Ticket barriers are basically to stop faredodgers, however this barrier is basically your best friend.
This is a family ticket barriers, so it only closes when the whole family passes the barrier, unlike the single barriers
Single barriers, you could go through this but you need to be fast, and pretty close to the person who actually used their ticket.
All you need to do is walk through the family ticket barriers when a paying person goes through it.
What about the people at the ticket barriers?
Donât worry about them. Generally most of them donât care about their job as they stand there for hours and get really tired. However if you do panic about them, buy a cheaper ticket to another station (cheaper to the one your going to) make it a child ticket and then go through the barriers. Then at the station you get off at (if they also have barriers) just go through the family ticket barriers.
What about ticket inspectors?
Generally what I do is hide in the toilet until the ticket inspectors have checked the tickets (not nice I know) and then go sit back down. Mostly they do only check once. Sometimes they dont check (but in far distance trains they will check once, maybe twice)
Donât fight the penalty fare. However, do give a fake name and a fake address (memorize one) they do ask for Id but say you left it at home. They cant track you down if you gave fake details, so all that ticket debt, you wonât need to pay it. But try not to get caught.
