Methods I Use

Tied Sleeves: I get a jacket or sweater and tie the sleeves and proceed to fill them with shit.

Pants: I shove things like face masks, jeans, etc. in the waist band of my pants while i have a loose shirt or hoodie on.

Pockets: I put little things on my hoodie or jeans pockets

Phone Method: I have a video of this on my dash, basically i conceal something behind my phone and either put it in my bag or hoodie pocket.

Tackle Box: Good for Wälmärt or any place that sells these and other things you’d like to snatch. Me and an old friend (years ago) would go into Wälmärt and get a tackle box while speaking about “our dads fishing trip” as to not seem sus. We would take out the interior organizer and fill it up with makeup, chargers, etc. The. go to self checkout and press don’t want to bag. It will read up as overweight. We got a bunch of shit from this and we only had to pay $5 for the box. We would always return the box and get our $5 back.

On Body: I will put on clothes under my clothes. Shirts under my hoodie/ shirt, shorts under my jeans, etc.

Sleeve: I will shove small things such as lip gloss, etc. in my sleeve and into my pocket or shopping bag.

Shopping Bag: I carry a big Äëröpöstälë or F21 bag with me so I can drop things in.

Waist Trainer: I’ll wear this under a hoodie or sweatshirt, get what i want, and conceal in the fitting room by wrapping the item(s) around myself and tightening the waist trainer! This has helped me get four hoodies and conceal a bunch of smaller items already. It’s super easy as well since you can just slide things up between your stomach and trainer.

Sports Bra: I always wear one since it secures my magnet and can compress items. There have been times where I’d wear a hoodie with this (back when I didn’t have a waist trainer) and fold a shirt, to stick it halfway under my sports bra and (if it’s long enough or still showing through) tuck it into my pants.

Phone Method #2: This is to check for cameras. Act like you’re taking a selfie or video and boom, you know where the cams are. This is pretty widespread on here, but I thought I’d just include it.

Mirrors: You can also use the mirrors that are already in the store (body mirrors or the face mirrors like in Ültä) and adjust them so that it can show you any cams but also act like you’re checking your hair/face/outfit.

I will barely ever use my purse to keep shit in unless i have absolutely no space in my other bags or on body. I also will only put things in my purse after i’m out the store, in the bathroom. Even then i make sure the item is covered by something black (the purse lining is black) so you can’t tell. I’ve never been stopped. Only been sussed at Lülü (theyre sus of everyone 20 under) and Lüsh (after being a bit sloppy). Be careful! Hope you guys find this helpful. I believe it’s really helpful to avoid touching or going in your purse while snatching up some goodies (to avoid suspicion), and best to keep stuff out of it until you’re clear. Always have keywords for cameras, staff, or when you want to leave/are done!

Stores have that exact same mentality! So for this first month or so try to slow down or practice some new lifting techniques and home so you don’t get sloppy during a time where stores are trying to crack down on lifting :)

now i’m not trying to say stop lifting for a month or anything like that, but i think all of us in the community can focus more this month and even this year on experimenting with new lifting techniques and concealment methods

Below i have compiled a list that shows stores that have a relaxed policy and what to practice or experiment on!

EASIEST!

Cłâirę$ - this store could care less abt loss prevention OR its employees. Treat yourself to some nice new nails, some trendy earrings, or even a cute squishmellow!

frànçèšca$ - now this is debatable, but imo they are always super overwhelmed and is easy to practice with clothes and cute gifts

brandy - PLS someone agree with me that we need more partner concealment tips and fitting room drop and return tips!! this store is perf for those!!!

MEDIUM!

