Facts you should know about an LED Light Bar
First of all you need to know what is an LED Light Bar? It is a strip or bar of small LED lights that can be installed on your vehicle. Most often, they are relatively lightweight, highly durable, and energy efficient, with an average life expectancy of 25,000 to 100,000 hours of use.
The purpose of an LED light bar is to add a supplemental light to your vehicle’s headlights. It is for lighting up the dimly lit area directly in front of your vehicle and for adding extra illumination
These lights are also used by motorists as an extra source of light to the side of their vehicles. These lights help them due to the limited light offered to them by their vehicles, especially when travelling in dark places and poorly lit roads at night.
Other LED light bars, there are two other types of lights that you can add to your vehicle. These are halogen lights and HID lights. They can be found in either bars or spotlights style attachments, and in stores where LED lights are sold.
Halogen lights are the most popular lights in the car industry and are most likely the type of light that the headlights on your vehicle are. They are exceptionally cheap and simple to manufacture, though their brightness and durability isn’t as good when compared to other lights.
HID lights on the other hand are much more durable and brighter than halogen lights, but still have many problems and limitations:
· It has a delay of several seconds before reaching their maximum brightness;
· They are difficult to maintain, and is often costly to
· The quality of HID lights makes them blinding to oncoming traffic, while still remaining dimmer than LED lights.
While these types of lights are often cheaper, there are many differences. LED light bars are much brighter, last longer, and are more energy efficient than any other lights (such as Halogen and HID lights).
Comparing how much of the road is lit up by an LED light bar versus an HID or halogen light bar is as if comparing the sun to the moon. The differences are quite literally like night and day, making the LED lights the best choice of the three.
Advantages of LED bars
Energy Consumption
One of the potential problems with powerful light bars is, if your vehicle isn’t running when they are in use, they can quickly drain your battery.
Since LED light bars use only a very small portion of electricity, therefore they can be left on for long periods of time without having to worry about your battery going dead.
Apart of requiring very little electricity to operate and not having to heat up a filament to extremely high temperatures means that LED bar lights produce a very minimal amount of heat. This reduces the risk of the light damaging itself due to overheating, or burning out your vehicle.
Eco-friendly Bulbs and Durability
Traditional bulbs are often made out of hazardous materials that can be dangerous to both your health and the environment. These bulbs often contain mercury and carbon, both of which have been linked to multiple health conditions.
Besides being constructed of hazardous materials, traditional bulbs are also made of fragile and breakable materials such as glass, making them vulnerable to breaking. Fortunately, none of this is the case with LED lights. They are eco-friendly, durable, and does not cause any harmful health problems.
