The White Boxes of Death
Alright little lifting buddies, I had a nice long talk with my best buddy on here about my ulta white box of death removal and decided more brains are better than one, or two in our case. So here it is.
I am hesitant because I know ulta lurks liftblr, and I know some people on here are just here to reveal our techniques and information. However, it seems I am stuck and in need of advice since I cannot get ahold of an actual ulta employee to help with questions.
I got this little guy
This is the handheld deactivator. There is a large black pad version of it too, both work the same with the same light pattern. My experience was, or what I think is-
A) The object (aka tag) has to be on a stable surface because the sensor has to be completely covered and properly aligned and both your hands will be busy ( explained later ), so you either have to have it sitting on a display or the floor or something stable and flat.
B) If it beeps when you try to use it, it did not work. I thought the single beep meant it worked, and then once I took it off it started screeching. I do not know for sure if it stays silent or beeps once disarmed. The other time it worked I heard no sounds but do not take that as proof for I have only tried twice, with only once being successful.
C) I do not know how long you have to hold it and push the button to activate the light pattern for it to deactivate the tag. When you press the button to activate the pattern, there is an obvious pattern to the light but there is no pause between the pattern so I have no clue when to stop. I can’t find a good way to test any of this without getting caught and have no insider information about it.
D) It is extremely difficult to do alone. Not only do you have to find a way to conceal this ( It doesn’t set off the towers ) but it also has to be a practical and accessible concealment. I made a makeshift wrist pocket from some old spanx for this purpose, but you still have to use one hand to hold it against the sensor and the other to push the button so it is dangerous and very obvious what you are doing when you do it. Having a second person to block or warn you of approaching staff/customers would be ideal. This person could also hold the item as you two *look* at it aka holds it steady.
So my question to you, fellow lifters, what would you do and how. How would you test this, can you get any information from the inside, would you be willing to test this yourself? If you are willing I can give you the information you need to get this little guy just send me a message and don’t be on a fucking empty or non-lift account. Getting a white box out of the store to test on would be ideal but I don’t know how. If you are going to test have a tote and things inside it to blame the alarm going off on you if it does. Remember, this is a trial and error but if we find a way for this to work 100% this will kill the white boxes of death. I am afraid I can not test this again for a while so I am sharing for any and all input on this situation. Thanks for reading.
