THIS GAME
Todd why
You came to the wrong neighborhood, Dragonborn.
I understand the Fighters Guild is hiring new members. Not bad work for some folks.
Pictured: Concept art for Sheogorath, created for the Shivering Isles expansion. The Grummite Butler could have been an early design of Haskill, or a member of Sheogorath’s court that unfortunately did not make it into the final release.
…..autumn 🍁
Morrowind, for me, will always be the best game ever! From 2002 to 2019, this game is still beautiful.
“Cyrodiil is the cradle of Human Imperial high culture on Tamriel. It is the largest region of the continent, and most is endless jungle. The Imperial City is in the heartland, the fertile Nibenay Valley. The densely populated central valley is surrounded by wild rain forests drained by great rivers into the swamps of Argonia and Topal Bay. The land rises gradually to the west and sharply to the north. Between its western coast and its central valley are deciduous forests and mangrove swamps.”
–Excerpt from Provinces of Tamriel
Pictured: The Legion on march from the Imperial City.
Did You Know: Imperial scholars have noted that there are references to unknown beast races, including “pirates with rat-like features, and still others who appeared canine, suggesting Akaviri cultures yet undiscovered and perhaps extinct”?
One of the more heartwarming moments from the series: Trying to donate a mixing bowl to the Museum of Oddities in the Shivering Isles:
“Hmm. A bowl that you mix potions in. Doesn’t seem all that Odd to me… well, I can see you’re trying, so I’ll find somewhere to put it.”
“You want to talk to a Dwemer mystic? Ha! Look, I’m no mystic. Wasn’t when I was alive, either. I’m a soldier, kid, plain and simple. Sure, I made weapons for my troops. No secret there. I’m no mystic, though. But you say you want to add fire to that blade?”
–Radac Stungnthumz, Undead Dwemer Weaponsmith
[Poem begin]
Your merits defy calculation,
My heart (metaphorical) pumps like a piston,
And my pelvic and/or knee brackets oscillate,
Whenever we make physical contact,
Also, your face symmetry pleases me.
[End composition]
–Love poem LT0782, created by a Factotum
Did You Know: The book “Shalidor’s Insights” can be partially translated? The “magic alphabet” on the page functions as a transliteration of our own alphabet, and from there is just Portuguese missing any letter with accent mark (re-included here for easier understanding): “Alduin é a variação Nórdica de Akatosh e só superficialmente parece-se com o seu colega nos”
Or: “Alduin is the Nordic variation of Akatosh, and superficially resembles his counterpart in the [Nine Divines]”
TES Memory: Falling into the Necromancer trap in Skingrad, and Count Janus Hassildor of all people personally rushing to save you.
TES Memory: Ending up in Blackreach.
