Upon perceiving Dioâs hostile words, Akaneâs meek giggle resonated within the room once more. Her eyes threw him a piercing glance, the fierceness within them as sharp as metaphorical daggers whose poignancy was the perfect contradiction to her lamb-like chuckling.
âDio, I doubt you could forget me at all,â she whispered into the room, her undertone marginally threatening despite the motionless, prim and proper perfect-down-to-the-last-detail smile resting upon her lips. âI mean, youâve pierced right through my  f r a g i l e  heart. What a feeling it was! Made me faint on the spot. Itâs as though youâve killed meââ
At this point, her condescending manner of speaking, the veiled threats between daisy-esque words of innocence, should underline her resemblance with a certain other woman, their differences relating to their age and not their genes.
     âLiterally. Youâve  k i l l e d  me, Dio. Sometimes, at least.â
âSooooââ Drumroll, please. âDid I bring back your memories now?â
Unfortunately, Dio wasnât the most fluent in the language of subtlety, and the womanâs grisly descriptions of murder only set him further away from the truth. His mind worked out that this lady had her lines crossed, since heâd never actually killed anyone. Before the Ambidex Game, heâd set many things on fire, released Radical-6 into neighborhoods, encouraged and manipulated others to jump from buildings... but heâd never directly ended someoneâs life. Pitiful as it was, heâd been saving his first kill for Akane Kurashiki once he knew the mission - and before that, he didnât have the fucking guts to do it.
âSorry, but you need to see a shrink or some shit,â he laughed, shaking his head. âNot sure how you think I can sometimes kill you, and sometimes not. What makes you think Iâve killed anyone, anyway?â Pathetic that he didnât, but she didnât need to know that. Anyone outside Free the Soul would consider that a good thing.
âSo how about you fuck off, or tell me who you really are? Did you know Aria or some shit? Is that it?â The last parts of his words were blurted out, and his eyes widened a bit when he realized heâd spoken her name. He swore he never would again, Brother damn him if heâd even think of her as anything but a whore...
âNever mind. This is pointless. Go away,â he snapped, eyes narrowed.
