the ride back home was silent except for the sound of tires rolling on the asphalt and rock tune playing on the stereo. you sat with your body angled towards the passenger side window, the usual hum of chatter replaced by a cold silence. dean reached for your hand and you pulled away, tucking it away from him. a pang of worry coursed through him, but he let his hand fall.
the metal door shut behind him with a heavy click. he watched you stride inside the bunker with purpose, throwing open a cabinet to retrieve the first-aid kit. dean's footsteps padded behind you like it had a mind of its own. he knew what to do. he dragged a chair and settled onto it, the wood making a groaning noise that cut through the stillness between the two of you.
“take off your shirt," your clipped voice broke the silence.
"say please?" he joked, trying to lighten the mood like he always did.
your glare could cut through glass.
“okay, no joking. got it.”
dean's fingers worked the buttons of his shirt. his glinting eyes never left yours as he peeled the fabric off his body. you ignored his stare and turned your attention to the gash on his arm. it extended from his shoulder across his bicep, dried blood clinging to its edges.
dean saw the wave of worry flit across your face, like this was something serious and not a run-of-the-mill injury for him. like he hadn't had worse before. you pressed a clean gauze on the wound and it soaked through, painting the off white fabric a deep crimson. by the third gauze, thankfully, it seemed to stop, eliminating the need for stitches.
you grabbed a soaked gauze this time and a sharp hiss escaped dean's lips when the antiseptic bit through his destroyed skin. soon enough, it settled into a softer tingling sensation and he allowed himself to look up at you.
he took in your face, the furrow of your brows, the tight press of your lips. you looked like a very grumpy, very adorable kitten. your practiced hands wrapped the bandage around his arm, the soft rustling of fabric and the late-night hum of bunker the only sound in the room. the air swirled heavy with dust from old lore books and unsaid words.
a single strand of hair escaped your tie and fell across your face. he ached to reach out and tuck it behind your ear. trail his thumb over your soft skin while he's at it. maybe lean in and kiss that frown away. he gave in and dragged his hands from your thighs to your waist trailing a slow path that sent a shiver down your spine, his thumbs moving soothingly along the exposed skin just above your waistband.
"still mad at me?"
"you jumped in front of a goddamn wraith. what do you think?"
"i don't regret it. it was gonna get you," he murmured.
anger swirled in your chest at his aloofness and his lack of trust in you during hunts. like you can't handle yourself. like you need to be saved every time.
"no, it was not gonna get me because i calculated my move carefully and i had to get near the creature to stab it. but, no, you couldn't trust me to handle myself and you had to swoop in and play hero. now, look at you-" you swallowed the emotions clogging your throat.
he did see it ; the sheer panic on your face when he jumped between the creature and you, taking the hit that was meant to be for you. dean could stay here and argue till the sun comes up how he would take not one, but a million hits for you and not regret it. but, he didn't like seeing the gloom on your face. he didn't like being the reason it's there. he took a deep sigh, capturing your hands.
“it’s just my arm, sweetheart,” he said soft and steady.
your throat worked. “and it easily could’ve been somewhere else. your stomach or your chest-"
the words halted in your throat when dean tugged you closer and buried his face in your stomach. he inhaled the sweet scent of you and it filled his senses like a drug.
"m'sorry" he mumbled against you. the gentle press of his lips on your sternum followed the mumble apology. "so sorry." another apology. another kiss, this time on your clothed navel.
when you looked down at him, his gaze was already on yours. mossy green eyes dripping with need and temptation locked on you. the anger in your heart seemed to grow smaller and smaller at the sight, despite the internal fight with yourself to keep your restraint. the invisible wire snapped completely when his teeth grazed the underside of your breast sending your hands flying to the nape of his neck and fingers curling into the short strands.
dean took that as a cue to tug you down to him. you landed squarely on his lap, your thighs bracketing his hips. plush lips latched onto your neck trailing a path of featherlight kisses.
"this doesn't mean you're off the hook-" you tried to instill some semblance of control but the words died in your throat when his lips found the spot under your ear. a shudder ran through you at the nip of his teeth and the wet sensation of his tongue easing the sting.
your fingers pulled at his strands dragging his face up to yours. you collided your lips with his and dean met your mouth with equal fervor. his hot tongue darted to lick the seam of your lips begging for entry. you granted it, parting your lips and letting his tongue dance with yours.
he pulled you impossibly closer and heat rushed to your stomach, the ache between your legs getting harder to ignore and so was the length of him under you. you rolled your hips once eliciting a deep groan from him. you did it again, the friction too delicious to ignore. he twitched under you, his fingers digging hard into your hip, his grip knuckle white.
“fuck,” he muttered shakily, his breath catching.
dean's hips moved in accord with yours, meeting your rhythm. his face found the crook of your neck, the heat of his breath fanning against your skin. the roll of your hips grew relentless, desperately chasing the sweet spot.
“god, baby. you’re killing me."
dean's breath came out in jagged gasps that matched yours. he couldn't control the sounds that escaped his lips. soft, needy whimpers dripping into your ears like sickeningly sweet honey.
"keep going. just like that," he whined.
the tightness in your stomach coiled tighter, and you pressed down desperately, chasing the high. dean muttered a string of broken curses and desperate pleas through stuttering breaths.
"so close, baby. so close. please, please, please," he panted in your mouth.
his voice drove you closer to the edge. your back arched and stars exploded behind your eyelids. the circle of dean's arms around you grew tighter, holding you close as you rode out your wave. dean captured your mouth again, and soon enough, he followed, spilling into his pants. the sound of your moans cut through the quiet of the bunker.
you stayed there, foreheads pressed together, breathing raggedly in each other's mouths. dean's hot breath fanned against your cheek as he pressed soft kisses there. his lips curve against your skin.
“remind me to make you mad often."
“shut up,” you hugged him tighter.
he grin grew wider. “yes ma’am."
