Lead And Be Legendary (LABL), is a new, indie music company based in Detroit and the creative spawn of hip-hop artist Nametag and hometown turntable legend DJ DDT. LABL is a platform for artists who are willing to push the borders of artistry without having to answer to the whims of a corporate interest. To demonstrate this principle, Nametag completed a 5 part freestyle series titled "W.I.T.H.I.N" (Who In The Hell Is Nametag). W.I.T.H.I.N. featured Nametag repurposing some of his favorite industry tracks (both new and dated) into a calling card for his signature style of aggressive lyricism and inventive flow. Over the course of the freestyle series, DJ DDT was inspired to build original production around a select few of the stand out freestyles and also the lead original track, "Relentless" featuring Detroit MC, Travis Slang. While in the recording process of his own debut, R&B Singer-Songwriter, King DeAngelus had the idea to present a body of work with a mixtape feel, at the length of an EP, giving equal recognition to both the DJ and recording artist. This spawned the term, "mixtaEP", and "Lead And Be Legendary: The MixtaEP" will be the first of many. There's a silver cover edition of the mixtaEP that can be found in digital spots for music such as Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and more for stream and/or download.
