Rutee was on all four, collecting all the lens she had let fall on the ground. Such a clumsy girl! Next time, she wouldn’t look at his friend’s tomfooleries. Like this, she wouldn’t fall while having a big purse of lens in the hands.

The woman sighed while looking at all the lens on the ground. Still a lot to gather up and, of course, his friend wasn’t helping at all. And it was because of him if she dropped them!

Suddenly, while she was taking a lens near her, she felt something on her back. She closed her eyes. No but seriously…!

“Zelos, can you, please, zip back my shirt and help me gathering up all the lenses!?”

Oh, wrong moment? Sad, he liked the view, though. Not like he had done it on purpose, anyway. Not at all. He shrugged, zipped the shirt, and started looking for the lenses.

“You should get a larger bag for these. Seriously, that’s no wonder you dropped them all when you have so many.”

He took as much as he could, but two or three lenses fell from his arms.

“Don’t you sell them regularly? It would be way easier for you to transport them… “

He was a bit surprised by how the woman managed her finances, but shook his head. It wasn’t his problem.

When Zelos finally zipped her shirt, she felt better. Seriously, men…! Or rather, seriously, Zelos! This man was always playing like this. Maybe she should do him a prank to teach him not to mess with women?

“Yeah, if I find one, I’ll take it.”

She didn’t want to lose money just for that! Losing money would mean… She shighed. She didn’t want to think about it for now. First, she had to take back her lenses.

“Oh, you noticed? Yes, I sell them regularly. I can’t waste money on a bigger bag for now.” She said more harshly she intended to.

Maybe she was a little bit angry against him It was because of him she had to pick everything back after all!

There had been recent news of monsters breeding close by and having taken a job on reducing them to a more manageable number, but as he made his way to the mentioned location he thought he heard some noise in the distance. Hunters? well it wouldn’t be unusual considering the circumstances but as he walked a little towards the source of the noise it started to sound like whatever it was needed help.

Picking up the pace, keeping in line of the increasing noises until he could see a small figure ahead of him, whoever it was they seemed to be biting more than they could chew. Feeling as if he should help he began to run, unsheathing his sword as he got closer, when the figure became clearer he cupped his spare hand across his mouth and shouted.

'Need a hand?'

Rutee startled, and tuned towards the origin of the voice. Her eyes met the ones of a man and she was going to answer when Atwight exclaimed:

"Rutee! Behind you!"

The young girl had barely the time to jump on the side; fortunately for her, the monster missed her.

"Thanks, Atwight."

Then, she stepped away the monster and started to cast. When she finally finished it, she shouted:

"Ice Needle!"

Next, she looked back at the man with red hair and finally answered with the same way he asked:

"Yes, I do!"

And when she looked back at the monster, he was gaining back his mind. It didn't work a lot, huh? Maybe the spell wasn't strong enough... The unknown man's help wouldn't be too much.

Nearby, there was a teenager in the same area, apparently looking for something. The boy, Kyle, was by himself, muttering things under his breath. The teen’s blue eyes darted back and forth around the surrounding area as he walked, but it didn’t take long before he decided to act. Somewhere nearby, there was a giant monster stamping around. He could feel the vibrations of the giant creature from where he was standing. It didn’t take long to locate the epicenter of the stamping, and in the next second, a red and blue blur leaped out of hiding.

“Slag Assault!" Kyle’s voice cried out as his sword slammed into the ground. Debris flung up from where the blade impacted the earth and flew toward the creature. However, it appeared that the bits of earth merely bounced off the side of the monster. This was one tough creature.

However, it seemed that the young swordsman wasn’t all alone. Nearby, there was a woman with black hair and a red, black, and white outfit. It took a moment to realize what was going on, but once it did, Kyle’s heart sank a bit. He knew who the other person was - his own mother. What was she doing here? He could have sworn that she was back in Cresta, but there was no denying that the woman standing nearby was definitely her.

"…We have to work together, Mo… I mean, Ma’am!" Kyle had nearly slipped just now, but it was a simple enough save. If she knew who he was, she’d say so. Otherwise, he was going to keep quiet - she didn’t need to know his relationship to her right now.

Rutee heard a voice and a strange sound coming from the ground, but she didn't pay attention to it as she was thinking quickly about what to do next. Attack? But which one? It seemed inefficient against this monster.

"Hey, Atwight, any idea?" She asked her friend.

But to her surprise, the Swordian stayed quiet. Rutee frowned. What again? Was she angry because she didn't listen her? Oh please! She knew why she didn't, right?

"Don't tell me you're pout--"

The Lens Hunter stopped when she saw a blond young boy, in a red and blue outfit near her and talking to her. Huh? Since when is he here? Maybe that was why Atwight didn't answer her. Not that he could hear the sword talking, but the Swordian probably knew that it was better if Rutee didn't have to talk with her for now.

"Well, thanks." She finally answered to the young boy. "I need some help."

To be honest, she didn't know how to win against the monster. It looked like he was invincible. Yet, she knew that there was a way. It must. She wouldn't giving up when she could earn lot of Lens.

"Any idea? I can use water spells but I'm not sure it can be useful against it."

Her eyes lightened up when she saw the big monster near her. A big monster meant a lot of Lens. Jakpot!

"I'll kick his ass!" She exclaimed, already imagining the Lens in her hands.

"You shouldn't, Rutee." Atwight warned. "He's too strong for you."

Rutee looked at her sword and friend, before deciding to ignore the warning. Then she lured the monster and when he charged at her, she jumped on the side. New, with Atwight's help, she threw a spell at the monster but it wasn't effective at all. 

"What the-!"

"I told you he was stronger than you, Rutee!"

The young woman didn't answer and avoided again the monster's attack. Why did she not listen Atwight for once? Of course, she had to jump into problems!

"Guess I have no choice, huh?" She said more for herself than for the Swordian.

Rutee stared at the monster's big red eyes and prepared herself to fight him. She wouldn't run away.
