It's the same thing with Freeside, it's the same thing with NCR, and it's the same thing with any faction that you choose to side with. In Fallout, there are no good options, just as there really aren't any good options in life. The Institute sure is technologically advanced compared to most of the rest of the wasteland, but their track record of what they've done to the people of the wasteland, including replacing them with synths, has been absolutely horrific for the survivors. Becoming the head of that and flexing your power to take over the Institute doesn't mean that the corruption's gone. It's almost impossible to keep morality in that type of situation when you're given that amount of power and that amount of control, and then everybody under you is trying to undermine you. So to maintain that power, you're going to have to do things which you're not right now prepared to do. So I think blowing up the Institute's probably the best course of action, but I don't like the Minutemen, and I don't like the way the Brotherhood of Steel is portrayed either. I'd much rather the Brotherhood be those isolationists that they were in 1 and 2, and New Vegas. There are no good options, just less bad choices.
