Ye Olde Obligatory Pinned Post
Hi there! TL;DR? Okay - Words. Polyamory. Reblogs. Geek shit. For more, see below.
You can call me Dan, Leam, Grem, or duuude if you've smoked a few blunts. I'm a French Canadian fella dwelling in the occasionally verdant, occasionally mordant bowl of the Saint Lawrence River Valley. I call both Montreal and the South Shore extensions of my home, and I'm like everyone else here in that a good chunk of my digs is on this here blog. I'm a frustrated Postgrad student with a Masters in Popular Literature and an unfulfilling job in Communications and Marketing. I write sales pitches for car dealerships for a living and wrangle a small business' network architecture, and you'll sometimes catch a few tagged work-related posts on here.
Being someone who's survived thanks to how many words he manages to cram on a page, I tend to get a little wordy. I also like to voice my thoughts on here. Not all of my Reblogs might be to everyone's tastes - that's unavoidable. I'll always welcome constructive criticism, however.
I'm a gamer, an aspiring writer hard at work on too many manuscripts and projects at once, a geek - and also a disabled bi, cis man living with mild Cerebral Palsy. I don't get especially soapbox-y on here, but if you don't exactly swing on the Progressive side of things, chances are you'll find your stay here frustrating. Maybe look elsewhere, if that's the case.
I'm also poly! You'll find posts on here tagged "life post", wherein I post off-the-cuff musings on the trials, pleasures and tribulations of living with a girl who's slightly younger than me and a man who's several decades older. All names used are fictitious, all references to my workplace and personal life are slightly fictionalized and obfuscated for privacy's sake.
My original works and fics can be found on my AO3 profile and will also be linked here, unless their length makes reading them in blog form a bit too uncomfortable. You'll also catch the occasional game review on here - I'm particularly proud of my little piece on Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.
Askbox is currently closed, but you can always message me. Having had a few bad experiences with Anons, I'd ask that you avoid obfuscating your profile, if possible - I'd see it as a basic show of respect, seeing as I've never lurked around anyone else's blog as an Anon. I can understand if you're shy, but I've had to deal with a ton of trollish types who clearly didn't have it in them to debate like adults. Stepping out in the open means a lot, in-context. An unfortunate consequence of this is I've taken to organize their one-shot snipes in the "flames" tag. If you're using Tumblr Savior or a similar plugin and want to save yourself from displays of occasional toxicity, consider adding "tag: flames" to your blocklist, if you plan on perusing my blog.
That said, happy scrolling!
