Hi! I’m not active on tumblr, but I’m trying to get my art to reach a wider audience! I’m a small account emerging artist and haven’t been getting much traction.
If you see this post and like my art, please share! It would help me so much!
And please follow my IG: chy.nique
Thank you so much! All it takes is one share to support 🙏🏾🤍🥲
Some cities have chosen to help fight against homelessness, while others have chosen to fight against homeless people. Read the full story here: 👉 https://didyouknowfacts.com/12-examples-of-the-hostile-architecture-cities-use-to-keep-homeless-people-from-sleeping-in-public/
i learned that in the 1880s, the Harvard Observatory director was frustrated with his staff, and would say “My Scottish maid could do better!” So, he hired his Scottish maid. Williamina Fleming ran a team for decades, classified tens of thousands of stars, & discovered white dwarfs and the Horsehead Nebula (x)
“She became one of the founding members of the Harvard Computers, an all-women cadre of human computers hired by Pickering to compute mathematical classifications and edit the observatory’s publications.
The group included Harvard computer and astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt, Annie Jump Cannon, Williamina Fleming, and Antonia Maury.”

Zuko, surprisingly, is the one that’s able to go on the longest, most impassioned drunk rants. He did so much research into Avatars when he was banished, and is ready to info dump

Chefchaouen, a small town in northern Morocco, has a rich history, beautiful natural surroundings and wonderful architecture, but what it’s most famous for are the striking and vivid blue walls of many of the buildings in its “old town” sector, or medina.
The maze-like medina sector, like those of most of the other towns in the area, features white-washed buildings with a fusion of Spanish and Moorish architecture. The brilliantly blue walls, however, seem to be unique to Chefchaouen. They are said to have been introduced to the town by Jewish refugees in 1930, who considered blue to symbolize the sky and heaven. The color caught on, and now many also believe that the blue walls serve to repel mosquitoes as well (mosquitoes dislike clear and moving water).
Whatever the reason, the town’s blue walls attract visitors who love to wander the town’s narrow streets and snap some beautiful photos.
“At the National Museum of the American Indian, 68 percent of the collection is from the United States. I am doing my best not to become a museum of myself. I am doing my best to breathe in and out. I am begging: Let me be lonely but not invisible.”

“I play an immortal character in The Old Guard with Charlize Theron.
My character just appears for probably two minutes, but I trained a lot for that character. I trained for all the action and delivered my best of the best; not just one hundred, but two hundred.
I’m really excited of the movie and it came out, and I just realized that they pulled me all the way from Vietnam to London and shot all these things for three months,
and I appeared for one minute on screen, and then they drowned me in the freaking ocean for five hundred years—that’s the interesting part of the character.
But the thing is, it kind of payoff because I appeared at the very last scene that is leading us to a sequel, which I hope there will be a sequel. Otherwise, it’s gonna be just one minute. So if you guys likes the movie and comments about Quynh, I’ll have a chance to go back and give more about Quynh— the very first Vietnamese character from a big hollywood project.”
—Veronica Ngo talks about her character Quynh, The Old Guard (dir. Gina Prince-Bythewood, 2020)
NETFLIX!!!!! Please give us the sequal announcement!
Yeah a sequel is definitely on my watch list.

They are making audio and digital books available now too!!
They're currently US only. I cannot wait for this to come to the UK.
I use this site to purchase all my manga. Very reliable
For those not in the United States you can also check if any of your local bookstores has an online store, I can order books at my local comic store for example and they don’t just deliver within town but nationwide and to selected foreign countries (I live in Germany and they also deliver to Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland)
If none of the bookstores nearest to you has an online store remember that ones next town over likely still deliver to your place
Another option would be to order directly from publishers, they usually have online stores on their websites, I recently ordered some manga that way
Gonna check this out.
Watched LoK (and read the comics too heh) for the first time and it struck me how Korra and Asami ending up together mirrored the kind of merging between the Spirit realm and the Material realm. Korra represents the spirits, Asami represents civilization and progress. These two worlds come together right in the middle of Republic City and who are at the forefront of this peaceful co-existence? The Avatar and her gf, the resident industrialist.
Korra and Asami are opposites that complement each other perfectly. It’s a bit ironic that the reason why Asami is such a perfect opposite of Korra is because Asami was originally written as a villain who would be the perfect opposite of the main hero. Instead, they have become the perfect couple, two characters who complement each other perfectly and create the perfect balance.
This explains why when Asami first appeared, I didn't trust her.
Can somebody hire me to do night shifts at a museum? I’ll bring my own dinner that I made the morning of and my favourite book. I’ll wander around the place taking everything in even though I see it each night. Sometimes i’ll listen to music while admiring and sometimes i’ll listen to the silence in comfort. Can somebody make this happen?
I've rarely wished *this* much for someone's job request to happen.
