Hi! Thank you for your interest in my art, I am honored and appreciate the support. My intention from here on out is to live consciously and be true to myself and my purpose. I want to share with you a little piece of my heart on canvas and wish that my art inspires, evokes a feeling or brings back a memory that hopefully creates a ripple effect connecting us all together. I love the idea that we all have something special and unique to offer one another and so here's me! I was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba, my mother is a fashion designer and my parents worked in the fashion industry all my life. I was exposed to art and creativity at a very very young age, helping and observing my mother in her element creating beautiful clothing in her factory and at home. I learned about color and texture and loved painting, primarily abstract works as early as 4 years of age. As a child I took plenty of art classes at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, along with classes at various other less formal childrens programs. My work was admired and shown in the Winnipeg Art Gallery, though I never made it a primary focus until my adult years. I didn't realize that what makes you happy as a child could actually be what you could do as an adult... this way of thinking led me to a practical and pragmatic education and career in Finance. I spent 10+ years in the banking and financial world, I excelled in my career however never felt content and satisfied. I longed for something creative though art was never on my mind. One day my then boyfriend Chris, now husband; and I discussed our plans for the future and made the decision to move to Vancouver. We decided that the move was an opportunity for a fresh start in a new city, fulfilling dreams and creating the life we knew we truly wanted and deserved. Art was now going to be a part of this new adventure. I am self taught, still have lots to learn and lots of mistakes to be had however I'm proud to say my work has been created in both my home & first art studio while spending many hours self discovering and finally feeling free to let out my creative spirit. Fast forward 2 and a half years since moving, and we are now loving life in downtown Vancouver with the new addition of our amazing baby boy Eddie. I'm thrilled about the bright exciting love filled future ahead of us and look forward to the day I am able to create art with my son. My painting has become a large part of my life now; though to be perfectly honest the past months as a mom has been a major distraction, a good one at that, but the art is making its way back into my life again with a fresh direction. I couldn't be more certain that we made the right decision to get uncomfortable and start fresh! I am inspired by life itself, love, travel, food, fashion, nature, beauty in emotion and raw feelings that cannot be expressed in any other way than in the form of a totally unique & personal piece of artwork. I believe that we each have something amazing and special to offer this world, and that the more connected we are the sweeter it is. My role as a mother is teaching me so many new things and I know that my creative expression will be guided in a new way as a result.
