Catch me never getting engaged while everyone else is
I am really struggling
I have that feeling like my throat is going to come out of my mouth
I get really paranoid that my boyfriend is mad at me or doesn’t love me anymore
My fucking psychiatrist won’t return my calls to schedule an appointment to fill my meds. I have called 4 times now and have 4 days of meds left
It gets really annoying when people offer you food and you say “oh no thank you” and they keep pestering you about it and then you finally admit you’re allergic to the food and they freak out like you just said you kick puppies for fun.
Yes I know it might seem like heck on earth for you to never eat chocolate or cake or pizza ever again but you’re not the one who can’t so please stop going on about it for 5 minutes straight and let me go on my merry way to eat soy products and cheap tasteless substitutes for the rest of my life.
Same thing happens when I tell people that I’ve never had pb&j or puppy chow or reese’s cups etc… Or, better yet, when I have to tell Israelis that I can’t have falafal or hummus….
food allergies are a social justice issue.
food allergies are a social justice issue because access to care, knowledge, and safe food is related to class.
food allergies are a social justice issue because when women assert our dietary needs, we are dismissed as diet-obsessed.
food allergies are a social justice issue because girls trained to be timid may not speak up about their needs in life-endangering contexts.
food allergies are a social justice issue because many cultures and religions have food-centered rituals, and to place food at the center of community is to exclude those with food restrictions from the community.
food allergies are a social justice issue because a lack of sexual consent and discussion can lead to life-threatening reactions. a kiss from a person who has eaten an allergen can put an allergic individual in the hospital.
food allergies are a social justice issue because the word “allergic” is casually used in social justice contexts with no awareness of the way that trivializes allergies’ seriousness.
food allergies are a social justice issue.
My thoughts: 1. It has taken me along time to feel comfortable advocating for myself at restaurants or in group settings 2. As a Jew with my particular food allergies…. - “chinese food and a movie day” aka Christmas, is a struggle - Many Israelis don’t understand my inability to have hummus or falafal - summer camp gets hard because soy is in ALL the things… - eating at onegs? Not unless it’s fruit pr the cookies are pre-packaged and well-labeled - I can’t really participate in chabad at my school because they use soy to make things parve (understandable, of course, but frustrating)
Feeling like a burden when you make special food requests:
Having to explain your intolerance or allergy to waitstaff that doesn't understand what they are:
I fckn hate thanksgiving
- Amen to that

#SelfCare is a good app on ITunes for anxiety/overstimulation
You may feel like you will never get better. You may feel like the pain will never end. That you will never be happy again. But guess what. You have made it through every single one of your worst days so far. You can and will make it through this too.
Recovery is not a straight line. There are ups and downs, twists and turns. Some days are worse than others, but some are also better than others. Relapse happens, that doesn’t mean you failed. As long as you try your best and keep getting up after you fall, you will get better. Recovery isn’t always visible. Sometimes you don’t notice how far you have come until one day you look back and realize you are no longer the person you once were. Each day contains new experiences and lessons, you grow each and every day into the person you are.
Keep your head up. <3

intrusive thoughts are created because they’re what you fear the most. they’re not what you’re going to do. they’re what you hate most of all.
they’re not an indication of how evil you are. the only thing they indicate is what you’re most against.
A comic about controlling your symptoms and trying to get other people to understand why it’s so hard to do so, in goo form
What it’s like to have any kind of chronic illness or mental illness. What it’s like to say, “Hey, I’m suffering from this symptom today.” but feeling like you’re making everyone else upset. Except, this issue happens every single day and it’s basically my whole life and it sucks and yeah. How can I NOT talk about something that happens to me every day.
SMASH that reblog button if you have no idea how you’re going to get through your life in this much pain
An ode to my Pain
Sometimes I think I’m okay
Like it’s all finally over
And I am better,
But then it comes
The vines of pain
That wrap around my body
Thighs
Spine
Back
Pelvis
Uterus
I can feel my inner body
Twisting
Pulling
Screaming for help
But all I can do
is lay silently crying
On the bathroom floor
And hope for the better days to come
