Prepositions
suffixes
Prepositions can occur as suffixes on verbs. Examples include:
kunveni: to meet
reveni: to come back
alveni: to arrive
deveni: to come from/originate in
elveni: to come out
interveni: to intervene
You can use them with the accusative:
Ili suriras la cxevalon: They get on the horse
Ni eniris la cxambron: We entered the room
the preposition el
The preposition el often has the meaning of “completely, thoroughly,” as in these examples:
La prokoj elmangxis la pomojn: the pigs ate all the apples.
Jasmina ellaboris la planon: Jasmina worked out the plan
Eltrinku, kamaradoj! Drink up, camrades!
