it's two weeks until the hungarian elections and tensions are HIGH, which was expected. what I did not expect is a story to unfold straight out of a spy movie, where the intelligence service tried to bribe a 19 yo IT guy from the opposing party to gain information and essentially ruin them before the elections, then realizing that the guy is fucking with them and not on their side at all, to which their reaction was to misuse their power and investigate the IT guy on child pornography claims (to gain access to his equipment and potentially ruin his reputation). all of this being uncovered and the people involved giving 90+ minute interviews with their names and faces, again, TWO WEEKS before the elections (the first election where there's a real chance that we might overturn the corrupt Fidesz government after 16 years in power).

what's especially funny to me now is that the person trying to rope in the 19 yo guy identified as "Henry" in his communications, and now what we have is hungarian political commentary channels talking about the issue, using a fucking stranger things meme format.

ooooh, haven’t got so far into it yet, just read about 1/3 of the book because i keep facing language barriers with some english words, but that doesn’t hold me back from LOVINGGG IT. it’s truly an exceptional novel due to its subject to me. so if anyone adores nature (especially forests/trees) on this level, or interested to learn about it a bit more through a well storytelling, should give this book a chance! i can’t wait to go back at it 🌳 and also very-very excited to meet you soon, wahaaaaaa cc:
