I kinda wonder what the overlap between whump fans and horror fans is (and why), because I definitely know there are horror fans who aren’t whump fans (though probably a lot of that is due to the whump community being proportionally much smaller), but as someone who finds the appeal in whump and horror to be very similar I’ve been honestly surprised by the number of whump fans who aren’t fans of horror.
