IDINA IS LEFT HANDED?!?!?!?! Being the eagle eyed lefty I am, I noticed in the bottom right pic, she's looking to her left. She's one of Us! YES! FAN FOR LIFE HERE! I ALREADY LIKED HER, NOW I LIKE HER, LIKE HER!
Just taught myself how to cornrow tonight. BASIC TASK....no one to teach me, b/c everyone I know who can braid (save my cousin who is also learning and ALSO lefty), is right handed and can't handle showing me how to do something backwards. Amateur's. I can learn from a righty. Lefties know how to improvise, adapt and overcome.

Here I thought me coming up with the phrase "I'm Lefthandist and proud!" was hilarious (and true!) and here comes "Right Privilege" to top me. No one knows the troubles we see....unless you are left handed. Being forced to sit in the same desk every class b/c it's the only left handed one in the class. You either move it to where your friends are, or sit in shame where it has been moved to before you arrived. Left Handed Problems. 45 min to open a can b/c it's a right handed opener? Left Handed Problems. Learning how to use your right hand b/c your left hand tires easily from being at a twisted angle to accommodate righties being on both sides of you? Left Handed Problems

When I think about and understand how racism works due to my tendency to treat people better when I find out they are just like me....being left handed DOES make us a "different" category than others. I find myself being happier to be in the presence of someone when I notice or know they're a lefty too. I treat people better when I know they are a lefty. I find myself not staying mad at someone when I know they're a lefty, too. Being a Lefthandedist is real and I have no regrets!
When I notice there is a left handed person in the vicinity of me and then notice there's another and another and then I ask each of them "AREYOULEFTHANDED?!!?" and their face lights up when they say "YESIAM!!!" We then say the mantra of lefties everywhere "there's NEVER this many of us in one place!!"
True story...this happens to me every now and then, whether I know the people or not.
When right handed people tell me they're not left handed, but they use their left hand "to do lots of stuff."
