Woah! Its been how long...
Ok, I have my excuse ready.
I was busy. Not a lie. My last post was the week beginning 24th of September. Its not umm, the 15th of November. Thats 1,2,3... 7 weeks. I knew it had slipped my mind but not 7 times I didn't
Any way, I have been busy doing many things with work, so busy that a half hour on a Monday morning wasnt free to do this.
I have been working on the Young Scot In tune video special which in my last post I had mentioned which I had been editing the Caroline Gilmour interview (photo below.) It was released on the 30th of October and to date has a whopping 115 view, OK, not whopping but i sighed relief when I seen it surpass the 100 mark. I have my reasons as to why it is not above 1000 along with not enough social media push at the organisation and that sometimes i feel i am the only one who wants to push it so motivation can be hard to come by when I'm flying the flag on my own to be honest. The video went well, lessons were learnt and we can only get stronger from such a project. I enjoyed the demand of a deadline, the push for quality, the interaction via social media through a competition and the final product turned out to be satisfying. I will post a link above.
Other podcasts have been released either side which have went well and also surpassed the 100 mark which is all reassuring considering its audio only.
As of the video release date my college units count wasn't hot, to say the least, I was getting nipped constantly by the course co-ordinator in regards to this, so I decided to push on and to cut a long story short I have went from 35 to 82 completed units in two weeks. College talk over.
I had been unsettled and feeling a bit down regarding work after finishing the video special and I feel the need, and still do, to be more involved in the goings on within the organisation, I really want something to dig my teeth into and prove that perhaps I am worthy of a job at the end of the placement in April. This is something I intend to push for as I have put the head down since certain incidents over the past few months and I have turned a corner I believe. I have pushed for more to do and that day I was given a role with a project called "The Matter", I am currently reading up on this at present so I have little or no knowledge on this or what it is about but it seems challenging and exciting to a part of.
I shall be flying to Madrid with work as part of a Youth employment conference in December with my former digital director and two others on the apprenticeship, there we will speak to other delegates from across Europe (daunting) about Youth employment opportunities. At the moment since I was told I have heard no further information other than that sentence.
I shall return more frequently, even though there is not much point as this was set up as a must for the course but I feel that must has fallen by the way side. But as they say, sure i'll just do it for the craic.
