discord has been pushing its new uk online safety act changes early for some users. this screenshot belongs to a 32 year old who used discords built in face scanner to verify their age. the scanner said they were 11 years old, and instantly suspended the account, with no option to try again or appeal, and the suspension will automatically end in 2027, when they’re “old enough” to use discord.

DO NOT SCAN YOUR FACE TO VERIFY YOUR AGE

if you really want to verify your age, use a different option available. don’t trust the face scan.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour coming from Westminster in which the tories have invoked section 35 of the Scotland Act which blocks bills from achieving royal assent.

While this means nothing to the average tumblr user, they are invoking this in regards to the new gender recognition reform bill which makes it easier for trans people to legally change their gender. Saying it would affect the rest of the UK too much.

Equal opportunities are a devolved matter. The Scottish Parliament and Government makes decisions on this. Not the UK. They have never used section 35 before.

Not only that, in response to this bill, they were planning on not acknowledging any other countries GRR bills.

This is clearly attack on trans people.