F21 - tbh i would consider this hard unless you have a magnet. They could not care less and if you buy a few things with magnets, and conceal more on ur body, they’ll usually wave you through lol. Would be most useful for trying out magic bags and new magnets

H&M - everyone says this is easy but GIRL- the layout of the store is awful and it feels like awkward trying to lift ANYTHING. Would best be used for body concealment and practice on blind spots and CS

HARDEST!

aerie - SOOOO cute and would prob be medium if they had dressing rooms open, but would be best to try diff crowd conceal methods

lulu - again, super hard unless u have a fitting room. but would be good for boosting and learning how to talk ur way out of CS

From someone who works retail...

Sales associates taking clothes into fitting rooms:

If we ask to take ur clothes into the fitting room ALWAYS say yes the first time and don’t hide anything in them (aka double hanging) bc then we’ll be sus

Just let us take that first group of clothes, bc if we ask you a second time just say smth like “no I’m still deciding if I want these”

Letting us take the first group of clothes,even if it’s a small number, puts so much more trust into you from an employees pov

From there you can grab just a shit ton of clothes (not a crazy amount but you get it) and just go into ur room. From there since you have quite a few clothes to “try on” they won’t bother you rly.

Taking off tags in a quiet store:

If you find yourself in a dead silent store or a store that has quieter music in fitting rooms (most stores do this so we can hear you removing tags) either ft a lifting friend who is outside and do random “do you like this” or “does this make me look pale” talk or record yourself talking and edit it so your voice is a little deeper and also edit the FaceTime connecting sound to make it more believable.

All SA HATE when people are talking on the phone so find that sweet spot of being just annoying to make them walk away and loud enough that you can’t hear the pop of the tags <3

Sęphørâ lifting tips🪐

We can all agree that Sêphørå is the worst of the worst when it comes to lifting. The two times i’ve ever gotten caught was AT śéphòrå and I used that experience to practically get away every single time now 🤪

When you first arrive, act normal and shop around. Do NOT bring a big bag with you or you will be immediately suspected. I carry my tiny everyday crossbody bag bc I won’t be using it anyway.

I like to smell perfumes and test some makeup before I do anything. DO NOT and I mean DO NOT attempt to steal full size bottles of perfume. Once you’re in the perfume section looking at the big bottles, you’re going to have eyes all over you no matter where you go with that bottle. I keep it safe and if I DO want perfume, I take the mini travel ones bc they’re never tagged and I just slip them into my sleeve.

When lifting here, the only method I swear by and ONLY use, is the sleeve method. Practically every item there will fit in your sleeve. I like to wear an oversized Sherpa jacket with sleeves tight enough that items don’t fall out, and open enough that I can slip things super easily in them. Since it’s Sherpa, it’s so much fuzz no one is going to notice your sleeve dangling full with stuff. I’m able to act completely normal and even go up to the register and buy stuff without the stuff in my sleeve bringing attention.

When you do the sleeve method. DO NOT just pick up and item, and immediately slip it in your sleeve. I like to pick up an item and smell or test the testers before I grab something else, and as I’m WALKING around, I’ll slip it into my sleeve. Whoever is watching you Is going to be so distracted with you holding other stuff and you walking, that they aren’t going to notice you’re slipping something in your sleeve, especially if you’re not acting suspicious or nervous and shoving everything at once, that’s how you get caught.

Don’t get greedy. Seriously. That’s how you get caught. I made for myself so that I take 4 items max of whatever size there now, and that’s if I only need it. I’ve been able to take OLAPLEX shampoos and makeup of whatever size I really wanted with this method and never took more than what I actually wanted.

I never stay there for too long, or else you become suspicious. Once I take what I want, I head straight to the register and look at all the travel size items they have on a shelf at the line. Usually once you’re in that area, it’s practically an amazing blind spot since #1, whoever is watching you sees you’re in line to “pay”, #2, there’s no cameras in that area except the once’s facing the registers in case of emergencies. Anyone whose working will not bother you because you’re looking at all the travel size stuff in that area and they think you’re paying.

I like to stay there for a minute or two and then leave immediately after. My Sephora is always busy so the workers will always be occupied with other people and won’t notice you just leaving immediately after. Once they see you’re in line, all attention to you is gone.

