (He can't afford to date among all the madness.)
But in the end, Shirley took his hat anyway, and he just kept staring at her without saying a word. (The boy just melted.)
P.S - A bell rang at that moment. If I'm not mistaken, in Japanese culture (anime world), it's considered a good sign for the couple (hinting they might get married).
Villetta comments about how it's rare for him to change plans. He goes out of his way when it comes to Shirley.
R1 stage 11
He was planning on cancelling the date because he doesn't know when he would return.
She calls him and informs him that she might be late to the date, and he notices her voice being different than usual.
Somehow, the conversation ends with Shirley promising she will come (Lmao).
My guess is that Lelouch had a change of heart after feeling something was wrong with her and thought of finishing his business earlier (now that the date was postponed).
R1 stage 09
It's a minor moment
Lelouch didn't like dressing up as a Cat, and he was arguing with Suzaku. But He quickly shuts up the moment Shirley got annoyed and asked him to stop moving (she couldn't apply the makeup properly)
ShirLulu Crumbs :
Lelouch thinking about Shirley while he was in a meeting with the black knights. Lelouch did not expect Shirley would ask him out.
She asked him on a date in hilarious way (more like forced him).
Lmao, Lelouch gave up right after Shirley crossed him. It's like there's no use trying anymore.
My point is Lelouch did have feelings for Shirley maybe not as strong as her but still the end he did not get over her.

4. Lelouch's fear of losing Shirley -
Lelouch, as a child, was abandoned by his homeland and family after a traumatic event (mom's death), leaving him to take care of himself and his disabled sister.
This is why his fear of losing people or getting abandoned is greater and is one of the reasons why he always on guard and is detached.
He never revealed anything to Shirley , Fearing she might hate him and change her behavior.

Lelouch doesn't want his friends to know about him being the prince of England because he fears that they might abandon him and would distance themselves from him because he belongs to the royal family, and they might also hate him for keeping it a secret all these years

Lelouch's famous bathroom angst
This guy killed his half brother (Clovis) without battling an eyelid, but got very disturbed knowing he was the reason for her father's death.
The reason behind his angst; if she came to know the truth, she would hate him, and if he hid it, he would have to live with burden, and their relationship wouldn't be the same anymore.
PS - In epi 13 outro - he was so disturbed that he considered leaving the stage (as zero) and return to his normal student life.
R1 stage 15
Lelouch's realization of his feelings for Shirley came after erasing her memory. The sense of loss turned into frustration, and he lashed out at CC.
P.S - In the series, Lelouch has lost his cool and lashed out only when it comes to Shirley or Nunnally. Frankly, when I watched CG for the first time, I didn't expect him to lash out, especially at CC (I thought he would be sad for a while and move on).
R2 stage 13
Another trauma for Lelouch, even after being so protective of her, he lost her at the end , in a unexpected and tragic way.
Lelouch used his geass over and over in hope and desperation. A lot of his human side is shown when it comes to Shirley.
He couldn't utter a word, let alone his feelings, because he was struggling to come to terms with Shirley dying. He was shocked when she closes her eyes and even shakes her desperately, hoping for signs of life in her. Reality of death sinks into his mind making him scream in agony.
R2 Stage 15
Lelouch had gone rogue after her death. It's like a dam broke, and there is nothing holding back Lelouch.
He originally planned to use the Geass order, but because of Shirley's death, they had to face the brunt of his emotions (sadness and hatred).
He destroyed a phenomenon called Geass because it was reason for Shirley's death and that was the "least" he could do for her.
He wanted to destroy Britannia for his mother's murder and Nunnally's condition, and he destroyed Geass order for Shirley.
He did not destory the Geass order because he felt "grateful" for Shirley's friendship, nor his "guilt" about her death. He destroyed it because he is someone who takes revenge for his loved ones.
I have seen him laugh like a maniac, but this sinister look from Lelouch is rare.
Imo Lelouch is grateful to Rolo for sacrificing himsel to save his life. (despite knowing he hated him), but he never forgave Rolo for killing Shirley; that's why he never mourned over him like he did with other characters.
Clovis and Rolo death had the least impact on him.
R2 stage 15
He stopped going to Ashford after Shirley's death and became full-time Zero. He doesn't care about his identity being exposed.
It seems like Ashford without Shirley is meaningless to him, and he also didn't want his other friends to die a tragic death (Rolo's psychotic jealousy).
R2 Stage 03
This reckless move on destroying Geass order and revealing himself as Zero made the emperor use Nunnally, as Trump card, and the Black Knights started doubting him after the massacre. All events led to Zero Requiem.
Shirley's death initiated the path of Zero requiem.
Lelouch's original plan was to quietly defeat Britannia and bring peace to the world (without revealing his identity). He wanted to live in a peaceful world with Shirley. (There is a short story about Lelouch's ideal world that he dreamed of).
P.S - This is such a classic one used by a male anime protagonist for his girl ( for ignoring them due to important stuff).
In Code Geass series, both Lelouch and Shirley are dead, and I hope they are reborn again and live in the peaceful world that Lelouch created.
Honestly, I haven't watched the movies, and I don't feel like watching (the clips didn't help), and I really don't understand why they kept Shirley alive (shove her in the corner) and why did they make Shirlulu date if Cclulu was the end game.
