Caught in Debenhams!!

So this is a really sucky thing to be writing but I got caught. Really fucking badly.

It’s my boyfriend sisters birthday next week so I went out lifting stuff for her birthday. First I went to H&M and lifted some pjs and socks. I also lifted some makeup from boots and a birthday card. Earlier on in the day I had went into Debenhams and lifted a few palettes and decided I would go back to get another one I knew she really wanted.

This was were it started fucking up. I had gone in the same Debenhams a couple days prior and lifted a few other palettes. I never get sussed and started to feel invincible, like I would never get caught. So I go into the Debenhams for the second time in the day and there was a man at the urban decay counter with the cashier. They both look at me. I feel uncomfortable but ignore it and lift a palette regardless. So I conceal normally and leave the store. The man at the counter comes out and stops me saying “miss I work for Debenhams and I need you to come back in with me”

honesty it was such a sinking feeling. I felt like I was a failure and that my life was over. I go back in the staff entrance with him and go into a holding room where he checks all my bags and takes all the stolen stuff off me. There were a few things I had bought but most things were lifted. He told me how they saw me last time I came in and I was thinking “shit I can’t say it’s the first time I did it”

So they called the police and the guy was kinda nice saying it was okay and he’s done a lot of stupid stuff before. He took a picture of me on his phone and said I was banned from all Debenhams.

It took like 2 hours for the police to arrive. It was one police officer and she was honestly so lovely. I made up some shit about it being my mums birthday and that I was poor and couldn’t even afford to pay the rent but wanted to get my mum some nice things. She completely fell for it and actually ended up dropping me Home. I let her in and have her the palettes I took the other day. She did a quick look around and then said that it was all good.

She said I would get a call regarding the outcome and it could take weeks. She said she hopes I just get a slap on the wrist as I seemed a nice girl but I might get it on my record but it’s up to her sergeant.

It’s been 3 days and it still fucks me up. Just the realisation that I was caught and I may never lift again. I’m not sure if I still will. I definitely won’t for a while but it’s so shitty because Xmas is around the corner and I haven’t even got half of my family’s presents.

So yeah, don’t get greedy and definitely don’t fuck with Debenhams LP (I saw my

when you lift palettes from debenhams are there not any stickers or anything on them that would make the towers go off? if so how do you get them off without anyone seeing

Nope!! They’re not tagged in any way. Well in all the Debenhams I’ve been in they’re not. When I first started lifting I would bring them to a dressing room and check for them but now I get 10+ In one go I get out quickly. They only soft tag perfumes which you can conceal them just peel off in the dressing room.

Almost caught 😥😥😥

I legit almost got caught in boux Avenue I’m shook. So basically I picked up a bra I inteneded to lift as I noticed it didn’t have a tag, when I picked it up a pin fell out (where it was obviously half tagged) but a SA was standing right next to me so she must of throught I untagged it??? Well stupid me didn’t think about this and concealed it anyway under my jacket to go into the dressing room. the same sa literally ran over counted my items and went “and the one under your jacket” I was shook I was like oh Yh and that one. So I go into the changing room shook af but undecided whether or not to lift still because this bra was beautiful - I decided not too and thank god I didn’t because the woman waiting outside the dressing rooms started shouting the sa that clocked me earlier on 😥😥 so I just walk straight out of the shop not looking back and I think they were calling for their manager !! So basically the sa’s in boux Avenue are fucking on their shit

What are methods to get rid of coat hangers

So I normally try to rid coat hangers before I even go into the dressing room. So pretend the clothes fell off the hanger whilst walking around and then just pick it up and put the hanger down. This saves so much room in your bag. ALSO I have this pretty neat tactic I use in the dressing rooms that means I can just leave behind the hangars. This only really works in places that don’t walk you to your dressing room and that don’t have the curtain doors. I make sure I go into a dressing room and that the sa can’t see which one I go in. And when I leave the dressing room I don’t fully open the curtain. I leave it closed so it looks like someone is still in there. This means the sa’s won’t go to clean it anytime soon leaving you enough room to vacate the store. Hope this helps!!

Hey! I'm planning to hit up boots tomorrow however I normally stick to clothes stores (I feel more comfortable in dressing rooms)! Don't suppose you have any tips or can explain your tactics? x

Ya gotta be careful in boots Cos I’ve read the lp are good, I lift quite a lot in boots and I was nervous as first too. So when I want to lift a TONNE I use the bag in basket method. For this I get a basket, put my open handbag/ plastic bag in the basket and browse, I’ll put a few items in the basket to make me look less suss then put the stuff I want to lift into my bag (looks like it’s going in the basket too) I also try to cover the bag with a jacket and only try to put stuff in at a blind spot. This way I’ve lifted over £500 worth of benefit makeup. When I’m just lifting small amount of items I conceal in a jacket that’s draped over my arm. So my jacket is over my arm, when I have what I want to lift in my hand I’ll put it under my arm (in the jacket) and then just keep it concealed in there. I normally use this method when I need stuff like an odd foundation or something. In boots you gotta make your own blind spots most of the time. So crouching down looking at the bottom shelf or what not. They use soft tags on the Xmas gift sets and spider wraps on stuff like razors and hairdryers. Hope this helped!!
