     i understand that the fda wants to put the calorie counts on everything that’s    a ‘prepared’ food, but... honestly, lady, if you’re coming up to the fried    c hicken counter, and you ask me why we don’t have “healthy” side options,    then you’re fucking entitled to go and get a salad. What’s that? our chicken    isn’t fried in a gluten friendly manner? fuck off.

  “Fuck me?“

  Please. A long torso bent back, missing the blow and the blond retaliated with his own. "Never gonna happen–” He sidesteps, quick on his feet – speculating that maybe he was going too hard on Leonhart – "I’m not that bored…” He leans in, his words a near hiss– “…and you’re not that lucky–”

  Then again, maybe not. This sloppy footwork Squall was sporting could have easily been a method to throw Seifer off his own tactic. 

  He hears that roar and gets ready. Good, better, yes– up until Squall went for that tackle. Nope. Poor form. Both hands, Leonhart? Really? He never stood a chance.

  So very quickly was Squall laid out, flat on his back as Seifer loomed over him, moving to crouch down, reaching down to pat his cheek. He’s disappointed, knowing Squall was far better than this. Weren’t they supposed to be rivals? Equally matched in both intelligence and skill?   Wasn’t that what Garden whispered about, anyway?

  “We’re done for the day. You’re too emotional. It’s compromising your training. Whatever’s goin’ on with you better be sorted before tomorrow, Squall.“ 

   pain crackled in his head like static, blood red roses blooming behind his    eyes. dammit. he lost. again. this was the fourth time. fifth? the beaten lion    couldn’t remember. what was he thinking? his emotions pulled on different    muscles when he began fighting. anger, loneliness, frustration. he felt them    push away with every punch he tried to land. 

   but here he was, on the ground, with blood pouring from his nose. was it not    enough? was his lone training just a joke to seifer? whatever. it didn’t matter.

   squall attempted to roll over. failed. he felt his ribs cave in, a groan creaking    passed his grit teeth. he wasn’t moving for a while. maybe he’d die here, in    the training grounds by some low level grat. just devour him until he’s    nothing but fluid. with squall’s luck he’d be alive for every moment. 

   as the boy tried to get up, he felt his mind replaying the match, recalling every    movement that seifer did. it was incredible the speed and precision that    he had, even without his weapon. what was he doing different? what could he do    different?