This is basically my method I use to get away all the time with at šêphòrã. I never get sussed no matter who I’m with or what I’m wearing. Take this info with a grain of salt and always be careful.

Omg! 🙌🏻 I can totally vouch for this. I’ve also been caught a few times at Sephora. I especially agree with the info about bringing a big bag and eyes being on you with perfume. They always watch you when you have perfume in your hands. Also be super careful because the floor it has really good LP

H&NM you need a magnet to remove the tags, sometimes has Lp so be careful. But I believe their regional Lp

Older NaveyBlue: Does indeed tag clothing but is very sloppy and usually you can find something untagged if you look hard enough. Requires a magnet as well. Does employ LP but like H$mn I believe they are regional as well. Just had a close call a few weeks ago with their Lp so I know for a fact that they do actually employ them. I previously thought they didn’t until that situation.

A simple log of all stores I’ve lifted in my life. I’m not going over a whole lot most of it is common sense.

Dîłłärd’š- 10/10

Very active LP and has a police officer stationed at every location. Biased cuz I got caught here LMAO. Cams rotate and always monitored. 2-3 LP guys watching cameras/on computers. The lady’s in the black clothing do work with LP on floor so BE AWARE.

Bè5t Bûÿ - 10/10

I took a life proof case like 8 years ago because I shoved it in my shirt and walked into the bathroom and unboxed it and left. Idk how I didn’t get stopped LOL. Stationed LP at the door at all times, poses as greeters.

Márśhäł’$ - 9/10

Active LP. 2-3 employees always by the door. 1 employee by the door an hour before close. Best to conceal in toys, home decor, and men’s clothing.

T/J/Mâx 9/10

Similar to Marshall’s. However you have a lot more blind spots in clothing racks.

Tárg3t 9/10

Only scary because of cameras. Creating your own blind spots very difficult but less likely to get caught doing VERY small hauls. If 1ifting at this store it’s best to never return to that location, better off doing it at a store that’s hours away from you.

Šèphörã (stand alone) 9/10

I’ve scoped out stores but never lifted her because their LP is badass. The sa’s always on your ass especially if you’re AMAB or PoC. Cameras are heavily monitored. Will chase/prosecute, so avoid this store.

\/\/@1m@rt 7/10

Only been sussed twice, but managed to get away. Apply your knowledge because Walmart is literally easy just be fucking careful. Avoid concealing in electronics and auto parts section.

Bøx Łūñčh 7/10

Difficult because of store layout and employees are always on your ass. Just conceal behind clothing or behind large shelves. Stay away from concealing near register. Has soft tags and door alarms etc.

Šèph0rá (JCP) 7/10

Similar to the stand alone stores but these stores are watched by J/C/P LP. Since they have a whole other store to watch over with more theft likely hood of getting caught is slimmer but still not easy.

H0t t0pìç 6/10

Similar to box lunch. My local location is like 8/10 but two out of the three stores I hit are 6/10. Just conceal behind the checkout counter. Self explanatory.

Èárthbøúñd 6/10

SA’s are ALWAYS up my ass even worse than box lunch. Just conceal when they’re not looking. If a mall store has glass walls just face away and face a shelf or racks of clothing for cöceáłíng

Easier in the large white barn stores. Smaller stores are difficult because of less blind spots and store layout. The larger mall stores are super easy just use common sense. I’ve done 2 $150+ walkouts back to back. Very small cams are present.

Avoid the middle of the store or the area where the adult toys are. Around backpacks and t shirt racks are highly recommended. Just peel off soft tags.

Blind spots are hard to find but they’re there. Avoid lifting around the back or checkout area. My favorite area to cöñcèâł is kids toys.

Hóbbÿ Łøbbÿ 3/10

Only crafts store with known LP. NEVER lurk around fine arts with items in your hands you’ll get sa’ed to death. Cöncèal in home decor.

Śáłłÿ’ś Bèâùtÿ Šüppłÿ 2/10

Very small store with mirrors present in corners. No cams or LP to my knowledge. Easier if you’re AFAB it’s harder for us AMAB folks to lift here alone. Make sure you’re not visible to the cashier at the counter when concealing. This store is quiet, so don’t take anything out of packages. My stores have towers.

Bàrñè’ś & Ñöbłé 1/10

No one even acknowledges my existence here it’s amazing. Popsocket heaven! Just peel off sticky tags. Best to conceal around isles close to the bathroom.

Míçhāëł’š 1/10

Literally a shöpłíftėr’ß HEAVEN. Just avoid the big scary cameras. Blind spots are present mostly in racks of fabric and home decor, avoid lifting in fine art.

Bïg Łötś 1/10

Easy beginner store (could be based on location). Cameras mostly present around the interior outskirts of the store (not likely to be present in the middle isles of the store including cosmetics) but could vary from store to store. No LP as far as I’m aware of.

Dôłłâr Gèńèräł 1/10

Very easy. Employees usually on a smoke break or not paying attention. Cams, tags, and door alarms are present. Just use common sense. Don’t conceal in cosmetics or electronics.

Tags & How to Remove them

GATOR TAGS: You can remove them by wrapping a rubber band in between the pin and the tag. Type in “How to remove gator tag with rubber band” on youtube.(: THIS IS THE ONLY TAG THAT CAN BE REMOVED WITH A RUBBER BAND.

SENSORMATIC TAG: I’ve seen them as white, tan, and black. As long as it has a little slot on it, you can remove it with a hook. Below is a picture of what a hook looks like and where you can order it in the U.S.

I call the first 3 tags “golf” and “clam” tags. I don’t know what #4 and #5 are called. I’ve never seen #7-#9 either. Haha. #6 is a pencil tag attached to a lanyard. Lanyards are tough to cut. You’d have to have some wire cutters or something. All of the tags above can be removed with a golf detacher, which is made of a Neodymium magnet. SPIDER WRAP: These are normally used on boxed items. DON’T TRY TO CUT THE WIRES BECAUSE AN ALARM WILL SOUND. You can either remove it by ripping off a corner of the box and shimmying the wrap off or you can use a spider wrap detacher. I’m not sure how the detacher works because I don’t have one, but you can search it up on youtube.(: A picture of the detacher and a link to buy it is below.

general -double-check for secutiry tags -sensors inside cardboard tags in clothing -just double-check everything -if you’re lifting all day with your car, keep an empty gym bag in your backseat and dump stuff there in between stores -if the barcode is printed on the product and it is not a sticker, it won’t go off! -if you can, detag/conceal/etc in the men’s dressing room -bring your signifcant other and kiss them passionately if an SA is looking at you -grab two of everything you want - steal one and keep the other in the basket -be confident -don’t get cocky -be careful -if it feels wrong, put it back -browse openly -scope out the places beforehand -the umbrella method: close the umbrella most of the way and drop small items in it (pracitce at home!) -dress like a rich snobby white kid: skinny jeans with boots and a north face & infinity scarf

sephora -never just go in, lift and leave -look around and test out shades. have a question about stuff you’re looking at ready. -test everything. look interested in makeup and new to high end stuff -carry a bag from somewhere else that’s deep enough to shut at the top; ex. forever 21 bags -have a smaller purse and have like a hat or a pair of gloves or something (in the winter) that you can shuffle around in the bag so if an SA spots you mid-conceal or comes around a corner, etc, you can grab your gloves/hat/etc and put them on like you’re getting ready to leave the mall -listen to SA’s on their headsets. if you hear “so and so needs a bag”, drop and run -never lift from a jc penney sephora -if you lift from sephora and feel weird after, go to a place young people usually don’t go. then leave super hard. -it helps to be carrying something expensive with you, or wearing it. look expensive. have expensive taste. -if an SA asks you what you’re wearing for makeup now, always say something expensive. “nars sheer glow and a little bareMinerals powder” works for me. fake expensive taste. -don’t wear headphones. -don’t wear a beanie. -wear lipstick in a noticeable shade. wearing a bright bold lip will make it look you know what you’re doing. if you don’t, go in on a day you won’t be lifing and ask for a tutorial on how to do a lip. -wear heels. youll look classier. -take pictures of things. if an SA shows you an item, take a picture; you’ll look genuinely interested. -if you’re about to leave but feel like someone is onto you, stop and play with a foundation. ask for help finding your shade and ask for a sample. the whole process takes a really long time. act sincerely interested. talk about your current foundation (use an expensive one) and say it breaks you out a bit or dries you out. make it sound worse. have a whole conversation. -when leaving, do not look around at other people. do not. go from looking at a product, checking your phone/the time, then leave. this works well. fake a phone call! say “yeah, i’m just in sephora, i’m leaving in two seconds. where did you want to meet? okay! see you soon.” mentioning the store is pretty helpful. -be really nice.

ulta -some ultas use soft RFID tags on their palettes/expensive items -if there are no blind spots, you can make one by facing the opposite way of the camera, or standing behind a partner -wear something fashionable. do your makeup well. break out your brand-name items… look expensive. look like you can buy that whole store if you wanted to. -bring a big bag; one that has structure so that SAs can’t tell if it’s full or not. lots of lifters like the Michael Kors  Jet Set or Selma tote. -walk in; if you’re greeted say hello and smile back -grab an ulta shopping bag. place it in the crook of your elbow. leave your purse up by your shoulder until you can get to a blind spot. -test stuff! -put some stuff in your ulta bag! try putting two of the things you want so it’s not as sus. fill it up with items so it won’t be as noticeable on camera. -find your blind spot and move your purse to the crook of your elbow. conceal. don’t linger. -put the stuff you don’t want back! -if you have a bad feeling, ditch and go -perfumes are super tagged don’t even think about it -don’t park anywhere near it so they can’t track your plates after you leave, just in case -best time: weekday evenings and weekend afternoons -go to prestige and take like one minute, then pick out some random item, then get a shopping bag so it looks like you actually want things -have a question ready, ask for a product they don’t have -blind spots: high-end skincare aisle, low-end haircare aisle, clearance? -do your best to look nice and cute! confidence is key -if you’re not getting good vibes, it’s okay to leave!

old navy -nothing is tagged and there are no cameras??? -dressing rooms aren’t monitored

groceries -go to the biggest 24/7 grocery store and scope it out at like 3-4 am -get a small cart with 2 layers and put two big reusable grocery bags there, open. put your groceries in there while you shop. then just walk out -it’s important that you scope it out before actually going. make sure nobody is stationed at the doors at all times. -if you’re nervous and there’s nobody at the door, walk out looking at an old receipt like you’re looking at how much you spent or the taxes or whatever

urban outfitters -find a store that gives out large paper bags with those stringy handles. ask for a couple for a project on ‘branding’ or something. fill up like a quarter of the space to make it look normal. -there are magnet sensors -little items like books, home accessories, and jewelry can be carried in your hands; find a spot where no one can see you and just stuff what you want into your bag. corners are always good

sally’s beauty supply -no cameras -no-chase policy -between 5 and 8pm is your best shot -an hour or so after they open is the best time to lift something large; another person doesn’t come in until 10:30 or 11:00

lifting bag -large structured bag so that you can’t tell when it’s full or not

hot topic -the corners are good -bracelets are probably tagged

pier 1 -nothing is tagged -cameras are to monitor employee theft -nice candles, jewelry, scarves, stationary and trinkets

barnes & noble -cameras in toys/collectibles, the music/dvds, comics, the gift card/accessories area, and the sitting/reading area -good blond spot: classic lit -books are tagged sporadically -get a cup of coffee!!

