Empathy should be for everyone or no one. Meeting the needs of one person shouldn't mean dismissing the needs of another.

And there are ways to make sure that this doesn't happen, if we bother to look for them.

Putting people in Oppressor/Privileged or Oppressed/ Not Privileged groups makes for less empathy, not more.
