petravery:
The consequences of the solar eclipse in Moon Island were there for her to feel it. She didnât know exactly what was happening, but the return of Damien, or what seemed to be the return of her previous alpha gave her a lot to think throughout the night and a lack of desire of comfort to actually fall asleep and get some rest. How could she when she felt she was in danger? When she wanted to keep herself attentive to what was happening in her surroundings in case sheâd have to fight something or someone? Even when her eyes tried to close, sheâd open them a few seconds later and whenever her body won the war and she was able to fall asleep, she would suddenly wake up with her heart beating faster. It was a horrible situation she didnât want to go through again. So, instead, of heading back to her apartment the second night of darkness, she decided to take a walk. Even if it meant she could meet Damien again.
When he wasnât physically there, heâd be in her mind, merging with other peopleâs faces. It was a nightmare to say the least, and that constant pull towards his words and his commands was even worst. That bad habit of listening to him, of caring about what he had to say about her was something she had been keeping to herself ever since the first time she saw him. Something she was unable to share with her new alpha. The one she should definitely trust. Walking aimlessly, with her phone on her pocket and her eyes looking around, ignoring when someone looked a lot like Damien or when his voice would haunt her again.Â
Come back to me. Join us again. Donât be a failure. You know Iâm the only one youâll ever follow.
And then, her attention moved to someone else. Leon. Focus on him. Try your best to focus solely on him. Petra thought while her eyes moved to stare at the manâs light eyes. âHeyâŠâ His question made her raise an eyebrow and remain quiet for a second. She was in Moon Island for a year, he was there for almost his entire life, if not⊠his entire life. That was the kind of question that she assumed heâd know the answer. âYouâre four blocks away from it. Are you⊠okay? Do you need me to head there with you?â Maybe she wasnât the only one that had been feeling different. But she hadnât had the courage of asking him if he felt the same, if something was also happening to him when in Petraâs point of view, her meetings with her alpha and accepting his words, only meant she was weak.Â
Are you okay, Leon? He could hear his own voice coming from behind his shoulder, really close to his ear and although he couldnât see himself, Spencer was right there, as if he had just returned from the dead. Could it be possible? Leon shook his head, which couldâve made Petra that he was answering to her question--but then again, was he okay? âItâs--just a migraine.â He lied. He was good at that--lying to make people worry less about him. He wondered if he was the only one seeing his dead brother or if Petra was seeing dead people too. Nothing was impossible when it came to Moon Island. âWould you like to accompany me there?â He had heard her offer, of course he had, but Leon also wasnât going to force her to accompany him, especially if he was the only one seeing things and she had other places to go.
Pretty, isnât she? Leonâs voice returned and he could swear he could feel his hot breath, cascading close to his ear again. Wasnât she the one who opened your eyes to the truth? Another voice joined his own and he saw and heard Spencer. Wasnât she who reminded you how you stood back and did nothing after I died? Did you even mourn, Leon? Did you cry the loss of an innocent or did you mourn your brother? Leon felt his knees weakening a little, but after Petraâs answer, he was able to move his feet as he began walking. âThe eclipse...â Finally, he spoke again, looking up at the moon, the only source of natural illumination of Moon Island. âHow do you feel about it... as werewolf, I mean. Does it feel different to you?â Maybe talking would quiet down the voices that seemed to be following him. His own and Spencerâs.