A tip from an ex-magician to my lifting babies ♡

That has got to be the most ridiculous title for myself. Anyway. GOOGLE MAGIC TRICKS. LEARN SLEIGHT OF HAND THROUGH MAGIC TUTORIALS.

Guys I was OBSESSED with magic as a kid and I practiced it until I was a junior in high school. You know how easily I took to lifting? Ridiculously. I’ve fucking concealed with employees staring me in the eye during my first ever haul. They can’t tell shit. And they had no idea. There’s tricks you can learn that are INVALUABLE. Of course don’t go running up to lp and concealing in front of them right away. I’ve been playing with sleight of hand and illusions for years. You’d be amazed how much better you can get at lifting if you learn tricks similar to it.

Penny behind the ear? Oh no. I pulled a fucking nAKED PALLETTE OUT OF YOUR DAMN ASS HOW’S THAT FOR A TRICK.

To add to this: look up Apollo Robbins and the sort of stuff he does: he explains diverted attention really well, and basically how to direct others’ gazes to particular areas while doing something else. Of course, Robbins uses it for stage effects, but if you take the basic premise and get creative with it and apply it to lifting… you’re all set. Practice this shit in the bathroom mirror at home and stuff, too, with items around the same size and weight as stuff you’re lifting. (If you don’t have those items yet, use small packets, or lipglosses or pens or whathaveyou.)   And get very, very good at not looking at your hand while you’re doing stuff (including removing and even finding RFID tags, as well as concealing). Ideally you want your attention– and anyone else’s– focussed on what you’re doing with your other hand, which should be looking at a product/price/etc.

This is very good advice. I’ve also used the same philosophies as professional pickpockets (they use sleight of hand, same as magicians) and been very successful with it.

on-floor concealing methods

first and foremost, always conceal in a blindspot! if there aren’t any natural ones, duck down to create one or, if you’re with a lifting buddy, have them stand between you and the camera.

♥ clothing rack

pick up an item and walk over to a clothing rack. go to a clothing rack and, with the same hand as the item, pretend to look through the clothes. as your hand is deep in the rack, either sleeve the item or drop it into your purse. this is a great, natural way to create a blindspot. 

♥ double and sleeve

this is the most basic sleight-of-hand and is something every lifter needs to have in their tool belt. this works for long and small items, like lipgloss or mascara. grab two of the same item, hold them as if they’re one, and slide one into your sleeve. you can do this while swinging your arm to propel the item into your sleeve, or just put it subtly in with your fingers. 

♥ drop

this works for bigger items. wedge several items between your elbow and ribs.  “accidentally” drop one of them from your elbow into your bag as if you had too many items and one of them just fell into your bag accidentally. 

♥ lightning conceal

this one is literally just putting something into your purse as quickly as possible. ONLY do this in a blindspot as it’s very obvious the intent is to steal the item. 

♥ starbucks cup

get an opaque coffee cup, cut an X into the bottom, and shove little items (concealer, lip gloss, mascara etc) into it. if you do it properly they shouldn’t fall you. you can also pad the cup. 

♥ food bag

get a bag of food from the mall food court. eat some and leave some food in there. drop items into your bag. if you get sussed, you can eat food out of the bag. an alternative of this is to put a hole in the side of the bag and put items through the hole rather than just through the top of the bag. 

♥ armpit

tuck something under your armpit and either walk out with it there or walk to a blindspot and lightning conceal. 

♥ long skirt

wear tight spandex and, when squatting in front of a low shelf at sephora or ulta, push your skirt up slightly and slide a small item into it. pallettes may fit in the waistband. make sure you practice this at home to make sure they’re tight enough and nothing will fall out.

♥ phone

hold something small between your hand and your phone and then put your phone and item back into your purse like you’re only holding your phone.
