Genya and Gyomei

After his brother’s demonization, Genya first enrolled in the demon slayer corps, which, this being more than a hundred years before cannon, was much less tolerant of a ‘talentless’ slayer like him, especially one that was missing an eye.

Gyomei, who I have made to exist in the same pre-cannon era, was the strongest Hashira of the time, and took Genya in as an understudy.

Unfortunately, this apprenticeship was not to last, as Gyomei went missing after a mission.

Assumed dead and no longer around to defend his tsugiko, Genya was forced to leave the corps.

It was in this state of despair that Michikatsu found Genya and turned him into a demon.
