Fanart for @teal-writes's fic PRESS RESTART!

As someone who sometimes does 3D modelling/rigging I found this scene really cool wahahah. Also I love how the impromptu barber session led them to having a heart-to-heart as well as some interesting character interactions (just like a real barbershop lol)

Also idk how it works in other softwares but at least in blender, the way you edit the mesh/rig of a character is through "edit mode" which snaps the character into their resting positions (or in this case T poses). I'd also usually handwave this thing for the sake of the story but thinking abt it is just rly funny to me lol

Maybe before he was just laying the new hair mesh on top of her model without actually editing her model directly, so when he was trying to add bones from Pomni's rig to the new mesh, he tapped into edit mode and inadvertently made Pomni paralyzed as well lol. I could see why this is the reason he usually edits their models/rigs while they're unconscious

Okay HELL YES HELLO I'M AWAKE NOW AND CAN APPRECIATE THIS PROPERLY!!!! First off, you draw these two SO adorably and I am obsessed!!!! Their expressions & poses!!! So spot-on!!!

I did a little research on 3D sculpting (and figured Caine would do it similarly to artists who sculpt in VR), but otherwise that scene was totally BSed, so HOLY hell does it mean a lot that you liked it & are able to bring some expertise in!!! Thanks so much for sharing all that!!! It really is fun to think about the nitty-gritty of how Caine creates things, and OMFG T-pose Pomni has me HOWLING 🤣🤣🤣🤣 SOMEONE HELP HER PLEASE 😭😭😭

Funfact: Caine having to immobilize Pomni's model to add significant, more direct edits will DEFINITELY be a thing down the line. 😎🔥🔥🔥 I just fudged it a bit for chapter 4 bc I wanted them to relax a little and have that heart-to-heart!!!

Secrets on Fichina

In the demo for Star Fox 2026 we get to play through Meteo. This level has two endings. One of which leads into Fichina, and the other which could lead to either Katina or Fichina. Each ending has a different cutscene.

In the first ending - where you face and defeat the Meteo Rock Crusher - General Pepper contacts the team and asks them to assist the Fichina base. He vanishes and Peppy and Falco say the following:

Fox and General Pepper then have this exchange:

Which okay, that gives us a reason for Venom to attack Fichina. A reason for this random base in the middle of nowhere to draw Andross' attention.

In the second ending to Meto, however, where we take the warp zone, Star Fox is given the option to either go and rescue Katina or Fichina. To help Fox make his decision, Peppy says the following about Fichina:

In this cutscene, when asked about why Andross would want to go after Fichina all Pepper says is this:

In the second version, Pepper leaves the choice of whether to save Katina or Fichina up to Star Fox. Which implies the intelligence base on Fichina is just as important as the Katinia Frontline Base.

It still begs the question though, what secrets is Pepper keeping? Just what information does that base hold? Given Star Fox's history, I suspect it has something to do with the reason of Andross' exile. Perhaps the reason James was the only one Pepper could trust to go to Venom.

I really hope this is a hint at us seeing another take on the Black Hole backstory for Andross and James. Or the teleporter from Zero if they choose to go that way. Maybe it's a new backstory entirely.

Or maybe this is all just a reason for Venom to attack Fichina and nothing more. We'll find out, I guess.

Since Caine isn't going to ask Queenie about the past, I will still answer this question. Yes. She did cared a lot about him

Even though she scolded Scratch and Kinger - to not get attached, she definitelly did seen him as her adoptive son

What brought these memories to her? She checked on his status and sees that his state is pretty sad.

Both Queenie and Kinger are very good at not showing strangers or normal friends their actual emotions, but they do slip. (Like Kinger will let Scratch and Queenie know about his feelings, but no one else)

I thought this was an interesting concept so i wrote a small snippet taking place after the last image. Not a good snippet but a snippet nonetheless.

"Oh I dunno Pomni, you tell me." Caine replied, the jovial energy that was usually present in his voice was absent now. He glared at the jester, the one with her face, the face that was now looking at him in pure confusion.

"After all, you're wearing her face!" He finished, slamming his fist onto the counter. The action garnered reactions from the players, most in confusion, with Kinger looking at him with what looked like sympathy.

Pomni seemed taken back from what he said, nearly dropping her glass of vodka. "W-what do you mean I'm-?"

"You're an asset reuse!" Caine interrupted, glaring at the jester who was now shrinking from his gaze.

Jax, who was in between the two, looked at Caine with a raised brow. "Uhh Caine, I don't think Ms.Youtuber here isn't a NPC. She's too much of a crybaby to be one." He snarked earning him glares from Ragatha and Zooble.

Caine didn't pay any mind to the sarcasm in Jax's comment. "Her avatar is a reuse." He explained, leading Pomni to look down her body. "Even the Digital Circus has its limits. It can't keep creating new Avatars for any new players so it has to use models that aren't currently being used-"

"Which," Pomni spoke slowly, her hands shaking from the implications of what Caine said. She looked up from her hands and to Caine, her red and blue eyes wide while her mouth was slightly open. It was an expression she would often make.

"Includes your wife." Pomni said in realization, sounding almost horrified. The bar was quiet, all eyes were now on him. Even Jax seemed shaken by what was said.

Caine realized his mistake. He said too much. His eyes widened for a second before putting on his mask once. "Oh whoops! Got too into character there!" He pulled back from his seat and jumped in the air, his casual clothing falling off him, revealing his ringmaster outfit.

He loosened his bowtie before turning back to the rest of the players. "I think this adventure lasted long enough!" He addressed them, avoiding making eye contact with the fearful Pomni. "How about we see what else is in the suggestion box, oh I know baseball!"

"Wait Caine!" Pomni jumped off her seat and looked up at him, her body shaking. "You can't just change the subject! We need to talk about this-"

She was cut off by Caine turning his mouth at her, his gaze blank. "We don't need to." Before she could object any further, he snapped his fingers.

The important aspect about Heartful is that Pomni's conjured heart that she gave Caine was the first time he was able to feel sensation, smell scent, and taste... tastes.

Of course, all of it from Pomni's memories.

Caine never really thought it possible, I mean I don't think anyone ever thought he would be able to feel this sort of thing, if you can even code this sort of thing? They, HE, all learned that 1. apparently you can 2. it was as simple as having Caine share senses with someone. (by accident)

The heart I suppose while not making him more empathetic as its intention was, did open the door for him to learn on his own. What better way than literally feeling the physical sensations of one of his guests? And while initially I didn't have it be that Pomni's emotions were shared to Caine, "Queen of Venus" did make me consider fully that even if Pomni didn't give him emotions, he can feel her indeed steaming up in anger, chilling in fear, or just being bubbly. A sort of physical sensation of emotion.
