Cliff hadn’t exactly been at the bar for too long. He was on his first drink, only a little bit had been taken from the glass at that moment. He wasn’t supposed to be alone, knowing that a few of the guys were coming in a bit. For a few seconds, he made small talk with the bartender. He knew him fairly well at this point considering he was one of the regulars. There was a voice he recognized, immediately turning to see her. It was Lena. He’d talked to her earlier that morning about his hand situation and how he was not exactly great about taking care of it.

“Fancy seeing you here stranger,” he said, looking smug as he took a somewhat long drink of his Guinness.

Lena had just moved to Boston after taking the job as an on site medic for the Boston Raiders. She was still getting her feel for the city and had decided to get out of her apartment for the night when she had stumbled across this bar near the stadium. She was making small talk to one of the other medics she happened to see at the bar when she came in. She was taking a sip off of her whiskey when she heard the voice from behind her. Turning around, she saw Marleau walking up to her. She smirked and said, "mixing pain pills with alcohol, EXACTLY the type of behaviour a medic wants to see her patient partaking in." She smiled a bit and asked, "how does it feel?"

Lena looked at her and folded her arms, "I think that would go against my oath as a nurse. You don't scare me. If you need help I can help you."

Mina was in one of her depressive states, it'd been weeks since she'd seen Daniel, weeks since he'd been forced to turn, weeks since she'd not protected him and here she was staring at her daughter realizing what came out of her mouth.

Mina had cleaned and reparied everything in the house, including her weapons and now she'd run out of things to do and had no choice but to sit around thinking.

"Fucking hell," she rested the heels of her hands on her eyes, "I"m sorry I said that, Lena. That was fucked."

There wasn't much that scared Lena, working as a nurse in New York City had made her essentially immune to most things. Her mother was just as tough, but to hear her say something like that shook her to her core as she listened to her.

"Mom, where is Dad?" Lena asked, she knew something was up but her Dad and Mom both were notoriously good at keeping things under wraps around their kids. "Do you think it's safe for him to be alone out there during the pandemic?"
